"So doc? What's wrong with y/n" Jungkook asked
He was sitting alone in the doctor's room with the doctor. Y/n was in another room, finishing her tests.
"Well, she's fine now.." the doctor spoke
"What are you hiding?" Jungkook asked in a serious voice
"Uh- um...I wasn't the one hiding something, it's your sister" the doctor said
"What? What was she hiding" Jungkook asked getting impatient by the minute
"She was at stage 2 of cancer before...the results of the tests we did showed that she is at stage 4 now. And there's no cure for cancer...and because of this drug someone put in her, she has few minutes left" he said
"What?! No! No! Stop lying, just stop! I'm going to my sister. She'll be fine!"
"Sir-"
Jungkook ran out of the room without listening to the doctor. It all happened in slow realization. He saw her. On the bed. Eyes closed. The heart rate monitor wasn't working anymore. The waves on the screen flattened down to straight line.
Beep...beep..beeeeeeeeeep.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
PRESENT TIME
Jungkook shot up straight from his sleep in cold sweat. His eyes adjusted to the sunrise occurring from the gap between his curtains inside his room. He smiled and calmed his tensed state.
"It was just a dream" he whispered
Calming down his breath, he went outside his room.
It was Christmas today but another normal day at the Kim's. They didn't celebrate it ever since their real mom left and their dad became cold and distant. Jin, as the eldest, always tried to help them grow out of their cold moods.
"What the hell is taehyung doing there on the floor?" he thought when he saw tae sleeping on a pillow.
"He's out of his mind!?" Jungkook spoke bewildered
Jungkook threw taehyung back into his room, and he then went to check on y/n. He was so worried last night that it even meddled in his dreams. His worries faded when he saw his sister sleeping peacefully in her room.
Then, his face changed. He moved towards the bed and pulled the covers. As expected, those were just a bunch of pillows.
"Huh?! Where's y/n!" he shouted confused
"The heck?! Whose making all that noise!" Jin shouted from the other room
Slowly, all the boys came out of their rooms in their pjs. Jungkook told them that y/n had disappeared from her room. But then, they heard a noise downstairs. It was y/n's.
"So beautiful!" her muffled shout was heard
They rushed downstairs to see an amazing sight. Y/n was staring in awe as the maids fixed ornaments on the tree. There were presents at the bottom too. All of them were astonished.
"Woah" Jimin was the first one to speak
"Oh you all are awake. Finally, here's the surprise" y/n said
"Merry Christmas!" she cheered
"When I heard that you all stopped celebrating it, I had to step in" she continued
"GUYS! OPEN UP YOUR GIFTS HURRY" Y/n jumped in joy
"Excuse me?! Young lady you are supposed to be resting. Not jumping up and down" Jin said almost shook
"Yeah yeah later~"
They started opening their gifts. Everyone was excited even though some *cough* Yoongi and taehyung *cough* didn't seem to show it. Y/n had two of her presents delivered by the post man from hyunjin and Lisa. She even gave her presents to them through the post too.
Hyunjin gave her a bag she really wanted and Lisa gave her a beautiful best friend's locket. She gave hyunjin a watch from a brand he liked and Lisa a locket too.
As for bts, she picked out things from before while shopping and gave them. She gave all of them gifts. Apparently, most of them had bought gifts secretly for y/n too. Tae just stood back and didn't know how to respond when y/n handed him a Gucci bag.
"Didn't you buy a gift for her back?" Jimin whispered to him
He shook his head. Jimin shrugged and walked back because there was no point in buying it now. Taehyung, also went back after secretly hiding the gift he bought for y/n back in his room. He was a bit shy because he had to keep his cold 'I didn't accept her' face on.
"By the way, remember on the wedding day...we all received a gift in seven bags on our table? Was that you y/n?" Hobi asked
"Oh- uhm maybe" she said after being exposed
"I loved it! I knew it was you!" Jungkook said
"I was touched. You have great gift giving taste" Namjoon spoke
"Well, now that we've opene the gifts. Let's make cookies!" Jin said
"Christmas cookies! Delicious" Namjoon said
"You aren't allowed in the kitchen mister destruction king" Yoongi said
"Thanks for reminding" Namjoon said rolling his eyes
"I prefer Christmas kookie" jungkook smirked and laughed
"Wait wait wait. Where do you all think you're going?" Y/n smirked
"To the kitchen?" Hobi said confused
"I see that you didn't open my last present to you...ugly Christmas sweaters" she laughed like a devil
"Well, we have no choice. Everyone put them on. You too tae" Jin said
The wore their ugly Christmas sweaters and went to the kitchen to make cookies. After a while, a warm, scrumptious and mouthwatering aroma filled the house.
They enjoyed the Christmas of a lifetime after years. Seeing Jungkook and Jimin sneakily eat more Christmas cookies than they could have, seeing Jin run after them for stealing the cookies, seeing Namjoon read a book while hobi listened and seeing Yoongi and y/n cuddled up inside the blanket by the fire to keep warm.
It was a beautiful moment in the eyes of taehyung, who was watching it from afar. A smile crept to his face unknowingly.
"This marriage might not be the worst thing to have happened I suppose"
NIGHT TIME
The freezing weather outside made them all shudder. Luckily, they were saved by the fireplace and Jin's tasty hot chocolate. They sat near the fire, on the couch or below under blankets while sipping on the warm and snug hot chocolate. The warmth, comfortable feeling came back.
Everyone was so sleepy and drowsy in the cozy atmosphere. Y/n was fighting to stay awake more than anyone due to the lack of sleep she got last night.
"I was so happy when y/n said oppa the first time" Jimin said
"Oh I know right! I always wanted a sister too" Jin said agreeing with Jimin
"After always taking care of these bulls, i always longed for a little sister" he said
"Who are you calling bulls?" Jungkook said grumpily
"You. Especially you mister" jin replied to him
"Can't yall like...stop fighting and let me enjoy the second of peace in my life" Yoongi said
"Nah" Jin and Jungkook said at the same time
"What about you y/n, share your side of the story" Namjoon spoke, being considerate as always
"Me? Well, I've always been an only child. And I'd have died for a sibling back then" y/n said
"Why? I'd die for a peaceful day without these people bothering my naps" Yoongi said totally ignoring the looks he was getting by the others
"Thanks" taehyung sarcastically spoke
"Well, look on the bright side you have. You guys get to play board games together, and if one gets in trouble the other has your back, and even if you don't have friends you have someone at least, you can share your problems and all the more" y/n answered
"Me, I've always been bored at home on a great weekend or holiday that I should have been spending outside with friends or family like normal teens do. I didn't have friends back then and neither a sibling. Just me. Even mom had to work many jobs after dad left. So I hate that life" she said
"Wow, your speech makes me actually feel...lucky to have these idiots with me" Jimin said
"And these 'idiots' also are happy to have you" jungkook said
Y/n was way too sleepy or something because after that she told even more about her life. One thing after another. And they listened while also talking back.
"Wait what flashbacks?" Hobi asked
"You know *yawns* glass breaking, the storm, I don't know the details" she said sleepily

"Now I feel sad for you" Jimin said
"Don't! Don't pity me. I hate that. *yawns* as I was saying those flashbacks made it so much more harder. And I didn't have mom around to *yawns* go to. She was working too much. And I know she must have been in so much pain. I tried so hard to *yawns* make things work" she aid
"Unfortunately, I gave up. And then, one day after I said goodbye to my new friends Lisa and hyunjin, I didn't go home. *yawns* I went to a cliff. And I a-almost, almost jumped off"
"What?!" Jin said almost dropping his mug
"Why y/n?" Namjoon asked sadly
"Yeah, I'm about to cry. Because if it was gone according to your plan then, you wouldn't be here now" Jimin said sadly
"Y/n, don't you dare do things like this in the future ever. Now you've got us!" Hobi said
"Never ever." Yoongi spoke
"Yeah, *yawns* and like I was saying you know suicide...but then-" she suddenly stopped
"But then what?" Jungkook asked turning to her
She had already fallen asleep. Jin slightly chuckled deeply. They all got up. Jungkook carried his one and only little sister and tucked her in her bed. He came back down to keep his mug away.
"Just let her be, she'll tell us when she wants to. Don't force it out of her tomorrow" Yoongi warned them all
"Okay Y/n's number one protector kitty" jin spoke
"It's okay. I'm just kidding, I know what you mean. We all do" Jin said as the others nodded
They knew about Yoongi's own incident. When he was bullied before and almost did jump but Jin was always there and helped him. Jungkook and taehyung washed the mugs. Hobi lit out the fire. And then, everyone went up to their rooms to sleep.
Taehyung went inside y/n's room and placed a small snow globe on the bedside table. It had a small winter bear inside it and the letters 'forever' engraved below it.
"Merry Christmas sister" he whispered before leaving. He shut the door.
"Merry Christmas oppa" she whispered in her sleep
