Father Ye was left speechless by his wife's words. He sat on the couch, breathing heavily and sulking.
His phone rang, and he answered the call. After silently listening for a while, he finally hung up the phone. Dejected, he slumped forward with his head resting in his hands.
Mother Ye was confused by Father Ye's look. "What's wrong?"
"The capital was inadequate and that project is over. The money I already invested is gone. It won't be long before the bank sends people over to sell our villa."
Mother Ye immediately became alarmed when she heard these words. She sharply asked, "Didn't you say this project was guaranteed to make a profit? If that was true, why was no one willing to invest in that project with you? I told you in advance to not mortgage our home. If our home gets sold, where will we stay? Will we have to sleep on the streets?"
Father Ye was at this wit's end. "I didn't think that Jeon Jungkook would be so heartless. This project has dragged on for half a year, but he never changed his mind on investing in it. We're done for. Not only is the company done for, we’re going to lose our cars and home too.”
The Ye's had always only been putting up the facade of a grandeur, but at the very least, they had a villa and an empty shell of company to support their farce. When they went out, they had luxury cars to prop themselves up. That was enough for Mother Ye to keep up appearance. People that didn't know better tried their best to get close to this wealthy madam.
Now that they were going to lose the company, the cars, and their villa and become destitute overnight, how would she be able to show her face in public in the future in this coastal city?
It was only now that Mother Ye became truly afraid.

"10 million? Invested into your project?"
Father Ye nodded.
