"Won! Stop this nonsense! We can't play something like this!"

Jay angrily fastened his eyes on Jungwon. Rages filled his body. And with little force, he put down his mug harshly.

The act shook Jungwon a bit. Nervousness crept in his body. But he didn't budge from his position. Concealing his expression, he gulped nervously as he tried to utter a word.

"Why would I play something like this?! Even if I was just an acquaintance to him, I still feel concerned about him!"

Jay pinched the bridge of his nose. Trying to process the information, he remained absolutely still.

"I'm sorry. I should've let my emotions took over me."

Jay walked closer to Jungwon and hugged him. With heavy heart, he sighed sadly. Not even a second later, Jungwon heard sniffles coming from the latter.

"But he was just fine when we were there."

"He's in such a critical state that time..."

As if the time had froze, Jay didn't move a single muscle. Only his sobs echoed in the massive living room.

Ring!

"Jay... It's your phone," Jungwon softly informed.

Jay couldn't see clearly as tears and tears accumulating in his eyes. And thus, he picked it up nonchalantly.

"Hello?"

"Hi Jay," it was his dad.

"Dad..."

Jay's sniffles could be heard as it crescendoed.

"It's about Jake. He had..."

Not even letting his father finish, Jay fall harshly onto his knees. He didn't dare to listen to the confessions.

As if everything had stopped, his emotions didn't took over him anymore. Neither do he cry nor scream. He felt nothing. Emptiness filled his heart. It's like he had fallen into a dark hole, swollen by the abyss.

Everything was just too vague for him.

"Jay..."

So, it was real.

"Won... I need to go somewhere... I'll be back soon."

Driving his car, he navigated toward the house he wanted to reach. And upon reaching, he noticed it was almost vacant. There weren't any cars on the yard as usual. And thus, Jay retrieved into his car.

They're not here...

"Jay?"

Jay spun his head. Scanning the site, he saw Sunghoon on the doorway. He came up to the latter. His expression didn't show any sign of grief.

"Hoon, where are you going?"

"I just knew Jake was sick. So I want to pay him a visit."

Sunghoon smiled awkwardly. Jay however scanned the latter in confusion.

"What?"

"I eavesdropped my parents' conversation last night and I heard Jake was sick."

"No. I knew that but why would you meet him again?"

The tension on Jay heightened. In addition, he didn't try to conceal his expression anymore. And Sunghoon just laughed awkwardly at Jay.

"Why? Is it wrong?"

"It is wrong! The moment you left him is wrong! The marriage is a mistake! You shouldn't have married him!"

Sunghoon took few steps back. He could feel the rages radiating from Jay. The tension was once again heightened. With how Jay looked, Sunghoon gulped nervously. And precisely, Jay's act shook Sunghoon a bit. It was intimidating to see Jay in such state.

"I'm sorry if I'm a bastard. It's a mistake, I know. But I'm really concerned. He was so pale last week when we met on court."

"Oh! So you notice?!"

"Jay! Stop! Why are you always being like this!"

"I don't know! Maybe if you were that good enough, he wouldn't have died!"

What?

Sunghoon stared blankly at the latter. And without much thought, he laughed sarcastically. Jay however maintained his expression. His orbs were burning with rages as he peered at Sunghoon.

"Haha! I'm not that foolish, Jay. But honestly, you got me there for a second."

Without furthering their conversation, Jay retrieved from the patio. Sunghoon trailed behind him. Sprinting a bit to match Jay's pace.

"Jay!"

Jay calmed himself down. Taking few breathes, he finally peered at Sunghoon.

"You're kidding right? It isn't true, is it?"

Jay remained silence.

"Jay! Answer me!"

"Why would I joke on something like this?"

As if he was out of his mind, he laughed maniacally. The laughter echoed. Jay stared blankly at Sunghoon. And gradually, the laughs shifted into cries.

"Hoon..."

"Let me drive..."

Without Jay's agreement, Sunghoon snatched the key from his grip, sprinting toward the driver's seat. And when he was inside, he ushered Jay to hop in quickly. The car was turned on and it sped up swiftly. Jay hold onto his seat.

"Sunghoon! Slow the car down! You'll crash if..."

The car almost flew as Sunghoon overtook the other vehicles.

"Hoon! Slow the fucking car down!"

"We're here."

Even with numerous pleads, Sunghoon just ignored Jay. Swiftly, he hopped out from the car and headed toward the front desk. All the guilts were consuming him. He didn't want to believe it at all cost.

"Jay where's him?"

Jay came up to the desk. He beamed a smile toward the nurse.

"Excuse me, where's the mortuary?"

"Head northeast after you passed the first corridor."

Jay nodded and pulled Sunghoon. The moment they arrived there, all of people he recognised too well was there. Sitting on the benches.

"Jay. Oh you've come," Jungwon ran toward him.

"Won? How did you get here?"

"Sunoo fetched me from your apartment and... Sunghoon?"

"He's in there, isn't it?" Sunghoon interrupted the conversation between the two.

Without even a reply from the latter, Sunghoon fall onto his knees. He felt like his world was crashing. He scanned through the narrow aisle, a door at the end of the aisle peeked his attention.

He was inside...

"Sunghoon..."

It was Mrs. Shim. It was her voice. Even though he couldn't see it clearly. He knew it was her. The figure approached him slowly.

It was all his faults. He put Jake into an endless suffering. It was all him that Jake was gone.

"Sunghoon... This is from Jake."

There's a letter in front of him. The cover had a dog sticker on it. The scent was Jake's. His hand reached for the letter. Even after what he had put the Jake into. Even with his last breath, Jake put all his energy to write it down.

And as he opened the letter, he cried in agony. The words were beautiful. Just like Jake, the letter itself manifested Jake's presence. And with that he hold it tightly.

I'm so sorry Jake.
