{"Are you mine?" Harry's eyes narrowed to Taylor's waiting for an answer. Taylor played with her thoughts for a way to get out of this situation.

Taylor didn't squirm out of his grip like usual. She found herself gazing into his eyes.

"Not tonight." She pressed her lips to his softly then pulled away leaving a trace of her warmth on his lips. Taylor squirmed out of her way and regretfully walked back to her room and locked the door behind her.

Every night was getting harder and harder. She knew that soon enough one of them would be dead or naked by the end of the night. That was a story she couldn't help but wonder how he would react.}

Cabin House Cafe, London England

A faint hint of a something new was in the air the morning at the café. Today was the day Jake was flying in. Taylor had gotten up easier than most mornings and dressed herself nicer than usual.

The morning hours slipped by with not as much business as usual. Taylor couldn't say she wasn't happy with the lack of people filing their way into the café. She barely got more than three hours of sleep, all she could manage to see was Harry. She hoped that seeing Jake would change her mind on it.

A large figure stepped through the doorway around noon. Her dark depleted eyes stood out in the hazy setting of the café.

"Maze?" Taylor whispered in disbelief. Maze hobbled over to the counter almost as if she was trying to hide a limp.

"I thought you weren't coming in today?" Taylor questioned. Maze seemed to not even hear Taylor. She was simply in a daze staring off into space.

"My son did not come to visit me today, so now I'm here." Maze spoke quietly. Taylor nodded as maze grabbed ahold of her arm. She sat with Maze down at one of the booths by the window.

The outside was almost as depressing as the inside. Slowly rained droplets moved outside the window as if they were racing one another. Maze's cold hands were shaking. Taylor grabbed ahold of her hands and she seemed to calm down a bit.

"I'll get you some water." Taylor smiled kindly getting up to fulfill her promise. As she dropped in three large ice cubes, the bell that hung above the door rang twice. That meant someone had walked into the little cafe.

Taylor still shuffled around for a moment as she yelled to the register.

"I'll be with you in a moment. The menu is on the left and the special today is-" She stood up only to be amazed at the ever so familiar blue eyes standing before her.

"I think I know what I want."

London, England

Today was Harrys last day in London for a week or so, he had some business to attend to in Los Angeles so he would be away from Taylor for awhile.

Perhaps destiny thought it was for the best. Taylor needed time to think and Harry needed time to relax. The thought of Taylor not being near him, it caused a whirlpool of doubt in his mind.

A quick series of knocks came from Harry's office door.

"Come in." He instructed running one hand through his hair as he shut his laptop screen. A fragile old lady stepped opened the door carefully as a genuine smile appeared on Harry's face.

"Harry dear." Rosie's gentle voice echoed through his office.

"My goodness, you look like you haven't slept in years!" She worried. Harry let out an easy laugh. Harry had noticed brown files were being gripped tightly in her hand.

"Rosie, what do you have there in your hand?" Harry curiously asked.

"I do suppose I am a bit late, but you were never here so I couldn't have given it to you then, but I suppose you're here now so in-" she mumbled to herself.

"Can I see whatever you have in your hands?" Harry questioned.

"I didn't go through the files, but they both were hard to find and were sealed. I hope this is worth it." She said handing Harry two brown files that read Austin Swift and Taylor Swift.

Rosie promptly shut the door behind her and left Harry in a predicament. If he were to open the files he would risk knowing things about Taylor's past, that he didn't have to know. Besides if anything was that important Taylor would tell him. Or more than likely she would try and hide her past from him. Harry found himself going back and forth on whether to read or ignore the files. Eventually he gave up and put the files in his briefcase, he would later decide the fate of the files and for now would just go home and see Taylor one last time.

He politely thanked and wished his employees a good evening as he hurried his way to the elevator and down to his car.

--

The apartment was unlocked when Harry stepped in. The dull roar of electricity filled the rooms around the apartment. Utter and lonely silence lingered in the air, as Harry saw no sign of Taylor.

After stumbling into the kitchen Harry ran across a note signed in neat handwriting

Harry-

You weren't here when I woke up, so in case you see this and I am not here, I'm at the café. Please call before you come so I can be ready.

Thanks,

Taylor

She ended the note with a small heart that swirled around ever so neatly.

After reading the note over a few times Harry smiled to himself, pleased with the fact Taylor had taken time out of her day to let him know where she was. He would've assumed she was working, but it was nice to know she wrote a note.

He finished up packing his suitcase up entirely and double checked that his jet was ready for tonight.

Harry walked into the fresh London air that reeked of hope, and it was something Harry wasn't used to. He settled into his car quite nicely and began to drive to Taylor's little café. Down the road of hopelessness there was no end, he would chase her shadow until the end of the line, forever waiting on her to make up her ever changing mind.

--

"I mean usually I start with paper, but as of recently I like to go with rock first." Jake grinned stirring his coffee while looking directly at Taylor. Her shy glance found it's way to her cup of tea. She decided it would be best to try the English way for awhile and she had herself a good cup of tea.

"Did you know, that rock paper scissors is actually not a game of chance, but a game of the mind."

"Hmm," Taylor just smiled, out of all the things in the world they could've talked about, they decided to talk about a dumb game that didn't really matter to Taylor.

"You know what always wins? It's a great trick I learned from friends."

"What?" Jake decided to play along with her game. Taylor was quite pleased that he gave in so easily. Usually Harry would make some sexual or snide remark but Jake was oddly polite. Taylor could get used to this.

"Fire," Taylor set her hand down comfortably down on the table.

"I've missed you so much, Taylor. It's horrible being away from you." Jake slid his hand over Taylor's and rubbed her thumb.

"I missed you too." Taylor shyly admitted allowing a soft pink to arise from her cheeks. Jake stood up from their booth and offered a hand to Taylor.

"I do really enjoy this song." Jake began to busy out really lame dance moves, that Taylor couldn't help but smile.

"I bet you couldn't even tell me the title." Taylor laughed. Jake fuddled around with what to say, when creativity finally hit him.

"Dance with me, by Taylor featuring Jake. Have you heard it before? It's a number one hit in America." Jake remarked. He wrapped an arm around Taylor's back and led his hand into hers like they were in a fancy ball room.

"I haven't heard it in a long time." Taylor admitted as Jake twirled her in his arms.

They continued to dance for three or four more songs until Jake couldn't hold himself back. After not losing one another's gaze Jake cupped Taylor's cheeks in his hands. As if the world fell into a deep and deafening silence the two's hearts seemed to crash against one another's. Jake began to lean in, and Taylor kindly accepted letting their lips collide passionately. It started off as something slow and sweet, but as his tongue moved around they both had shown each other just how much they missed the other. Jake's hands moved to Taylor's hips as the bell that hung above the door rang.

Taylor didn't care who was there, so they continued their kiss. Jake's mouth moved to the soft spots on Taylor's neck as she felt nothing but pure pleasure. When she opened her eyes, she noticed behind Jake was a face she had wished to not see at the moment. She pulled Jake away for a spit second not believing her eyes. Jake came back attacking her mouth, when Taylor had to speak.

"Uhm, Jake." Taylor awkwardly stated pushing him away.

"Ye-yeah?" He asked as he noticed Harry's lean figure leaning against the door.

"Is this a bad time?" Harry's deep voice had a tint of sarcasm.

"No." Taylor smoothed over her apron. Jake stood unsteadily at Taylor's side scratching his head in confusion.

"So is this what you really do at your so-called job?" Harry asked walking in as if he owned the place. Harry looked around and noticed no one else was here, he sent a displeased look Taylor's direction as her guilty silence hung through the air.

"Why do you think it's okay to walk in here and insult Taylor?" Jake spoke up. Harry turned around and cocked an eyebrow at the fool who thought he could talk to him. Harry stepped over towards Jake and Taylor and looked Jake straight in the eye.

"Is this the guy from New York you were talking about, Taylor?"

"Yes." Taylor shyly responded. Harry only tried to conceal his laugh.

"I'm her boyfriend so back off, bro." Jake boldly stated. Jake puffed his chest up, but he was nothing compared to Harry's athletic build and tall figure. Just looking at Harry was intimidation at its finest.

"Don't bro me. We're not bros." Harry mocked Jake in an American accent.

"I'm her husband, so I suggest you get out." Harry stated plainly.

"She doesn't even like you, right Taylor?" Jake looked for Taylor to back him up but she shamefully looked at the two boys. Taylor whispered into Jake's ear and playfully nibbled on it in front of Harry, causing Harry to clench his jaw.

"Harry, I'm sorry dear, but I I think I'll be staying in the city with Jake this evening." Taylor's hopeful eyes turned to Jake's.

"I don't think that would be a good choice." Harry grunted.

"Why is that so?" Taylor asked fully leaning her body against Jake's making it obvious she wanted to piss Harry off as much as possible.

"It's my last night in London for awhile besides we have some arrangements we still have to work out. I think you'll be coming to Los Angeles with me."

"I don't think you know what you're doing, Harry. I'm staying here."

"What about the list?" Harry reminded Taylor.

"Screw that list. It's not like I've ever followed any of those rules anyway."

Harry looked almost defeated. He had almost given up.

"Well I guess I'll be going, good evening Taylor and her pet. Hopefully no paps catch you together, that would be quite a scandal for both of us. Good thing they never listen to hints from anonymous sources. Love you dear." Harry said planting a kiss sweetly on Taylor's cheek. His sour words were almost washed away by his lips on Taylor's skin. She felt an unnatural electricity soar through her veins.

"And Jake, I'd shake your hand but I don't wanna get whatever herpes you have." Harry flashed yet another artificial smile towards him and made his way to the door. Just before exiting he yelled out.

"Taylor, don't forget to tell Jake about our kiss." Harry yelled, as the bell that hung above the door rang twice. Leaving Taylor in an uncomfortable situation. Jake's accusing eyes stared at Taylor as she searched for answers. How could she explain to Jake something she couldn't even explain to herself.
--

Jake had stayed 30 more minutes until he couldn't take it anymore. Taylor had found away to swerve away from any Harry related conversation.

"Call me when you're ready to talk, until then good luck Taylor." Jake kissed Taylor's cheek and in the blink of an eye he was out of the door. Missing from her life once again.

Taylor turned off the machines in the little café and turned the open sign off. She locked the door and found a pay phone under a dimly lit lamppost. Regretfully she dialed in the number she lastly wanted to hear from.

"About time, Taylor." His thick accented voice was distinct even through the phone line.

Here comes trouble.
