Debbie sat outside the balcony for quite some time. The skies darkened and chased the sun away, accompanied by the stars. A song played from elsewhere and she just sat listening to the song on loop.
I love you so - The Walters:
Lou stood behind the glass sliding door and stared at Debbie, staring at the sky. She wanted to join her so badly, but she couldn't. The sky eventually cried and its tears fell on Debbie. Lou watched as Debbie's head tilted up, allowing the rain to touch her everywhere. Lou found herself somehow jealous that the rain got to run itself all through Debbie's body. She watched as Debbie's eyes lit up when lightning struck. She was mesmerizing. There's a quote Lou remembers she had wrote in one of the notes she wrote for Debbie:
The world is too big to love only love one person
But out of the billions of people on this Earth,
Nobody will make me feel the way you do.
This world is too big to love only one person,
But I can only bring myself to love you.
Lou could make out that Debbie was singing along to the song. Afterall, she's been outside for hours on the balcony listening to the looped song. She slid open the sliding door and stood behind Debbie, listening to her sing.
Lou never wanted Debbie in a s*xual way. She never did. She wanted to hug Debbie, touch her skin, hug her again, feel her warmth, smell Debbie's scent, feel how soft her hair is, look into her eyes and soak in Debbie's present. She wanted it so bad. But she knew once she'd cross her line, then it'll be impossible to ever touch Debbie again. She listened to Debbie hum the part of the song.
🎶I love you so,
I love you so,
I love you so,
I love you soooooo,
I love you so.
I'm gonna pack my things and leave you behind.
This feelings old and I know that I've made up my mind,
I hope you feel what I felt when you shattered my soul,
'Cause you were cool and I'm a fool, so please let me go🎶
Debbie whispered under her breath, "🎶I love you so🎶" The song echoed, "🎶Please let me go🎶"
Debbie repeated the same part and Lou came in, "Don't let me go." Startled, Debbie jumped from her seat and found Lou staring at her.
"Lou, you id*ot. You scared me."
"Sorry."
"It's fine, you wanna join me in the rain?"
Lou squealed and her lips curved slightly.
"I'll take that smirk as a yes?" Debbie chuckled and Lou nodded back. They both sat on the couch, spaced away from each other. "So, Lou, what did you say?"
"Don't let me go." Debbie blushed heavily and looked away. Lou's hands didn't fail to touch Debbie's. She had an excuse why.
"Your hands are cold, do you wanna hold mine?" Lou nervously asked. Debbie looked over her shoulders and nodded. Her hands and Lou's intertwined and both sat there silently. "You like this song?" Lou questioned.
"Yeah, it's nice."
"Yet heartbreaking." Lou added.
"How so?"
"Well, if you listen to the lyrics carefully, one person loves the other very much, but the other is too blunt and unknown for their feelings that they have multiple lovers. Y'know the part that says, But I can't deal with all your lovers. If that makes sense. It's sort of like, say, person A and person B are friends. Person A wants to end their friendship, but Person B wants to keep it forever. It could go under many situations and scenarios, but the lyrics say it all. It's heartbreaking."
The song from elsewhere began to play another:
( You have to play it- It's a MUST )
Warm - Dre'es ft. Mia:
Debbie listened to Lou's explanation and sobbed, but her tears blended well with the rain. "Can you give more scenarios?"
"Here, come closer." Lou opened her arms for Debbie to move in and Debbie did. She moved in Lou's embrace and layed on her head on her chest, facing the sky as Lou elaborated. Both still held each other's hands tightly but were just closer than before.
"Well, back to another scenario with lovers. Person A and Person B dated, till Person A wanted to break up and decided to leave. But Person B begged Person A to stay. Nope on a rope, Person A left. You know the part, I love you so, then it goes, Please let me go? Yeah, Person B loves Person A very much, but Person A has to leave."
"Why does Person A leave?"
"Y'know that part that goes, I hope you felt what I felt when you shattered my soul? Yeah, we can obviously come to a conclusion Person B broke Person A. Does that make sense? I can't think right now."
"Why can't you think?"
"Well, because I'm with you."
"Oh."
"Are you cold? Do you wanna go inside?"
"Yeah, but I'm fine. I like the rain. Are you cold?"
"No, but you are. Let's go inside."
"No."
"Why?"
"Because..."
"Because?"
'Because you won't hold me like this inside.' Debbie's heart answered.
"Well because, I love the rain."
Lou sighed, released her hands from Debbie's, wrapped both hands around Debbie and pulled her in, "Are you comfortable with me hugging you? If not-"
"No, I'm fine. Really."
"So, how long are we going to sit out here?"
"Mmmm, till the rain stops. Is that fine with you?"
"That's alright with me."
Debbie dug herself a little deeper in Lou's embrace, "Lou?"
"Yes, Debbie."
"Do you wanna be friends?" Debbie asked softly.
Lou hesitated for a moment, till she answered, "What took you so long?"
"Your scenario about Person A and Person B's friendship."
"Oh."
"I like this song too."
"Yeah, me too. It's about Romance."
Rain poured harder on Lou and Debbie. It's like the gods were crying from how dumb they both were.
"Lou?"
"Yes, Debbie."
"Do you wanna go for a drive? Like old times? It's ok if you decline-"
"No."
"Oh, that's fine."
"Not tonight, Debbie. Tomorrow? For now, let's just enjoy the rain."
Debbie nodded against Lou's chest.
"Debbie, we should go inside? Otherwise we'll both get hyperthermia."
"But-"
"Debbie, it's cold and I know my hug isn't doing anything at all."
"Your hugs feel nice, though." Debbie quietly mumbled and Lou heard it. It warmed Lou's heart.
"You wanna go shower first? I can wait." Lou suggested caressing Debbie's hair.
"Ok." Debbie stood up from Lou's embrace and cold air immediately brushed up against her, as well as Lou. Both never wanted to part from the hug, but needed to.

After Debbie showered, she walked out of the shower with her towel only. Both realized that there's nowhere to change.
"Lou, do you mind if you face the other side for a second."
"Mhm." Lou faced the plain wall and patiently waited for Debbie to finish changing. Once Debbie did, Lou made her way to the bathroom and showered. Lou took about an hour and Debbie thought she died.
"Lou! Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just soaking in the bathtub, it's so warm."
"You id*ot, I thought you were dead asleep or something."
"No, just love the warm water."
"Well, hurry up, I need to piss."
"You can come in. The foam overloaded the tub, so there's nothing to see."
"No, just hurry up."
Lou quickly rinsed herself and made her way out of the bathroom only to find Debbie comfortably laying in bed, tucked in under the blanket.
"You don't wanna piss anymore?"
"Lost my bladder."
"Okay, can you face the wall?"
"No."
"What? Debbie, face the wall."
"No, just change. We have the same body and everything, there's nothing to be embarrassed of."
"You want to see me naked, don't you?"
Debbie's cheeks burned in red, "No."
"Yes, you do." Lou teased, "That is why, I'm grabbing my clothes and changing back in the bathroom."
"Ok, go. I don't wanna see you naked, I'm just too lazy to turn around. I'm already tucked in."
"What an excuse." Lou walked back in the bathroom and changed into her pj's. She walked back inside and fell on the couch, "I'm exhausted."
"Are you sleeping on the couch?"
"Yeah."
"Oh."
"Why?"
"Nothing. Isn't it uncomfortable?"
"No."
"Okay."
Both wanted to lay in bed together and cuddle each other, but just couldn't. Some time passed, the lights were out, but they were both still awake, staring at the ceiling, missing each other's touches.
"Lou, are you awake?" Debbie whispered loudly.
"Yeah, why?"
"Can I borrow your blanket. I think I have hyperthermia. I have a big one here, but I'm still cold."
"Actually." Lou stood up from the couch and walked to the edge of the bed. "Can I join you? I won't have any blankets."
"Of course, come in."
"Thanks, here, we can share."
Lou and Debbie knew what the other wanted, a hug, but avoided it. They faced the opposite side of each other and tried to sleep, but couldn't. The place where songs were playing from elsewhere played another, which intensified everything.
( If you don't play this, Ion like you, jokes, BUT YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT. IT'S A MUST )
So Anxious - Ginuwine:
"I can't sleep." Debbie spoke and turned around to face Lou.
"Mmmm, do you wanna cuddle? I wanna cuddle."
"What?"
"Nothing."
It didn't take long before Debbie stood up herself and laid down on top of Lou, "Yeah, I wanna cuddle too."
"Do you think there are cameras?" Lou whispered.
"Yeah, but doesn't matter, were not having s*x, we just need each other's company."
"Do you think-"
"Lou, shut up and enjoy this. I know you wanted it to." Lou's heart tightened and Debbie felt it. It started beating wildly and Debbie's heart skipped a beat. Both hearts were racing for each other and so badly wanting each other. Lou's hands slithered around Debbie's waist and found its resting place. Debbie's hands buried itselves under Lou's waist and she pulled Lou closer into her body. "I like your cuddles." Debbie whispered into Lou's ears in a deep and s*xy voice. Lou gulped and could feel her heart beating faster than ever before.
"Goodnight, Lou." Debbie softly whispered.
"G'night, Debbie." Lou replied back, trying not to stutter.
And within a few minutes, they wandered into their own dreamlands and they cuddled in each other's comfort. Finally, Debbie wasn't cold anymore and Lou had a different blanket.
