Lily's POV
I really didn't want to go to the mall. Why couldn't they understand that? I was still in bed thinking of a good excuse for not wanting to go. I sat up and saw Linda had already chosen my outfit for that day. I would have gone back to bed but I didn't want to seem like a bad girl, that was the last thing I want to do. I decided to get a quick shower then got dressed. I then went downstairs for breakfast. ( Her outfit 👇)
I found the Linda and Jake waiting for me. I pecked both their cheeks and started eating. " Lily I hope you remember the rules.
1. No talking to strangers.
2. No running off.
3. Stay where we can see you.
4. Listen to what we tell you at all times."
Jake said in serious tone. I replied with a small ' yes ' and finished my breakfast. When it was time to leave , I felt like crying . I felt like locking myself in my room and cuddle with Lulu. I just hope everything goes well.

' Why are there so many people?' I thought as I held Linda and Jake's hand. " Relax Lily, just remember the rules and everything will be fine, I promise. " Linda said. I looked at them with pleading eyes. I wanted to go back home. Jake bought me ice cream and it helped me calm down. We took so many pictures and bought lots of stuff. Turns out the mall wasn't as bad as I thought.
We were at a small restaurant. I had been trying to convince them to let me go to the washroom. " Lily, do you really need to go? " Asked Linda. I quickly nodded and said, " Please Linda , please Jake, please," I begged. " Fine but hurry up, we need to go back home." I thanked them .
Once I was done, I saw a little frightened grey kitten. The poor little thing was shaking at the corner . I walked towards it , forgetting the rules. I kneeled down and tried carrying it. " Hey there little kitten... please don't be scared, I promise I won't hurt you. I'm just trying to help you." I said softly. As if the cat understood me, it leaned to my touch. I carried her carefully. " Where's your mummy? ... Do you want me to help you look for her." I stared at it as if it would answer me. I walked around not paying attention to where I was going. ( The kitten 👇)
When I couldn't find it's mummy, I decided I'll take it to Linda and Jake. It was then I noticed I didn't recognize my surroundings. I couldn't remember the way back to the restaurant. Gosh! How could I be so careless?
I saw a bunch of guys leaning in a wall. They were all really tall and masculine. I knew I shouldn't talk to strangers but really needed help.
As I approached them, I ignored my conscience warnings. I felt like those men would crush me just by snapping their fingers. There were six of them . I poked one of them to get their attention while holding the grey kitten on my other hand. The man turned and looked down at me. I didn't like judging people but this needed to do something about his hair and breath .

" Excuse me, could you please help me? I am lost and..." He cut me off by grabbing my wrist a bit too tightly and startled the kitten. " Aren't you a cute little thing," He said. I thought he was referring to the car but when I found out it was me, I blushed and looked down while trying to hide my red cheeks. I heard some of them let out a few ' aww' " We could definitely have some fun!" He said. I immediately became excited and looked up at him again. " Really?! We're going to be such good friends. We can sleepovers, tea partys' and play with Lulu. But you really need to help me find Linda and Jake." I said with a pout at the end. He stared at me like I was crazy. He then smirked and said, " It looks today we have an innocent one." He said with an evil tone. They all laughed and trapped me against the wall. I was confused and for some unknown reason, I was scared. He tightened his grip.
The next thing I knew was, they took my kitten and started hitting it as I was pulled to a secluded alley. I tried screaming and fighting them but it didn't seem to affect them. " I-I thought y-you wanted t-to have fun," I sobbed. They laid me on the ground as two of them held me down. He started taking off my shirt slowly. I panicked and struggled to break free.
" Which g-game is this? I-I don't want to have f-fun anymore, please," I begged helplessly. I had never played a game where one hast to take off his or her clothes. One of them started kissing my exposed stomach. " god she smells good! I bet she tastes good too!" What was going on? Eat me? Are they vampires or something? I kept screaming only for a cloth to be put on my mouth.
I couldn't make any sound. I felt so helpless in their arms. Just as they were about to take off all my clothes, I was relieved to see Linda and Jake with some policemen. They arrested all those men. Jake covered me with his coat and Linda hugged me.

On the way back, they tried talking to me but I remained quiet and hugged Mumu ( the grey kitten ) . I wished I never left the house. People will always try to hurt me even if I haven't done anything wrong to them. As soon as they parked the car, I ran to my room . " Mumu, this is my room. You can sleep on the bed but tomorrow I'll make you your own. Oh! I have to introduce you to Lulu." Mumu just stared at me then went back to sleeping.
The reason I didn't want to talk to Linda and Jake was because I knew they were mad at me, sometimes I felt like I was a burden to them. I couldn't even sleep in peace, everytime I closed my eyes, I saw them . Mumu stood up up and went under the bed. " You're scared, aren't you?" If you want to stay there then I'll stay there with you." I said and all she did was meow . I quickly changed into my pajamas and hid under the bed with her. ( Her pajama👇)
I talked to Mumu for a while when the door was opened. I tried to be as quiet as possible and looked at Linda's and Jake's feet. " Lily, where are you?" Just listening at Linda's sad voice made me tear up. I let out a small sob. Jake sighed and pulled me from under the bed.
We sat on the bed with me between them. " I'm s-sorry" I said. " Shh, what happened wasn't your fault." Jake said softly. " I-I thought I had made a new friend. H-He said we would have fun." For the next thirty minutes , they comforted me and the best part is, I got Lulu back.
When they left, I slept and wished never to leave the house again. Many people are like them. I still have a few scars , scars that will always remind me of my past.
One week later
Linda's POV. (This is her last POV)
Why do people have to be so cruel?. I nearly lost it when I couldn't find Lily at the mall. I would never forgive myself if something bad happened to her! I made mistakes in the past that I wouldn't wish to repeat.
Flashback 6 years ago
I was angry Mother told me to take care of that little brat. April was old enough to take care of herself! Who the fuck babysits a teenager. god I hate her.
Speaking of which, here she comes. " I have a surprise for you Lin. " She said excitedly. I looked at her uninterested. She doesn't deserve to be happy if I can't. I tried kicking her out of my room but she didn't leave. I ended up slapping her.
I got bored and decided to leave her home. I locked the door because I knew she wasn't a fan of coming outside. I was just about to reach the gate when I heard her shouting, " why did you lock the door? Please don't leave me. I also want to go where you're going." " And what if I don't?! I just want some time alone but you want to ruin it. You'll have to stay inside! ... I fucking hate you. I just wish you would leave me for good." I said harshly.
She looked so heartbroken. Fuck! She was going to cry. " Do you really hate me that much?" She asked in a quiet voice. She didn't even let me reply before closing the curtain. So dramatic!
Two hours later
I was going back home when I received a call from mum. She wanted me to go back home immediately. I rolled my eyes but quickened my walking pace.
I wished I never left the house. The sight before me was... I can't even find the right word to explain. Everything was broken and April was nowhere to be found!
A few days later, it was reported that her body was found in a river. Apparently, some thieves had broke into our house and they kidnapped April. I don't think you want to know the things they did to her.
End of flashback
Maybe April would have been here if I hadn't locked that door. I never got over the pain. I am the reason my innocent sister was taken.
When I saw Lily at the train station. She reminded me of April. I decided I would take her with me ,maybe she would help me heal the wounds in my heart and she did. I don't think I'll be able to bear the pain all over again.

MARAFIKI! I missed you so much. I know I had promised to update during my half term. I'm so sorry I delayed. I just want you guys to know I'll be home for only ten days and I'll probably update three
chapters.
I'll rewrite this chapter later because I am so sleepy . I arrived home at 7pm and now it's 11:18pm.
