there's an emptiness inside me growling like an empty stomach;
craving something so deliciously sinful,
something of the hubristic nature that angers Gods and men alike.
for how dare I seek after fulfillment under these hawk-eyed skies who so sternly counteract every clump of rapture with humbling torment?
(lest we forget we are here to suffer!)
bestowing it upon our souls like a thorned wreath -a macabre paragon!
like a shadow cast by happiness, eager to consume the lingering crumbs of joy when the light of delirium finally dies out;
so do I dare lust for a taste of unadulterated bliss whose light casts no shadow
or contentment it is?
