Two days have passed since Kendall started avoiding Ashley. It’s not that she don’t like Ashley liking her but because Ashley’s Lyn’s dream girl.
"You're spending your time in here" someone said while she’s practicing in the music room
She looked to the entrance where the voice came. "Hey." It's Ashley “I’m just finishing my song"
"Alright" she said and walks towards her
"How are you?" she asked "It's been two days since we last talk"
Ashley looked at her "It's been two days since you started avoiding me"
“I am not avoiding you” she lied
“You are. Why Kendall?”
She looked at Ashley seriously“You’re falling for me”
“Am I not allowed to fall for you?”
“You can’t”
“Why?”
“I don’t want to compromise our friendship. I don’t want you to fall for me, end”
Ashley paused “Okay”
She was relieved. “So, do you want to hear my song?”
“No”
“Ashley”
“In order for me not to fall for you, I should keep my distance away from you. I’m sorry Kendall, we can’t be friends anymore” Ashley said and walks away
Another day has past and it was Ashley’s turn in avoiding her
“Why am I feeling guilty?” she said to herself “And why am I either bothered?” then she found Ashley, Tasha and Riley walking to the hallway. “Damn” she said and walks away.
Why did she fall for me? I am not Lyn, I am not lesbian, for God sake, I am straight. Is this because she thought I’m lesbian? But why did she fall for me if she could have fallen for Lyn the first time. Is it because I talked a lot to her 10 days ago and she fallen in love with me with only with that short time and why am I thinking of this? Oh God she paused Am I falling for her too? No… no… it just an instinct… for revenge, to make Lyn’s dream girl fall for me “THAT’s IT!” she yelled
Everyone in the hall looked at her
“Sorry” she smiles and walks out
Ashley by then is watching her, she silently laugh as Kendall yelled
After school, as Kendall is walking home, she found someone in the front door.
“Caroline” she called
Caroline looked at her. "Hey"
"What are you doing here?"
"Came here to visit, it’s been two weeks since your sister run away. Is she alright?"
"Yes. She is. Would you like to come in?"
She looked at her "You're not going to do anything on me?"
"Oh come on. We're just going to talk"
"Talk about what?"
"My sister"
"It's fine. I'm going anyway. If she calls you, will you tell her to call me? I'm her best friend and I'm really worried about her."
"Alright"
"And please don't use your sister's bracelet. It doesn't mean if she's gone it’s yours"
"Oh sorry" she said as she took out her bracelet
"And also her cologne." she looked at her "You're not Kendall Ann aren't you?"
"Oh come on. I'm not that idiot sister of mine" she said talking like Lyn.
"She would never be like you." Caroline sighs "I'm going"
"Okay." she said as Caroline walks out "Caroline!" she called
"Yes?" Caroline turned back
"Thank you for worrying about my sister" she said
"You’re welcome”
(Dinner)
“Are you alright? You don’t seem well today” her dad asked her
“I’m fine, kind of worried about the competition”
“You can nail that one, I’m sure of it”
“Thank you”
“Do you already have something to wear?”
“None yet, I still have a 2 weeks and 4 days to decide what to wear”
“I always wanted to see you in a dress” dad said and laughs
She would love that but she’s Lyn right now “Come on dad, I hate dress”
“I know so I bought you a lady suit, it’s upstairs in my room”
“Really? Dad! You’re the best!”
“So make me proud okay”
“I will!”
She already have something to wear for the competition, the only problem is her own composition.
(The next day – Music Room)
“Damn! Not good!” she said as she crumpled a piece of paper. “What’s the matter with me?” she asked herself as she lied down to the floor. Why did I always think of her? She thought, Damn revenge instincts!
A few minutes, she heard someone opened the door “Just ignore me” she said not looking at the door
“Are you alright?”
She knew that voice “Ashley” she said as she sits
“I forgot my note”
“Okay”
“How’s your composition?” Ashley asked as she took her notes
“Disaster” she answered “I still need an inspiration”
“Hmm… I should go now”
“Wait!” she said as she blocked the door. There was a long silence while they look at each other.
“Tasha and Riley are waiting for me” Ashley break
“Okay” she said as she step away
“Thank you” Ashley opened the door, ready to leave,
Then she grabbed Ashley hands “Please stop ignoring me.”
“Kendall, I told you the reason why I’m doing this. I don’t want to stay to your friend zone. I am in love with you”
“I know that but I don't want to hurt you" or either hurt Lyn "You know my reputation" Lyn's reputation of being a womanizer "and I can't admit it to myself" because I'm damn straight “but all I can think is about you. You’re my inspiration. I like you, I… love you” BOOM! I am straight but I fall for her. There goes my confusion, admitting to myself that I’m also ‘in’ with woman.
“That took so long” Ashley said
Kendall smiled “Yah, sorry for admitting it…” she stops talking as Ashley kissed her
It’s the first kiss from a woman she likes “That was sweet” she said and smiles
A few days later,
"Your dad is out?" Ashley asked as they walk home together
"He'll be home around 8" Kendall answered
"Are you planning of something?"
"Why would you think of that?"
"Just some thoughts" Ashley smiled "Some naughty thoughts"
"Did you sleep with your past boyfriend?"
Ashley looked at her "What if I did? You'll hate me?"
"No. It's fine. I also did sleep with few women" of course she’s lying. She never slept with anybody.
"I never did" Ashley sounds a bit sad.
"I'm sorry."
"It's alright"
There was awkwardness between them now.
As they reached her house, Kendall saw Caroline again.
"Hey" Caroline greeted
"Hey" she greeted back. "You're here again?"
"Who's she?" Ashley asked
"This is Caroline, my twin sister's best friend"
"Hi" Carolyn said and smiles "You're her girlfriend?"
"Yes. I'm Ashley"
"Nice to meet you" Caroline said "You should be careful with her. She's a playgirl" Caroline whispers
"I heard what you said" Kendall said "Don't listen to her. I only love you"
"I know that" Ashley said
"So, you're already tamed. Thank God your sister will not worry about you anymore." Caroline said and smiled
"What are you doing here anyway?"
"Yes. Like to know if there is news about your sister"
"There's nothing"
"I see. Did she call you?"
"No and I'm kind of worried about her. Don't worry, if she calls, I'll tell you."
"I'll be visiting again. Bye" Caroline said and leaves.
"She's one good friend" Ashley said
"Yeah, she is"
"I think she's in love with your sister"
"What? There's no way she could be. Caroline is straight and Ann is straight" Although she’s not anymore
"I'm straight then I met you"
"Yeah. That makes sense. Come in" she said as she pulled her inside "My room's upstairs."
"So you're thinking of something"
"Of course not! I'm just gonna show you my room"
"Yeah."
"Come on!"
"Hey. You two really do look alike" Ashley said as she saw their photo
"We're identical"
"And you're wearing skirt here"
"No. It's not me. It's my sister."
"No. It's you. You’re different from your sister"
"How can you tell?"
"Your eyes and your smile"
"But they say we have the same eyes and smile"
"Yours are telling the truth. They're real. Unlike your sister, unlike the first Kendall"
"Stop that. Are you telling me I'm the straight sister of mine?"
"No. I'm telling you, you've changed."
I smiled and kissed her. She was about to undress her when she heard her dad's voice.
"Lyn, are you already home?" her Dad called
"Shit. He was early today"
Ashley smiled and buttoned her dress "Another time"
"I'm here dad" she answered "Why are you early?" she asked as they went down
"There was a crushed down of data's in the office and the management called it off for today" he turned to them "Or, I should've stayed late?"
"No. No. It's fine. Dad, this is Ashley Montoya"
"Good afternoon sir" Ashley greeted
"Hi. Hi, it's nice to meet you" he looked at Kendall. "She's beautiful. You’ve chosen well"
Ashley chuckles. "I should go already"
"No. No. No. Stay. You should join us for dinner. Lyn here is a good cook."
"Sure" Ashley answered
"I've told you, Lyn's a good cook" her Dad said as they eat dinner
"She really is" Ashley said
"Ann was also a good cook. Her twin sister" her dad said "She left to chase for her dreams"
"Dad"
"I know. I'm sorry. I'm being emotional again"
"Ann's his favorite" Kendall said
"No, you're both my favorites. I love both of you. I'm just worried about your sister"
"I'm also beginning to worry about her but she'll definitely call. I know her. She's just busy, I guess"
After dinner, Ashley bid farewell.
"You should accompany her home" her Dad ordered
"It's fine sir, It's just few blocks away." Ashley said
"No. It's dark already." Her Dad insisted "Lyn, go take her home"
"Let's go" Kendall said and hold Ashley's hand.
"Your dad's nice" Ashley said
"He was."
"How many women did you slept with?"
"2 or more"
"You're lying"
I didn't know, I'm not Lyn "About 10" she guessed
"10. If I sleep with you, I'll be the eleventh?"
"You'll be my first"
Ashley smiles "It sounds like you're telling the truth."
"What if I am?"
"Everyone knows you. You're one playgirl."
"And this playgirl was tamed by you"
"That's why I believed in you. I'll always be your first"
She smiled "This' your stop, Goodnight"
"Goodnight" Ashley said and kissed her. "I love you"
"I love you too. Bye"
“Morning” Ashley greeted the next morning
“Morning” she greeted back as she kissed her
“I can’t believe you two are already a couple” Tasha said
“I can’t believe it either” Kendall said
“Just promise us you’ll never hurt her or you’re dead meat” Riley said
“I promise” Kendall said and smiles
“So how’s your composition going?”
“Terrific” she looked at Ashley “I know I could win. I have an inspiration”
“Now I know why she fall for you” Tasha said as Kendall's phone rings
“Excuse me” she said as she looked at her phone. It was an unregistered number “I’ll just take this call.” she added
Ashley and the others went in the room
“Hello?” she answers
“So how’s my little sister”
“Lyn! Where the hell are you? Why didn’t you call me back again?”
“I’m still here, really busy with work so don’t have time to call back. How’s life?”
“Fine. Just fine”
“You sound like you’re in good mood. Should I be worried?”
“No”
“How’s dad?”
“He’s fine. He always asked about you”
“Don’t worry. I’ll be home in two weeks”
“Yah” she felt sadness then she looked at Ashley “Two more weeks and you’re back” realizing that she won’t be with Ashley forever
