I was secretly hoping to go a little further when naturally, Dylan's phone started buzzing (oddly against my leg.)

"Fuck," he muttered and took himself off of me. He stood up and put the phone to his ear impatiently. "What?" he said in an annoyed tone.

I watched his beautiful face expressions as he listened and I could tell he was going to have to leave me. And I was right.

He hung up the phone and heaved a big sigh. "They need me at work for something. I don't know how long it will take." He reached his hand out to me and helped me up. "I'm sorry. If I don't take long do you want to meet up again?"

I shrugged. "Sure I guess, if it doesn't take too long. But it probably will." (Such a pessimist, I am).

So basically, he thought I was saying no because he looked bummed out. "Well," he began, "Let's pick this up." We picked up and blanket and leftover food, and placed it all in the basket.

He held my hand back to the truck and opened the door for me. When he got in the truck and turned on the engine, he asked, "So how long is too long?"

I shrugged again. "Ummm.....like two hours? I don't know. I don't want to leave Emma out."

"So you want to bring Emma on our date next time?" he asked. He sounded a teensy smart-assy.

"I am staying with her you know. I came to see her it's rude if I never even hang out with her."

He nodded his head. "How long are you staying by the way?"

I looked down. Now I was bummed out at the thought of leaving. "I don't know. It just depends."

"On what?" he asked.

"On...." I was debating saying it. "If you want me to stay."

In that instant, he looked over at me with this hint of a grin. "Ok," he started, "So if I did want you to stay, how long would you stay for? I mean, is it so we can go on a few more dates or what?"

Great, I thought. I shouldn't have even said anything. Now I look like a complete imbecile. I shrugged once more. "I don't know. Nevermind."

"Why are you saying nevermind? I just want to know what you mean."

I was starting to get aggitated. Was it not obvious I effing liked him? I thought he liked me but apparently not that much. "I thought we were hitting it off, nevermind!" I said snobbishly.

"We are hitting it off. I just wanted to hear you say that."

"Why?" I narrowed my eyes when I asked.

This time he shrugged. "I just like to hear you say that you like me."

Thank goodness he was pulling up at Emma's house. I was done with this conversation! I hurried up and unbuckled my seatbelt. He had barely stopped the truck when I had my hand on the handle opening the door. "Thanks for the picnic," I mustered a smile and hopped out of the truck and hurried around to the sidewalk.

"Hey!" he shouted at me. I had tried to hurry past him. I stopped and looked at him, arms crossed, wanting to hide. "I didn't mean to make you mad," he said.

"You didn't," I lied. I faked a smile and walked away from his truck.

I walked into Emma's room and walked right back out. I wanted to write down the events happening in my life, so I grabbed my keys and hopped in my car to drive to the supplies shop for a journal.

I had to park around the corner from the shop. I went in and picked out a purple/yellow chevron journal, paid and walked out the store five minutes later. As I rounded the corner someone ran right into me!

"Sorry," they sort of mumbled, like they didn't really care. I met eyes with this person and I wish I hadn't. He was super creepy. He was blonde and had an ugly face, but he looked oddly familiar in a way. I did a courtesy "it's ok" smile and hurried back to my car. I casually glanced down the road before I opened my passenger side to place my bag in when I noticed it.

What the fuck? I thought. It was Dylan's truck parked right across from a boutique I went in one of the first days I was here. Instantly, I felt lied to. I thought he had to go to work?! I was not about to text him. For one, I look like a stalker, and two, we aren't even dating, so it's not my place. I stared at it while I wondered what the hell was up when he came out of the boutique door and I ducked and ran around to the driver's side of my car. I got in and peered in my mirror. I watched him drive away. What in tarnation? I don't even know right now...I got to get back and write in my journal.

I headed back up the stairs to the house and walked in. I didn't even look up as I headed to Emma's room when I heard a "Hey, Ginny." I gasped so loudly and flung my arms. As if today wasn't getting any more psychotic, there was Norman Bates standing in the kitchen drinking a glass of orange juice! I know I accidently gave him a shitty look when I asked, "Hey...what are you doing here?"

"Well I work downstairs. I've been learning taxidermy." He did his weird smile headbob thing.

"Oh...." Fucking creep, I thought. You WOULD play with dead animals. I nodded once to let him know I am going on my way when he stopped me again. "How was your picnic. With Dylan?" He smirked and sipped his drink.

I don't like the fact he even knows about that. Ugh, he was probably spying on us. I wish I hadn't thought of that, it sent shivers down my spine. "Fine," I said and hurried to Emma's room. I shut the door and rolled the hell out of my eyes. WEIRDO! I wrote in my journal. I wrote and wrote and wrote. My hand was cramping up a storm. I looked at the clock. Wow, Emma should be here soon. It had been two hours since Dylan dropped me off. I checked my phone and he had texted me. "Damn, it's been two hours. Guess I can't see you later, huh?"

I didn't even bother answering. I didn't feel like it. He was going to see that I read it but I don't care. I decided to call my mom.

"Hey honey! I am so glad to hear your voice I miss you like crazy!" My mom exclaimed.

"I miss you too! I just wanted to call and talk to you."

"Is it about Dylan?" she asked. I had been texting her while I was here, so she knows about him. "Yeah...it was so awkward. He asked me how long I was going to stay and I told him it depended on if he wanted me to stay."

"What did he say?"

"He asked me if it was so we could go on a few more dates! What the heck is that?!"

"Is that what you said?"

"No, I said 'nevermind'. And I told him I thought we were hitting it off. He said he liked when I said stuff like that. I don't know, I feel so stupid about it.

"Well, honey. How long do you plan on staying?"

"Ugh! I don't know! Mom, I feel close to him. Especially when we kiss...I..I...I dunno..."

The phone got quiet before mom calmy asked "Do you love him?"

I almost shed a tear. How pathetic of me! She hit the spot. "I can't! I just met him! I don't even know him!"

"Honey, sometimes things just work like this. Some people believe in love at first sight. It happens."

"I feel crazy! He probably thinks I am, too!"

"He might. But he also might feel the same way. You never know until you ask."

"I fee like it's too soon to ask."

"Well just stay longer then. See how it goes. You two might fall in love and you might want to get a job down there and even move. You just never know until you try."

"Thanks mom."

"You're welcome, baby. How is Emma doing?"

"Fine."

"That's good. And Uncle Will?"

"Ok, I guess."

"What about that Norman?"

"Ugh! Creepy as always! I just ran into him. He freakin works as a taxidermist! He's so weird. AND I ran into some weirdo on the way out of the store which reminds me! I completely forgot to tell you. I saw Dylan's truck. I saw him come out of a shop when he told me he had to go to work!"

"Hmmm...well, maybe he just had to pick something up."

"At a woman's boutique?!"

She laughed. "I don't know, honey."

At that moment Emma walked through the door. "Hey mom, Emma's here. I'll talk to you later. Love you." She told me she loved me as well and we hung up.

Emma had a sneaky grin. "How was your picnic?"

"Fine."

"What? Just fine?"

I relayed what happened for the third time (journal, mom, Emma). She kind of acted like it was no big deal that he made me feel stupid. She also asked me if I was going to answer his text and see him. "I don't know. Doubt it."

"Well, actually..."

"What?"

"Norma invited us over for dinner again. So you more than likely will be seeing him."

"Oh, well that's fine." I was kind of glad. I texted Dylan back. "Emma told me Norma invited us over for dinner, so I guess I will see you."

He texted back "Good."

I rolled my eyes. Ok. Great convo.

"Hey."

I whipped my head around. UGH! HIM AGAIN?!

Norman stood at the threshold. "I was just wondering if I could hitch a ride with you back home." He stood with his hands in his pockets. He was so slender.

Emma nodded. "Sure," she answered nicely.

"Ok, great." He looked at his watch. "We should probably go ahead and leave. That way, I can help Mother if she needs it."

Emma looked at me before saying, "Ok." We got up off her bed, but I was thinking the whole time how rude it was for him to ask to have a ride then demand we leave now. Ugh. And I bet he will sit right behind me.

And he did. I tried not to look in the mirror; I didn't want to see him. He tried to make small talk with me but I couldn't help but be kind of rude to him. I tried though.
