Ishikawa [Name]'s POV

Rushing around places to places Kusuo told me to search, I could not find my child anywhere.

"Excuse me! Have you seen this child around two hours ago?" I asked every shop clerk or people on the street, showing a picture of my son.

All of them shook their head, or even apologized.

'It may be his new ability acting up. Oh just why didn't I take notice of the different kind of psychic power he is developing?'

It has already been almost two hours of me running around the town. Kusuo has yet to contact me. Maybe he could not find Kuuya too?

I could have told him about Kuuya ability, as it might be a crucial information to help with the search. But I do not want to risk it.

Other than me, nobody knows my little boy is a psychic. Telling it to others may risk his life, or even affect him.

Even though Kusuo is Kuuya's father, it is still a no.

As much as I trust Aren too... Sorry! It's a secret between my son and I!

Feeling exhausted about the search, I walked towards a nearby bench and sat down.

Taking out my phone from my bag, I decided to give Kusuo a call.

'Alright [Name], calm down. Your son is intelligent, he has abilities that can aid him to protect himself from danger.'

I waited as patiently as I can for Kusuo to pick up. Every passing second felt so long.

'Why hasn't he pick up why hasn't he pick up why hasn't he pick up-'

"Hello?"

"KUSUO!" I yelled into the phone. Passers-by may have glance at me weirdly due to my sudden outburst but I didn't care. They can look at me all weirdly if they want to. "Did you find Kuuya?! Or any information of where he had been to?!"

"Don't worry mommy! I'm fine!" A sweet sounding voice spoke on the phone.

My heart stopped once I heard that voice.

It is definitely my little boy.

"Kuuya?"

"Yes mommy!"

"Where have you run off too?"

Tears pricking in my eyes, I felt a huge sense of relief.

My little boy is back.

"I-"

"Kuuya and I are at the park. Meet us there [name]." Kusuo cut my son off and hung up the phone.

I stared at my phone in disbelief.

'Did he just stopped me from talking to my son?!'

Tossing my phone into my bag I started to run towards the park.

"Mommy!"

I saw my little boy running towards me and I squat down opening my arms.

He jumped into my arms and we gave each other a big hug.

I couldn't hold back my tears.

I released him from the hug and checked if he was alright from disappearing from school.

"Are you hurt? Did anything happened?"

"No mommy! I'm good!"

"Kuuya where exactly have you run off too?! Do you know how dangerous it is to run off without saying anything?!" I scolded my son.

I know it's a little harsh raising my voice towards him. But as his mother, I couldn't help but feel worried about his well-being.

I could tell he was a little surprise that I scolded him and hung his head, looking on the ground with guilt.

"I'm sorry mommy... It will not happen again... Please don't cry..."

I ruffled his head gently and bring him into a hug again.

"Mommy is just worried about you. Don't do that again... Okay?"

I stood up and faced Kusuo, wiping my tears away in the process.

"Thank you."

The words I never thought I will say to him ever again.

He nodded and glance at Kuuya with loving eyes. "He is my son after all..."

This time, I couldn't help but feel glad that he did his part as Kuuya's father.

My little boy ran and hug his father's leg. "Mommy! Can we hang out with daddy again?" He asked, looking at me with those puppy dog eyes.

How irresistible!

Glancing at Kusuo, I could feel that he wanted to be together with Kuuya too.

But... I am just not ready to face him yet.

It's bad enough I have to see him at work, but also outside?

For my son's sake, I think I can try.

"W-we... can hang out together when we have free time." I reluctantly answered.

The little pink haired boy jumped up and tugged his father's shirt in delight.

"Anyway," I said, catching their attention. "Where exactly did you found Kuuya?" I asked Kusuo.

The two pink haired male look at each other in silence, as if they were speaking to one another without talking.

'What exactly are they doing?'

"He was near the station, trying to get a train ticket."

"Back to our old home?"

The two of them nodded.

I sighed, and squat down to Kuuya's height.

"You know," I began. "If you really missed our place we can always go there during the holidays."

"Really?"

"Yup! We can go look for Auntie Kaori, visit your favourite book store and eat tons of ramen!"

"Yay!!" He cheered once more. "Can daddy come too?"

"Uh... I guess?"

The boy was overjoyed, climbing on his fathers' back, and started babbling about the fun things we all can do together.

"Come on, let's go back to the Kindergarten. Your teacher is worried sick."

"Thank you for looking for Kuuya!" The teacher bowed, showing gratitude. "I am sorry for causing such inconvenience!"

"I also have to apologize for my son's behavior. He should not have run off without telling you." I told the lady.

"I am sorry teacher! I promise I will not cause any trouble for you ever again!" Kuuya bowed his head towards his teacher in guilt. His teacher than chuckled and accepted his apology.

"Since class have already ended, Kuuya can you please get your bag while I talk to your parents?" My son nodded and run into the classroom.

The teacher slipped her hand into the pocket of apron and pulled out two flyer, passing Kusuo and I one each.

"The school will be organizing a sports day during in two months time. Will the two of you be able to join us that day to support Kuuya? She asked as the both of us scanned through the flyer.

"I will be there!" I told the teacher and she smiled, turning her gaze to Kusuo, waiting for his answer.

The pink haired male beside me nodded. "Me too."

The teacher clapped her hands in glee and knowing that both of us will be present. "I am so happy to hear that!" She exclaimed. "The kids normally feel much more confident and enthusiastic when they know that their parents are there to support them!"

"Mommy, daddy! I got my bag!" Kuuya carrying his bag, running towards us. "Teacher why are you clapping?" He asked the elated older woman.

"I am just talking to your parents about the sports day." She said cheerfully. "Make sure to be prepared for that day okay?"

"Yes!"

"The school will inform once again when the date is near." She told us before sending us off.

Waving at the teacher, we started walking away from the school.

Halfway while walking, Kusuo seems to sigh and carried Kuuya on his shoulders. The little boy seems to be enjoying himself, while the older male looks like he gave up fighting.

'What happened between these two?' I pondered. 'Did they established a secret code without me?'

Kuuya must have sense some awkwardness in the silence and started to strike up a conversation every now and then between us.

"Daddy do you know mommy can cook? She makes really good bento!"

"Yah... I ate it before."

That's right. I made lunch for him a few time back in high school. I tried to decorated it as pretty as I could to show my love for him. Of course, coffee jelly as dessert.

I'm surprised he still remembers.

Ah... the past... the memories all wonderful. Stress-free, happiness, together with my classmates.

It's shocking how time flies. And I am now with child.

Reaching the cross-road, we stood there for a couple of seconds.

"Kuuya, get off Kusuo's shoulder." I told the boy. "We are going in different direction."

"But mommy... can't daddy send us home?" my little boy asked. "I want to play with him!"

Kusuo, still having his usual expressionless look on his face, looked straight at me.

"I'll send you guys home." He spoke.

Well, the both them sure do want their father and son bonding time.

Which they deserved it since they have been a long time apart.

I am not here to take away my son's happiness from being with his father. Even though I still had that fear in me, that should not get in their way of spending some time together.

"Sure."

Continuing our journey to the apartment, Kuuya nuzzled his head on Kusuo's hair.

"Daddy's hair is really fluffy!" He remarked.

I chuckled at that sight. He sure reminds me of me.

I love Kusuo's fluffy hair. I used to pat his head every chance I get.

This kid sure got my DNA.

Thank goodness Kuuya inherited his father's hair. Now I get to ruffle his hair everyday!

The boy shared about all the things he did in school and Kusuo listened really attentively. From nodding his head to agreeing with what he said, Kusuo must be enjoying listening to his son's day.

Unfortunately, Kuuya had to stop as we have reached the apartment.

The pink haired boy reluctantly got down from his father's shoulders and went over to my side.

"Will you come and visit us?" He asked Kusuo with hope.

Kusuo squat down in front of Kuuya and whispered something into his ear, causing the him to chuckle with glee.

'They really do share a secret...'

"I will be waiting daddy!"

Kusuo ruffled Kuuya's hair as he stood up and walked towards me.

I tilt my head in curiousity.

"Do you need anyt-"

I stood there, frozen. He cut me off with a sudden tight embrace. It was warm. Really warm. The same warmth I remembered from a few years ago that I loved and craved for every single day.

I slowly placed my hands behind his back, and a smile cracked on my face.

"Thank you." He said into my ear. "Thank you for letting me be part of his life."

"It's for him. He always wanted to spend time with his father. It's good for the two of you to bond." I told him as we released each other.

The warmth disappeared and was replaced with the cold wind.

If I could, I would have hugged him once again but my pride just wouldn't allow me too.

"Sports day." I continued. "Don't forget to be there on that day."

I turned my back and began walking towards the elevator.

Kusuo waved goodbye to the little boy and was about to walk away when I stopped my tracks, turning around once again.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow, Kusuo."

Holding Kuuya by his hand, the both of us took the elevator to our floor.

Third Person's POV

Kusuo turned around upon hearing those words, only to find that the two people have already walked away to the elevator.

His heart thumped with what [name] said before she walked away.

He does not know why that sentence she said made him feel... hopeful.

Hopeful that she will give him a chance, hopeful that they will be back together again.

In order to strive for those, he knew in his heart, he must take action.

Looking up at the sunset, Kusuo started heading home with a peaceful smile on his face.
