"I still don't know your name" Jungkook says as both of them sit down on a chair near the bar
"Jisoo. Kim Jisoo"
Jungkook inspects her like an eagle. She looks nervous but she is trying to hide it, she is trying to look confident but she is scared. He is wondering how a girl as naive as her landed in such a compromising situation
"I am Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook"
"Nice to meet you. I can't thank you enough for what you did today" Jisoo replies
"It's quite late. I am not sure if it'll be a good idea for you to look for a hotel alone. I don't trust them enough to leave you alone" he says
Jisoo is at awe at the fact that a complete stranger is helping her so much
"I know it's bothersome but I really have nowhere to go and I don't know anyone here" Jisoo says
"Where is your family? You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I am just curious as to how you landed in Paris" he says
"I don't have anyone except for a friend. No family, nothing. It's just me" Jisoo replies
Jungkook suddenly regrets questioning her like that
"I am so sorry"
"It's fine. I am doing great. I don't need anyone anyways"
"Ummm, this might sound wrong but I may have a place for you. Hotels aren't trustworthy specially the cheap ones. And seeing that you're a foreigner here, they might charge you extra in every chance they get. I have an apartment 10 minutes from here. You can stay there till you get a job" he says
Jisoo suddenly becomes extremely suspicious.
"Oh so this is what it was all about? To land me in your apartment? And to think, I started admiring you for being so kind. Who am I kidding? But guess what? I am not that kind of girl who spends the night with random strangers to get a place to stay" Jisoo says all in one breath
Jungkook gets amazed at her words. This girl seemed like naive but she can be feisty too. He smirks hearing her
"I didn't mean it like that. You can stay in the guest room. You won't see me much. I am rarely home. So till you get a job, I thought it'll be a good idea but obviously if you don't feel comfortable, I don't force you" Jungkook says
"How much do I have to pay?" Jisoo asks
"I don't want anything from you" Jungkook says
Jisoo becomes more suspicious at this and Jungkook immediately catches onto it
"Umm, you can cook for me. I mostly order from outside so if you can cook then I'll consider it a good deal" he replies trying to convince Jisoo
"Where is your family?" Jisoo interrogates
"They are here, in Paris. They have other own house. I visit them a lot so that's another reason for you to be assured that you won't see me much in my apartment" he says
Jisoo starts thinking "Even a normal hotel is a gonna cost a lot. But if I stays in his apartment, she'll get free food and a place to live. It is too good to be true but if things go south, I have my pepper spray and knife with me."
"Okay, I'll cook for you when you want me to. But I have a condition. I'll pay the rent when I make some money. I don't want free favours from strangers" Jisoo says
Jungkook smiles "Whatever you want" he says
"Can we go now? I am kind of tired" Jisoo says
"Sure" Jungkook smiles and leads her to his car
They both arrive at his apartment and Jisoo's eyes are wide open. As soon as you open the door, there is a living room with a big chandelier and a life size TV. Below the TV there is a fireplace and in front of it, there is a huge couch. On the left there is an open kitchen with all kitchen utensils and a mini bar. Then there are stairs that lead to upstairs. There are about 3 rooms upstairs. One master bedroom, one guest room and one gym
You call this apartment? This can easily pass as a mansion. I didn't realize you were this rich. What do you do by the way?" Jisoo asks him as they walk inside the living room
"Ahaha it's not much but it's home. I work at my father's office right now. It has to do with real estates and a few other bits and pieces" he replies and puts down Jisoo's luggage.
"Let me take you to your room" he says and starts walking upstairs
"here" he says and opens the door of the guest room
"My room is just next to it so if you need anything, do tell me" he says
"wait, aren't you hungry? Have you eaten anything?" he asks
Jisoo gets embarrassed, she has already made him suffer a lot, he couldn't even enjoy being in the club because of her and now she doesn't want to bother him with food
"It's fine, I am not hungry" she says but Jungkook reads her mind
"I'll order food for me anyways so I can order something for you too" he says
"Huh, why will you order? I am supposed to cook remember? Let me get changed and I'll cook something for both of us" Jisoo says trying to take some responsibility to lessen the guilt
"But you're tired" Jungkook says
"Nah, I am fine. I'll come downstairs soon"
"sure" Jungkook says and walks out of the room and goes downstairs
He sits on the sofa for some time waiting for Jisoo. He's craving for some Kimchi Fried Rice. It's been a while since he had this. Even her mother doesn't make it these days, all he gets is Italian food and he's tired of it
Jisoo soon comes down wearing pajamas with cartoons drawn in them and her hair tied in a ponytail with a scrunchie
Jungkook looks up and he stifles a giggle. He hasn't seen any girl dress up like that in a while. It's always the fancy satin nightsuits or night shrugs.
Jisoo looks at him sitting on the couch with his phone in his hand and she smiles too. This guy has been nothing but kind to her
"So what do you want to eat?" she says and opens the fridge
"Do you know how to make kimchi fried rice?" Jungkook says and walks towards the kitchen too
"You bet. Let me make Gimbap and Kimchi fried rice. What say?" she asks
"Sounds good" Jungkook says and sits on a chair near the kitchen counter while Jisoo prepares all the ingredients
He watches her cook and somehow he feels better. He had to attend a lot of meetings and field trips today but sitting here watching someone cook for him makes him excited for the food
He has always asked Lisa to cook for him but there were many excuses
"I don't know how to cook babe"
"I just got my nails done. I can't honey"
"We can order boo. Who cooks these days"
All these thoughts spiral in his head and he shakes them off
Jisoo makes a sauce for the friend rice and she dips her pinky finger lightly to taste it.
"Ahhh why do I cook so well" she says out loud praising herself.
Jungkook laughs at this "I'll be the judge of that" he says
She gets embarrassed at this. "I hope everything satisfies his tastebuds. Otherwise he might even kick me out" she thinks as she sets the table up
"Foods ready" she says and looks at Jungkook
"So, where do you plan on getting a job?" he says and sits down in front of the food. The aroma that is coming out of them is enough to make him devour the entire plate
Jisoo sits down too
"I am not sure either. But I have to figure it out soon. I cannot stay here for a long time" she says
"You came from Korea, right?" Jungkook asks as he takes a bite of the gimbap. This is the most delicious gimbap he has had in a while. The real taste of Korean Gimbap. Hard to find in Paris these days. Even his cook can't make korean foods well
"Yeah" Jisoo replies
"What did you use to do there? Study or did you already started working?" Jungkook asks as he munches on his food
"Actually, I have had 3 years of experience as an waitress in a 5 star restaurant. A lot of people from the high society used to go there. It was a really good job but something happened and I had to come here" she says
"Wow so you do have the experience as an waitress. Maybe I can help you in getting a job?" Jungkook says
"Huh? Is it possible? I'll be really grateful. I swear, I'll work hard. I never slack off so whoever hires me will not regret the decision" Jisoo says
Jungkook smiles at her words
"Well then I must make sure that you get the job" he says
Jisoo's eyes light up "thank you so much. I'll pay you as soon as I get my salary" she says as she finally finds a ray of hope
Jungkook finishes the entire plate in a matte of minutes. So does Jisoo. Both of them were very hungry
"I'll ask my driver to drop you off at your workplace tomorrow. They'll brief you on what to do. Just tell them my name" Jungkook says
"That means I already have a job?" Jisoo almost screams
"Maybe" Jungkook says as he finds her reaction cute
"You can go to bed. You've done so much for me. I'll do the dishes" Jisoo says
Jungkook gets up "Night" he says and as he is about to leave, he looks back at her. She is diligently cleaning the table
Even Jungkook doesn't know why he is doing so much for a complete stranger. But the minute he laid his eyes on her, he couldn't stop the urge to protect her. Her black hair, brown eyes, confused smile and heart shaped lips, her dedication to find a job and pay him so that she isn't indebted to him... He has come across a lot of girls but she is unique. Some girls throw themselves at him cause they know the life he can give them. Some of them even offer to be his mistress behind Lisa's back. But of course he has never done anything behind Lisa's back. He would never. Her loves her.
But looking at Jisoo, he feels like this is the first time she has come across someone like her. She is trusting him enough but at the same time there are doubts in her eyes regarding him. He also saw the kitchen knife Jisoo had right beside her table the entire dinner.
"This girl sure has some self respect in her. She isn't a spoiled princess who doesn't know how the world works" he says the last sentence without his conscience. Right then his phone lights up. Lisa texted him
"Boo which colour suits me better? I want to look good for you but I am unsure about which dress to buy"
"The right one" Jungkook replies and puts his phone in silent mode
"Both of them are pink. I didn't see any difference" he thinks and walks towards his room
