Your brother screamed in such a high pitch, you could've sworn he sounded like a little girl.
"Okay-big bro-chill-"
"NO-HOW COULD I?!"
"Grrgh. Could you just be-SILENT?" Moon growled in frustration.
Your brother squeaked, before closing his mouth shut.
"What did I tell you about being nice?" Y/N scolded the animatronic.
"Huurgh. My apologies. Starlight."
"Ayo-what did you just call my little sibling?"
Moondrop glared at your big brother.
"You two should stop fighting, seriously." You ignored the nickname, Moon gave you.
"Sure~ anything for you~"
"-and stop being so cheesy."
"I doubt that I can contain myself~"
"AIGHT-THAT'S IT-" Your sibling snapped.
"Aren't compliments good? Tell me."
"Yes they are-BUT DON'T WORD IT LIKE THAT-"
"Exactly!" You agreed.
"Here on, I thought that saying nice things would ease the situation! Hhrgh." Moon grumbled.
The commotion caught the kids attention.
Then, one by one they all started to silently crowded by outside.
Watching the three of you bicker on about a rather amusing topic, some kids managed to snort a few chuckles here and there.
Moon took a glance at the children below, it struck him that now.
This time, they appreciate his existence before them.
But it all faded away as soon as his eyes met theirs, some flinched. Others scurried away.
The rest were frozen still.
Y/N noticed the progression.
Sure, the plan wasn't exactly set in motion.
Yet, they managed to improvise with a friendly argument is all.
So you took that chance to develop it further.
After all, you could feel his hope starting to grow.
"Moon, how did you even learn how to 'compliment', like this?" You distracted him.
"Can you even call it a compliment? It sounds like it was flirting with YOU-" Your brother retorted.
"Pardon me, BUT I'M NOT AN IT YOU LITTLE F-"
"OIYA-STOP! That's going too far-"
"Y/N, make that thing apologise to me! He was about to insult me-" Your sibling whined until you pinched his ear.
This made Moon laugh maniacally at what you've just done to silence your sibling.
"You also have to explain how you managed to learn and adapt this far."
"But-starlight-" Moon pleaded as he followed behind you whilst you dragged your brother out the playground.
"Don't try and flatter me with your weird compliments either! You're only allowed to say those to older people."
"Ha-ha... No wonder why Glamrock Freddy warned me-a-about Monty's s-suggestions-"
"Monty suggested you to say-THOSE?!" The child's brother asked in disbelief.
"Ooops~haha-my bad! Why, did that... disappoint you?" Moon mocked the young man.
"Nah-maybe I can also ask him about dating tips-"
"This is ridiculous..." You sighed.
"BAHAHA-as if a wimp like you could even get a date in the first place!"
"Your charms DIDN'T work at ALL-"
You swore that you were younger, but these two mentally deranged idiots made you think otherwise.
You let go of your brother and crawled away to the kids outside. Some were just sitting, and all of them grouped back again.
Watching as the drama unfold before you.
"At a rate of 1 to 10, what do you think of this fight?" You asked your fellow kids.
"7" A kid answered.
"11" Timmy replied after.
"Can't agree more." You concluded as you all comfortably watched the two supposed mature beings have a friendly argument in the area.
"Wonder who's gonna win." A little girl right beside you thought out loud.
"I'm rooting for Moon this time." A kid answered.
"Me two-" -and another.
"Me three!" Then, another.
Until almost all of them cheered on for the once disliked animatronic.
"Go-go-gooo!"
"Sleep paralysis demon-GOO-"
Moon heard everything.
It made him smile.
Not on purpose.
But, it was a genuine one.
That of pure happiness.
"Too bad you're a work in progress-"
"Ohoho-which leaves room for me to improve~" He menacingly approached the losing teen.
Your brother stumbled out the Playground followed suite by the Night attendant.
"-a-and also-for you to m-malfunction!" The teen said as his last resort.
The animatronic stiffened at what your brother just told him.
Bad memories.
They're all processing back on forth in his Central Processing Unit.
"Okay, bro. You've gone too far." You slapped your sibling at the back. Making him yelp in pain.
Moon's body started twitching more violently than before, making the kids cower again.
"Malfunction-malfunction... Yes-yes. I... recall..." Moon's voice was deeper than before.
"Now you made him feel bad! You happy now?!" Y/N whisper-yelled at their brother.
He shook his head solemnly.
Moon curled himself up in deep thought.
"I have failed to be a part of their design."
"My existence..."
"A-FLAW." Moon hissed in distaste.
By instinct, you ran up to comfort him.
"Moon."
"I am NOT..."
"Who I'm programmed to be..." He coiled away.
"Flaws make you..."
"You." Y/N reassured him.
"If fate made you this way. Then, I think it's perfect!"
The animatronic looked at you with unsure eyes.
"All I'd ever do is watch over."
"Tell kids to-go sleep"
"...and roam endlessly to find someone."
"Did that do anything?"
"It did nothing to help me."
"Didn't you do all those to me and became my friend already?"
"I... Yes. Only because, you were different."
"Aww! You think so?" You giggled on to lighten up the mood.
"Being around you. Makes me feel..."
"Happier." Moon admitted, hesitantly with a nervous smile.
"Me too." Y/N ran up and gave him the biggest.
Warmest.
Hug.
The kid could ever give.
"Thank..."
"You."
"Thank y-ou." His voice faltered.
"I can't repay your kindness to me." Moon whimpered on as he nuzzled his head on top of yours. Embracing you back.
"You don't have to." Y/N murmured.
"C'mon, let's make him feel better!" Timmy exclaimed, followed by a stampede of children hugging you both.
Moon didn't jolt in fear this time.
He let them hug along.
He chuckled warmly.
"Thank you all."
