First day of Eagle Fang training with Miyagi-Do?

Chaos.

That's the only way to describe it.

The Eagle Fangs kicked the Miyagi-Dos while we were warming up, Penis Breath got kicked into a huge rock, Chris puked in Mr. LaRusso's row boat after doing Sensei's obstacle course, Hawk even kicked a hole in the door of the dojo.

Mr. LaRusso really wasn't happy about that one...

Right now, everyone is pretty much just standing around while Sensei and Mr. LaRusso argue.

"If you don't want anything broken, then it shouldn't be here!" Sensei yelled. "It's never been a problem before!" Mr. LaRusso yelled back.

"Yeah, that's because all you do is sit around and do yoga!" Sensei continued. "It's not yoga!" Mr. LaRusso defended. "Everything we do has a purpose!"

"Everything you do is stupid!"

Mr. LaRusso laughed in annoyance to himself as he took a couple steps back. "Class is dismissed." He announced, before storming off. "Hey, you don't get to call all the shots!" Sensei pointed at Mr. LaRusso as he continued to walk away.

Sensei quietly watched Mr. LaRusso leave for another moment, before looking back to everyone.
"Class dismissed!" He yelled, before storming away in the opposite direction as Mr. LaRusso.

I heard people around me let out sighs of relief. I looked over to Miguel, who was standing beside me. "Today was..." I paused to find the words.
"Crazy." Miguel finished my thought. I nodded in agreement.

"What're we gonna do?" Sam asked, walking up to us. "I'm not sure." Miguel said, shaking his head lightly while crossing his arms over his chest. Demitri and Eli walked up to our small circle.

"It's only the first day. Everyone is still getting used to this. Let's see how tomorrow goes, then we'll figure out things from there." I said. Everyone nodded in agreement, before walking away.

I turned to head to my bag, when I saw Eli standing behind me. I jumped slightly, not expecting him to be standing there. "Oh, uh, sorry if I scared you." He apologized.

"It's fine." I laughed lightly. We stood in an awkward silence, neither of us knowing what to say. We both looked around quietly, before we spoke at the same time.

"You did good today." We said to the other at the same time.

"Thank you." We said together again.

We both chuckled. "Well, uh, I'm gonna go grab my things." I said, pointing over to my bag. "Yeah, me too." Eli said. We both took a couple steps towards our things, before we bumped into each other.

"Sorry y/n, I didn't mean to run into you." Eli apologized again. "It's fine, Eli." I smiled awkwardly, before we both turned and walked away.

I saw Miguel standing by my bag, his own bag slung around his shoulder. I walked towards my bag and picked it up off the ground.

"That was a pain to watch..." Miguel said.

"It was a pain to endure." I replied.

I threw my bag over my shoulder as Miguel and I started walking to the front of the dojo. "What's up between you two?" Miguel asked.

"We aren't used to being so friendly with each other anymore, I guess. He said a lot of things to me, and I said a lot of things to him."

Miguel nodded as he listened. "Well, I bet you guys will be back to normal soon. Remember, he's not that guy anymore. He's changing his ways." Miguel told me. "You're right, you're right." I repeated.

We both stopped in front of the dojo. "Have you heard from Henry?" Miguel asked. I checked my phone quickly, but shook my head and sighed.

"Not yet. I don't know what's up with him."

I have not heard a single thing from Henry since the day of the fight at the LaRusso house. Why?
I have no idea. He won't text me back, he won't call me back... it's like he just disappeared. I'm hoping nothing bad happened with his mother. I wish he knew he could come to me when he needs someone to talk to.

"Diaz! In the van! Now!" Sensei yelled to Miguel. Miguel looked back to me. "I'll see you later." Miguel said.

We said our goodbyes, before Miguel walked to Sensei's van and I walked to my car. I threw my bag on the passenger's seat and sat in my car. I pulled out my phone and tried to call Henry, but still no answer. Then, I sent a text.

Me: I don't know what's up with you,
but I hope you know you can talk to me
about anything.

I stared down at the screen, not expecting anything to show up. But then, I saw a small, grey box with three dots pop up in the bottom left corner of the screen. That meant Henry was typing. My heart skipped a beat, thinking Henry was finally gonna say something.

But the box disappeared, and it never came back.

I threw my phone to the side in frustration. That was the closest I've ever gotten to a response, but it didn't happen.

I'll figure this out eventually.

Let's hope it's soon.

The joined dojos were all at the Miyagi-Do dojo once again. Sensei and Mr. LaRusso stood in front, looking over all of us.

"Sensei Lawrence and I have the same goal of preparing you for the tournament." Mr. LaRusso started.

"But we have different ways of getting you there." Sensei continued.

"We realize teaching you opposing viewpoints at the same time can be a little confusing." Mr. LaRusso said. "So we've discussed it and come up with a solution. We're gonna divide and conquer." Sensei announced. "Eagle Fang will train out front."

"And I'll be back here with the Miyagi-Dos." Mr. LaRusso said. Miguel and I looked at each other in confusion.

"I thought we were stronger working together." Miguel said to the two Sensei's. "We're still working together." Mr. LaRusso replied. "Just separately. On opposite ends of the dojo." Sensei added.

The dojos split up, and the Eagle Fangs walked to the front, while the Miyagi-Dos stayed in back.

As we walked, I leaned over to Miguel. "This isn't gonna get us anywhere." I whispered. "I know. I'll try to think of something." He replied.

"Y/l/n! Diaz! Stop bickering and do 50 pushups on your knuckles!" Sensei yelled. We both sighed and walked to the side to do our pushups.

"The All Valley is approaching quickly. We don't have time for chitchat! Did you hear that?" Sensei asked Miguel and I. "Yes, Sensei!" We yelled together as we did our pushups.

"Good!" He yelled. "We'll wait till y/l/n and Diaz are done with their pushups." Sensei announced. "Hurry up! Let's go!"

After Miguel and I finished our pushups, we walked back to the group. "Alright! Let's continue!" Sensei yelled.

Sensei looked over the group. "Hawk, since you're new to Eagle Fang, come on up." He waved Eli up.
Eli took a step forward and bowed. "Yes, Sensei."

On Eli's way up, Sensei swept Eli's leg out from under him. Eli fell to the ground with a groan. "What the heck?" Eli exclaimed.

Sensei ignored him and continued. "Today we're gonna practice our front sweeps. On Hawk." Sensei added. Eli stood back up and sighed. "All right. I know I was a dick, but I'm sorry." Eli said to Sensei.

"Talk is cheap." Sensei replied, finally acknowledging Eli again. Eli looked defeated, but didn't back down. That's something I've always loved about him. His determination.

"Penis Breath, you're up." Sensei said. Penis Breath nodded and walked forward, before getting into fighting stance.

Then, we started. Penis Breath knocked Eli on his ass, but Eli stood back up. Bert knocked Eli on his ass, but Eli stood back up. I knocked Eli on his ass, but once again, he stood back up. I couldn't help but admire him.

Now Sensei had us practicing our punches on Eli.
Miguel went up and punched him in the torso, causing Eli to fall to the ground. Eli groaned in pain and held the spot Miguel just punched.

"Stop whinin' like a little bitch! Get up!" Sensei yelled at him.

Eli stumbled back up. "Y/l/n! Come on! Show him what you got!" Sensei yelled. I walked up to Eli and got into fighting stance. "I'm sorry Eli..." I whispered. "It's fine." He whispered back.

I punched Eli hard in the shoulder. He let out a small groan and grabbed his shoulder. I tried to go a little easy on him, since he's been playing punching bag all day.

"Don't be a pussy! Punch him in the face!" Sensei yelled to me. "Come on, Sensei. He's been getting hit nonstop all day. He needs a break." I said.

"It's fine, y/n." Eli said quietly.

"I don't want to hear it! Get back in line, y/l/n!" Sensei yelled. I walked back to my spot and crossed my arms over my chest. Bert walked up to Eli now. He got into fighting stance and threw a punch right to Eli's balls.

Everyone let out 'oooo's as Eli fell to the ground in pain. I felt so bad for Eli. I put a hand over my mouth, imagining how much pain he's in right now.

Just then, Mr. LaRusso walked out of the dojo. "Sensei Lawrence. May I have a word with you?" He asked. Sensei nodded and told everyone to take a five minute break, before following Mr. LaRusso to the side of the dojo.

Everyone walked away. I stood in my spot and watched Eli as he walked into the dojo. I looked around and debated on whether I should follow him in or not.

I took a deep breath, before walking towards the dojo. I entered and saw Eli drinking his water. He hadn't noticed me yet, so I took a few steps closer. I think he heard my footsteps, because he turned around to face me.

"Oh, hey, y/n." He greeted. "Hey, Eli." I replied.

It was only us in the room and the silence between us was deafening. "How're you holding up?" I asked, breaking the silence. "Eh, I've been beaten worse, so..." He replied. I nodded silently.

Something behind me caught Eli's eye. He walked closer to the dojo wall and pointed. "This is pretty cool." He said, pointing at a painting that hung on the wall.

"You know," Demitri spoke from behind us. "That's where Mr. Miyagi's great-grandfather taught karate on the Okinawan waterfront." He explained.

Eli lightly touched the frame of the photo as he admired it. Chris and Nate walked in the room now too. Chris walked over to Eli and nudged Eli's hand off the picture. "Yo, be careful with that." He said.

Eli moved his hand and grinned. "Why, you think I'm gonna break it?" He asked. "You already broke a door." Chris pointed. "And you stole Mr. Miyagi's metal." He added.

"And you beat the shit out of me." Nate joined in.

"Hey, look... I'm really sorry about all that." Eli apologized.

"Go back with your little Eagle gang. You're not wanted here." Chris told him.

Eli looked sadly towards them, before looking over to Demitri. Demitri open his mouth to speak, but instead he sighed and looked away.

Eli then shook his head lightly and walked out of the dojo. Everyone watched him leave. Once Eli was gone, I looked back towards the three
Miyagi-Dos.

"I'm really disappointed in you guys." I told them, causing them all to look over to me. "He's changing his ways. He's apologized countless times, and he can't show you guys he's changing if you won't give him a chance to show you."

They looked down to the floor. "We're all in this together now." I said. "It's time to start acting like it." I added, before walking out of the dojo.

I walked out of the dojo to see Mr. LaRusso yelling after Eli, as Eli walked away. After Eli ignored him, Mr. LaRusso and Sensei started arguing again. A group of students were watching them fight. I walked over and joined the students.

The two men continued arguing as they walked away from the group. "As long as you're under my roof, they're both our students." Mr. LaRusso yelled.

"Oh, yeah, I know. Under what roof? We're outside!" Sensei argued.

Miguel looked over to me and sighed. I shrugged my shoulders and shook my head.

How will they ever get along?

I drove to practice today with Sensei and Miguel, so I rode back home with them as well. Miguel and I talked to Sensei about getting along with Mr. LaRusso, but Sensei wasn't having any of it.

We pulled into our apartment complex and exited Sensei's car. "Look I tried." Sensei said. "The only thing LaRusso and I have in common is hating Kreese. I thought that was enough, but it's not." He continued.

"There's gotta be a way to make it work!" I said. "You guys just have to connect." Miguel stated after me.

Then I heard, what sounded like someone clearing their throat, to the left of me. I glanced over, not expecting to see anything significant, but it was.
It really was.

I stopped in my tracks and stared as Miguel and Sensei kept walking.

Right in front of my apartment door, stood a boy.
A boy who has been ignoring all my calls and texts.

It was Henry.

He stood against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. We stared at each other for a moment before he spoke,

"We need to talk."
