Part 31 (@Vickystories21) (btw it's August since she went to jail at the end of October, yes they are still at Eden due to the fact they still have hockey during this month because of Orion )
after we all had a blast messing around we went into the locker room to change, well I only had to remove my sneakers since I didn't put on my full gear. I was chatting with the rest of the ducks while Julie kept rolling her eyes but I chose to ignore it not wanting today to be full of drama.
C- so Dakota how was it being locked up?
Co- yeah did you hate it?
De- did you make juvie your bitch? (okay Carl Gallagher)
I chuckled and shook my head
D- no I got my ass kicked the first day by 3 girls then fought one of them again the same day, I was just kept fighting them until they finally switched us to different pods. other than that the food sucked and we barely got any blankets
Dw- that sounds horrible
F- duh really
we all laughed and continued to talk until Adam was ready so I said bye to the ducks before walking out of the arena with Banks. he held onto my hand making me smile
A- wanna go do something? or do you just wanna go back to the dorms
I thought for a moment before breaking out into a smile
D- let's get ice cream!!
he chuckled and agreed before we started walking to the ice cream parlor, he lead the way since I forgot where everything was. we got there and I kept jumping up and down like a child while he ordered our ice creams, he got moose tracks and I got a basic twist because why not. we started to eat it while we walked over to a table to sit, we sat down and just started to talk while we ate.
A- it's great having you back, it was pretty boring when you were gone
I looked at him still eating as he continued
A- I was pretty lonely without you, it felt I don't know like something was missing in a way
I smiled as I felt my cheeks grow warm
D- aw don't go soft on me Banks!
he rolled his eyes playfully as he started to eat his ice cream again until I got an idea
D- hey Banksie?
he looked at me and I saw he had a little ice cream on his lower lip making me smile
D- you got something on your lip
he looked at me confused as I got closer so we were inches apart (cringe)
D- let me get it
he didn't say anything as I got even closer and connected our lips, he placed his free hand that wasn't holding the ice cream on the side of my face as he kissed back. we kissed for a while before he pulled back looking at me, both our faces redder than tomatoes as we were still smiling at each other
A- what was that for?
D- I told you... you had something on your lip
he chuckled as so did I before we pulled away completely as I saw my ice cream was melting making us both laugh again before he ran to grab some napkins. he came back and started cleaning off my hands that had ice cream on them along with my pants
A- can't take you anywhere without you spilling something on yourself
D- this wasn't my fault
he looked at me as I looked down at him since he was kneeling
A- I'm gonna try this again and I hope I get the answer I think I will receive
I waited for him to speak knowing what he was gonna ask
D- you ask a lot of questions Banks
he rolled his eyes again making me chuckle
A- D will you go out with me?
I smiled widely as he waited for my answer
D- yes Banks I will finally be your girlfriend
he smiled and kissed me again making me smile more if that's even possible. once we finally broke apart we started to head back to the dorms (they already finished their ice cream) we walked in a Buckley was walking down the hall, he spotted me and smiled before walking over
B- I was looking for you! we are about to have a council meeting concerning your scholarship for this coming up year. mind coming with me?
I looked at him than at Adam
A- we will be right there sir!
he nodded with a smile before walking off making me sigh as Adam took off his hoodie
D- what are you doing?
A- put this on, please
I looked at him confused
D- why? I'm not cold
A- because your t-shirt is stained and we are about to go in front of the board of education
D- but I like my stained shirt
A- D can you please just listen to me this once?
I sighed and took the hoodie putting it on over my shirt, it was a little big but not too big and honestly smelled good. We walked to the meeting room and I saw all the board members sitting at the table while Buckley was standing by the podium thingy with Bombay next to him, I also noticed Rick and Dean standing on either side of the podium as the ducks were off to the side before Mr. Riley spoke up first
Ri- now that Ms. Portman is here, let's start.
I rolled my eyes walking in a bit more with Adam, listening as they all spoke
B- Ms. Portman, we are here to discuss your scholarship here at Eden hall
D- discuss it? for what? there's nothing to talk about.
Rick being the big mouth he is just had to chime in
R- you might lose your scholarship here Dakota, you know for your violent actions
I bite my tongue to stop myself from mocking him as Bombay chimed in
Bo- if I may interject Mr. Buckley, my client here knows what she did was wrong. she admitted to that and did her time for the mistake she made. She has shown herself to be a true warrior when she lead the warriors to victory many times.
Ri- well has she shown her improvement with her anger issues? Because we can't have fighting like that in our school
Rick chimed in before anyone else could
R- yeah those aren't going anywhere, she and her anger issues come as a package.
B- well my client here is going to a therapist for her problems
I looked right at him with a dirty look
D- I AM?!
he looked at me with a straight face
B- yes, you are
before anyone else could speak Charlie chimed in
C- in my defense I made her mad!
than dean spoke
De- I made her madder
Dw- No y'all I did with my big dumbo ears!
K- no I did
they all kept doing that until all the ducks accept Adam and Julie. Bombay was trying to shut them up with hand signals but no one was listening or paying attention until Rick spoke up
R- SHUT IT!
they all went quiet and looked at Rick with death glares
De- can I say my statement and get the hell out of here? I got better things to do
Buckley coughed slightly before nodding moving over so Dean could stand there and state his "case"
De- her anger wasn't like this until our father came back, she and our father have never had a good relationship growing up. it got worse when our brother died just two years ago, it didn't help that he was always away so she never got to see him. but now that he isn't in the picture as much and she is away. Now she has...
he looked hesitant before he spoke
De- Adam as her boyfriend, I'm sure he will help her control her anger and she is usually calmer when he's with her.
Buckley looked at me
B- is that true Ms. Portman?
D- yes of course it is
Rick chimed in again
R- but she is a deliquent! we don't allow felons like her in our school, won't that bring down our reputation?
Mr. Riley looked at Buckley as I clenched my fist-fighting the urge to punch Rick before looking at me
Ri- you look pretty upset over there Dakota
I looked at Mr. Riley letting out a shaky breath
D- well I'm not too thrilled that I'm being called a delinquent when I'm not one. yes, I made mistakes but like Bombay said I did my time and paid the price. I'm not like that anymore
Buckley looked over at me before smiling slightly
B- I like to hear that Ms. Portman, how about we make a deal?
I looked at him waiting for him to continue
B- if you agree to go to therapy to help with your anger, we will allow you to attend school here at Eden Hall this fall with a full scholarship.
I rolled my eyes at the mention of therapy but Adam nudged my side making me look at him as he looked at me. I didn't have to speak to him to know what he was trying to tell me, I sighed and looked back at Buckley
D- fine I will agree to go to therapy BUT only if I get put back on the JV team instead of Varsity.
he smiled more and nodded
B_ than we have a deal, we are looking forward to seeing you in school this fall Ms. Portman
the ducks cheered so loudly as Adam hugged me, he let go as Bombay hugged me telling me good job. I saw Dean staring at me with a look that I knew all too well, not wanting to deal with any drama I walked over to the ducks and they gave me a huge group hug. looks like I won the case, after all, suck on that Rick.
