My eyes fluttered open to see the sun bright and shining.
Morning already.
"Goodmorning love," L said bringing me into cuddle.
"Goodmorning Honey," I said kissing the tip of his nose.
"What time is it?," I yawned.
"7:15," He responded.
"Well we gotta get up and get to work then," I said starting to get up.
"Work can wait. I want cuddles," He said stretching his arms around me.
"This isn't like you. Is something wrong?," I questioned.
"No nothing's wrong. I just want my Morticia," He said in a husky morning voice tone.
"Alright. But remember the team is going to be here soon," I said leaning into him.
"I know," L said snuggling his head into my chest.
"Your so warmmm," He hummed at me.
"Hyuk, Hyuk,"
"AH! RYUK! Jesus christ don't do that!," I shouted at him.
"Hyuk, got any apples?,"
"Yeah, they're in the kitchen. Now let us cuddle," I said agitated.
"Mood killer," L said under his breathe and sitting up.
"I know right," I said getting up out of the bed.
We both got ready and went out into the living room we used as the office.
"Morticia do you have File 349?," L asked calmly.
"Yes, the one on Naomi Misora?," I asked.
"Yes. Can I see it for a moment?," He asked me.
"Sure," I said bringing it to him.
Something caught my eye once I handed it to him.
"RYUK! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GET DOWN FROM THERE!," I shouted at him.
He was on the ceiling. And little did I know the team just walked in before I said that.
"Who's Ryuk?," Matsuda asked.
"Ryuk?," Aizawa questioned.
"Morticia why are you yelling?," Cheif Yagami asked.
At that moment I knew....I fucked up.
L and I were trying to keep Ryuk a secret.
"Oh! Uhm Ryuk-" I stuttered out.
"Morticia just tell them the truth," L said starring at his computer not fased at all.
"Alright then. Touch this," I held out the Death Note for them all to touch.
Mogi was the first to touch it. "Oh. That's odd," He didn't seem fased.
Matsuda was next. "AH! WHAT IS THAT?!"
Aizawa went after him. "WHAT THE HELL?!"
And then the Cheif. "What in the world?!" He didn't seem as shocked as the rest.
I spoke up. "Ryuk is a Shinigami,"
(So this is just a catch up for what I didnt write. So there is a murderer but it's not Kira. It's a surprise for who it is. But that's why the team is here with us and L.)
"A shinigami?," They all said.
"Yes," I turned around and smacked Ryuk in the head.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR MORTICIA!,"
"You were being stupid," I said firmly.
"True. Got any more apple's love birds?,"
"Yes we do," I said and tossed him one.
"Lovebirds?," Matsuda questioned.
The team didn't know about L and myself.
"Oh. I forgot you didn't know," L said looking at Naomi Misora's file.
"Didn't know what?," Aizawa asked confused as ever.
"Didn't know we were together," L said turning toward them.
"All this time?," The cheif said in disbelief.
"Morticia! You didn't tell me?!," Matsuda yelled in half excitement and shock.
"I never thought that L would be with someone," Aizawa said snickering.
"Shut it Aizawa," The cheif said anger and lightly swatting him on the shoulder.
"Yeah, shut it Aizawa!," Matsuda said trying to be tough.
"Matsuda you too," He replied giving him a stern look.
I got a notification on my laptop. I went over to it to see what it was.
"Beyond Birthday..." I said under my breath.
"What did you say Y/n?," L said
My eyes bulged open. I was speechless.
Flashback to Whammy's House
We were playing hide and seek.
"Beyondddd. Where are you?," I called.
"Hehehe" He giggle from behind a huge oak tree.
"FOUND YOU!" I said tapping him.
"Yes you did," Beyond replied.
"You wanna hang out? I'm getting bored of playing hide and seek. After all were 16 now," I said.
"Yeah. What do you want to talk about?," Beyond asked.
"Well, I've been very scared to tell my crush I like them..." I said cautious of what he might say.
"Oh really? Who is your crush?," He asked.
He knew who my crush was. And he was crushed it wasn't him. He would've done anything to have me. And that's exactly what he tried to do.
"You cant tell anyone but it's L," I whispered.
"Really? L? Of all people," He said rolling his eyes trying to be supportive.
"Yeahh. Wait what do you mean of all people?," I said slightly uncomfortable.
"Because he's L and he's fucking annoying. But in all honesty I thought you were going to say me," He said laying down on the grass.
"Sorry Beyond. I think of you as my best friend," I said sitting next to him.
He did not like that remark. That's when he got up without a word and left.
I was worried for him. I hadn't seen him in 2 weeks. He was definitely avoiding me. But today was the day I was going to ask L out.
"Hey L!," I said running across the grass after lunch.
"Hey Morticia," L said.
"I have a question," We both said at the same time.
"You go first," He insisted.
"No no it's fine mine can wait," I replied.
"No I insist you go first," He replied.
"Okay fine. Well I-I like you," I said embarrassed.
"Really? I like you too Y/n. But that wasn't a question," He said and got up off the bench.
"I know I know. So what was your question...?," I asked.
"Oh. I was going to ask if you wanted to go on a date?," He said holding his hand out.
"Oh yes! Of course!" I said taking his hand.
"Is tonight alright with you?," He asked politely.
"Yes!" I said excitedly.
"Okay. I'll see you after dinner," He said and walked back inside.
My heart fluttered. Did he really just ask me that?? Is this real? Pinch yourself to make sure.
"Ow. Definitely not a dream," I said and went back inside.
It was getting later in the day and it was almost time for dinner.
"Dinner time children!" Roger bellowed through the halls.
The little kids rushed down while the older kids took a moment to let them go by.
I didn't see Beyond at dinner.
L had been preparing for our date outside on the little patio with a stone bench away from the orphanage.
L came back inside to get dinner though.
Soon dinner was over and children were rushing to bed.
L spotted me and said "Ready?,"
"Yep!" I said cheerfully.
I was wearing my casual clothes, just like him. He brought me to the old stone patio. The moonlight shone through the trees onto that one area.
"Wow. L this is beautiful," I said breaking the silence.
He had set up a small blanket with desserts on it. And on the edge of the stone patio there was a few candles.
He smiled at me and we sat down.
We star gazed then snuggled up together. This was the best day ever.
I fell asleep on him and he picked me up and brought me inside.
"L you don't have to carry me," I said laying in his arms.
"Shh it's okay. I'll take you to your room," He replied.
"Okay. Thank you," I said and snuggled into his white shirt.
He laid me down onto my bed and told me goodnight and he went back to his room.
I went to sleep for about 2 hours and then I heard a creak.
I brushed it off as nothing.
I heard another.
And another. This is starting to freak me
out.
I stayed quiet until I saw a figure next to my door.
"L? Is that you?," I asked rubbing my eyes.
"No. It's not L," The cold voice said coming closer.
"Then who is it?," I said sitting up.
"You know who it is," He said getting right infront of me.
"Beyond! I haven't seen you in 2 weeks! What happened to you?," I asked.
"Nothing happened to me Y/n," He said coldly.
"What's wrong B?," I asked concerningly.
"I don't like you being with him," He said backing me into my bed.
I slightly pushed him away and said "Why not?,"
"Because if I can't have you no one can," Beyond held a knife in his hand and stuck it in MY right side of my stomach.
I felt the blade plunge deep into me.
"B-Bey-eyond," I said and he laid me down on my bed while he took out the knife making me bleed more.
He discreetly got out of there and back into his room. He had turned the cameras on loop so no one was seen in there.
I laid there until morning. Not being strong enough to say anything.
I almost bled out.
It was 5 am. I heard footsteps and faintly said "h-help," That was all I could bear.
L's POV:
5 am I saw on the clock.
I couldn't sleep so I got up to get some water.
I faintly heard "h-help,"
I rushed into Morticia's room and saw she was deadly bleeding.
Morticias's POV:
L was standing by the doorway and rushed over to help me.
He shouted "WATARI HELP!"
Watari heard him and came running.
"Morticia what happened?," L asked before Watari came in.
Watari walked in. "MORTICIA! Dear I will get emergency aids," And he rushed out and called an ambulance.
"Beyond. He stabbed me," I managed out.
"Beyond did this?," L said quietly.
"Yes. Please help me," I said to him.
"Paramedics will be here any second Y/n hold on," Watari said from the hall.
"Thank you," I said quietly.
The paramedics arrived and got me onto a stretcher.
"I want to go with her," L said to them.
"Well you have to get in then," One of them said as they loaded me in.
L got in and held my hand.
It felt like the longest ride in the world. But it was only 5 minutes because they had their sirens on.
We arrived at the hospital and L wasn't allowed in the emergency room.
He wasn't happy but he waited.
They gave me stitches and after about an hour or two I woke up to see L holding my hand.
His head was down. He was so disappointed he couldn't keep me safe.
"L," I said squeezing his hand.
"Morticia! Your awake." He said sounding relieved.
"I love you L." I said looking into his eyes.
"I love you too Morticia." He said looking into mine.
We sat there for a minute until Watari came in and said "Morticia Beyond has been caught. Please rest up without worries,"
"Thank you Watari,"
