"No, mudiyave mudiyaadhu, naan othukka maaten, enna vilayaadreengala?" screamed Sivaangi at the top of her lungs, but her father continued to read his paper without giving her even one ounce of attention.
"Appa please pa, you promised, you promised I can have the first floor room once it is ready, but ippo you are saying you are renting it, not fair pa" whined Sivaangi kicking her legs.
"Ippo enna de, unakku enna room ah illa?, Mika oda share pannitu dhaana irukka?, Ava room ketaala?, nee mattum yen ippadi jingu jingunu gudhichitu irukka?" , came her mother's voice from the kitchen.
"Aei Maatha ji, konjam summa iru nee, adhu peru sharing ah? She takes 90% of the room for her make up, vanity items. Full wardrobe la I get to have one small partition, rest all is occupied by her clothes" she screamed at her mother
"Nee vetchurka andha naalu track suit, sweat shirt kku andha edam podhum.. he he" giggled Sivaathmika aka Mika while sincerely painting her toe nails.
"Kozhupu di unakku, iru oru naalu un motha things ayum velila pottu bhogi kondaadala en peru Sivaangi illa" shouted Sivaangi at her twin sister.
"Ignore everything, the acoustics in the first floor room is so good, it will be perfect for me to practice and do more cover songs, please pa please please pa" said Sivaangi finally resorting to pleading.
"Yov Mr. Krishnan, enna vilayaadreengala? oruthi inga karadi maari kathitu irukken, konjam kooda madhikaama Rasi balan paathutu irukeengala?" she screamed again, came near her father stomping her feet and removed the paper forcibly from his hands.
"Inga paaru Sivu, I have already told you, this came as a personal request from Ravindran Sir himself, so I couldn't deny at all, un first song kooda avar movie la dhaan varapogudhu and he has agreed to help launch Mika too, we are indebted to him in so many ways that I cannot deny his request at all" replied her father
Sivaangi's father is a veteran character artist in K-town whereas her mother is a quite popular singer. Tripthi arts production house head Mr. Ravindran has been their family friend for years and Sivaangi's father is one constant artist in all his movies making their bonding even more strong.
Despite winning the title in one of the popular reality show Sivaangi failed to launch her career as a singer, when he stepped in and gave her a chance to sing in his movie. He had agreed to launch Mika too as an actress whenever she is ready as Mika informed him that her current focus is only modelling and ramp walks.
He is more like a godfather to her entire family making it very difficult for them to deny his first request.
"Ptchhh.. oru paatu paadita podhuma? release kooda aagala innum, how do I practice pa?" she whined
"My chella twinzy, feel pannadha, I have ordered a new cup board, I will move my not frequently used things from the walk-in closet to that and will keep it in the storage room, you use the walk in closet for singing ok va? I will also give you little more space in the wardrobe to keep two more pair of tracks.. " said Mika hugging her twin sister from behind.
Sivaangi looked at Sivathmika
"Thanks de, ippadi sollittu eppadiyum rendu dress, oru chappal mattum dhaan move pannuvennu enakku theriyummmm" she said dragging the last part getting a death stare from Mika
"But still, unakku edhavadhu seyyanumnu at least thonirkee adhu varaikum thanks" she added kissing her on her cheek
"Appadi yaaru dhaan pa andha single room kku varaanga?" asked Mika
"Some aspiring actor ma, he is Ravindran sir's son's friend it seems, he has acted in quite a few short films and albums, some architectural issue in the house he is currently staying so he had asked if he can get a place to stay for 6 months temporarily, since no one will rent a house for 6 months that too to a bachelor/aspiring actor Ravindran sir asked me and I agreed" explained Sivaangi's father.
"Album ah? endha album? endha short film?" asked Sivaangi little over excited getting a sarcastic look from Mika
"Enakku therila ma" replied her father
"Ayo at least oru nalla paakara maari hero varanum at least sight adikavaadhu useful ah irukkum" replied Sivaangi sighing
"Oru 5 feet 11 inches la, calm ah, warm ah, paathale appadiye oru kulu kulu feel vara maariii " she added stretching her hands looking up dreamily
"Kulu kulu feel pathi therila but my height is 5 feet 11 inches and voice konjam warm ah irukum kelvi patruken.. " came a voice from the entrance of the house shocking everybody
All three of them and her mother who came out from the kitchen hearing his voice looked at the new comer little shocked
"Hi.. " he said but now it is his turn to get surprised
"Wow! " he exclaimed looking at the sisters who turned to look at the entrance
"This is the first time I am seeing perfect identical twins, cinema la paakra dual role maari irukeenga rendu perum" he added
"Hello! who are you, just because the door is open doesn't mean you can walk right in, yaaru neenga?" asked Sivaangi who was the first to come to her senses
"Aye, Ashwin de" murmured Sivaathmika under her breath
"Yendha Ashwin de? " she asked back
Ashwin walked towards Sivaangi slowly
"Hi, name is Ashwinkumar, I have acted in quite a few movies as character artist, few album songs and some moderately hit short films, now trying to prove myself as a male lead. Native is Coimbatore. Indha details podhuma?" he asked her in his base voice looking down deep into her eyes.
"Ayo Ashwin, avalukku yerkanave theriyum, youtube kaari thuppara varaikum she would have watched your latest short film, especially that 'Kai veesi' song is her Suprabatham " said Mika making both Sivaangi and Ashwin blush.
"Hi, I am Mika, short for Sivaathmika, iva Sivaangi, short ah Sivu, vaangi enna venumo koopadlaam" said Mika
"Hi Ashwin, I am Krishnan, welcome, ivangala vitta pesitte irupaanga, neenga ukkarunga, coffee?" asked their father who came in front and welcomed Ashwin formally
"Illa Uncle thanks, I need to freshen up a bit, room enga?" he asked trying to hide a shy smile
"First time veetuku vandhirkeenga,please have this coffee" said Sivaangi's mother.
"Thanks Aunty" he replied and took the coffee and sat on the sofa little uncomfortably.
There was an awkward silence where everyone wanted to talk but no one knew what to start with.
"Sanjeev eppadi theriyum ungalukku" asked Mr. Krishnan trying to initiate a conversation
"We did BE together in Coimbatore, became best buddies in college, he chose to join IT and I moved on to do MBA, we met few years back when I came her to start my career in entertainment industry, neraya help pannirkaan, one true friend he is" replied Ashwin.
"BE, MBA, ippo entertainment industry ah, aya, oru thelive illadha aalu pola?" Sivaangi murmured a snide comment which was clearly audible to Ashwin.
"Madam enna padichirkeenga" asked Ashwin sarcastically
"B com" replied Sivaangi proudly
"Oh nice, enga vela paakareenga? illa further studies ah?" he continued asking with fake sincerity
"Illa singer aaga try pannittu irukken, Star singer season 7 oda title winner naanu, already oru song kooda paadirken in a movie, it is yet to release, edhukku idhellaam kekureenga?" she asked defensively not understanding why he is asking these questions
"What is the relationship between b com and singing? En bachelors in music pannirkalaame" he asked her in a teasing tone provoking her
"Ohhhhhh!" replied Sivaangi
"Ohhhhh!!" joined Ashwin imitating her.
"Inga enna nadakudhu?" asked Sivaathmika while her parents too looked at the two who were conversing as if they were in their own world weirdly making Ashwin blush
"Thanks for the coffee aunty, I will take my leave now" said Ashwin getting up and taking his luggage in one hand.
"Okay Ashwin nice meeting you " said Mika and went into her room without a second look while Sivaangi too got up to leave when her mother called her.
"Sivaangi, go with him and show him the house, here is the key" she said handing over the key to her
"Ma.. adhu enna Thirumalai nayakar mahal ah suththi kaata, oru room, oru slab for kitchen, oru rest room, idhukku edhukku naanu, poma" she whined getting a stare from her mother
"It is ok, give me the key, I can manage" said Ashwin looking a little embarrassed making her feel little guilty.
"Parava illa, naane varen" she said and started walking towards the entrance that lead to the stairs.
Instead of climbing she literally hopped on each steps her pony tail swaying left and right humming the tune of one of the latest hit numbers while Ashwin followed her with a smile.
"Aama ippo enna padathula nadikureenga?" she asked casually while opening the door lock.
"Edhuvum illa ma, oru reality show la participate panna chance kidachirkku, thinking whether to take it up or not" he said
"Ungalukku enna thonudhu?" she asked
"Haven't decided yet, padam pannanumnu dhaan aasai, but have to survive too right? so thinking" he replied while both of them entered the house.
It was a neatly kept quite a big room with a French window on one side leading to the open terrace. Once side of the room had a small counter that could be used for a westernized kitchen, other side had a small and clean attached restroom.
"Gas illa, but you can cook using the induction stove, kutty fridge vetchukalaam inga, there is place for either an oven or toaster too, cook pannuuveengala?" she asked keeping both her hands on her hip and neck titled a bit upwards.
"Yedho, konjam konjam" he replied
"nee?" he asked
"cooking la C kooda poda theriyaadhu" she replied proudly.
"Okay Ashwin, bye.. holler if you need anything" she said and started moving towards the entrance but stopped suddenly turned and asked him
"Aama!!! Neenga single ah commited ah?"
