(FRISK POV)
I walked into Muffet's cottage. The living room was small, only having a couch and a busted-up TV. The kitchen was a bit larger, and was filled with all sorts of baking implements. In between the two rooms was a spiral staircase, leading to the upstairs.
"Set him down on the couch, dearie. Oh, and make yourself at home! Ahuhu~" Muffet went off to find medical supplies. I rested Chara's head on my lap, so that his back wouldn't bloody the couch. His hair is really soft. The small room was decorated with lots of pictures of what looks to be Muffet's kids. Lots of old-timey signs were hung up around. 'Donuts, hot and fresh! Only 25g!' 'Home is where the Spider-Pie is!' Et cetera.
"I think I did a good thing back there, what do you think Chars?" He didn't respond, but it still felt nice to ask. After a few more minutes, Muffet came back down with what looked to be a few jawbreakers covered in webs.
"Here, just put one of these in his mouth, and his wounds will heal right up!" Muffet looked off to the side. "S-Sorry about the trouble, dear."
"N-No, no! It's fine, we've been through much worse. He just needs rest." I rubbed his back. It's healing. Muffet covered her mouth.
"I could not imagine what you have been through, I am so sorry!"
"It's fine." I lied. "I mean, my existence is a crime, so I can't expect everything to go smoothly. Haha..." Muffet put her hand on my shoulder.
"You are always welcome here. Asgore will take one look at you, and he'll have to let you go." Muffet looked down at Chara. "My, my. I didn't notice it at first, but I never thought I'd have Prince Chara in my establishment."
"Yeah. And before you ask, yes he did die... but he's back now, as a Monster. That whole... experience... is the worse stuff I was talking about."
"Oh dear. I hope you two are happy together."
"Oh, we are! I..." I brushed the hair out of Chara's eyes. "I couldn't be happier. He cares so much about me..." I wiped the tears out of my eyes. "S-sorry."
"I remember what it was like to be young and in love."
"Ma? Wait! Is that the human?!" One of Muffet's kids was spying on us from the staircase. As I glanced over at her, she ran upstairs. "GUYS THE HUMAN IS HERE!!!" 7 children quickly ran down the stairs and attempted to tackle me. Luckily, Muffet put her hand up and everyone froze.
"Frisk, the Human, is a welcome gust in our home." Muffet crossed her arms.
"But Ma-" The oldest one spoke up.
"No buts! She has given us enough money to not only reunite the spider clans, but also to feed us for a century." They all gasped. The oldest ran back up the stairs. A little boy with spiky brown hair walked up to me.
"F-Fank yew..." My fragile heart feels like it's going to burst, dear lord this boy is just the most adorable thing I've ever seen.
"R-Really, it's fine! Back on the surface, when I was really young... my family couldn't really afford food. The only food we had was in the garden, and even that wasn't doing too well... the point being, I can't stand to see any of you suffer what I had to go through."
"That's... really admirable." The gray-haired kid crossed her arms. "I apologize for her," she gestured to the upstairs. "She wants to be in the Royal Guard, and she has it in her brain that all Humans must perish.... Ever since Charolette left, she's put it on herself that she needs to be the mature one."
"Charolette?" Muffet put her hands together.
"Alright, dearie, it's time for some introductions!"
"The one upstairs is Aranea, the second oldest. This is Athena," The gray-haired girl. She had misty eyes and really pale (faintly purple) skin, as well as a white cane. She was obviously blind. "Natalie," her hair was long, silky, and a deep brown. Her fangs were slightly longer than the others'. "This is Aragog Jr, named after my late husband Aragog." He was the young boy with brown spiky hair. He wore a silk scarf that covered his mouth. "Little Peter." He was only slightly younger than Aragog Jr. He also had brown hair, but his was much like his older sisters, rather than like his brother. "And the youngest two," Two girls that couldn't be older than 5 hid behind Aranea's legs. "Itsy and Bitsy. They're twins."
"It's very nice to meet you all." Natalie pointed to Chara.
"Izzat your boyfriend?"
"Yep. Your mom beat him up pretty good, so he's resting. It's best we let him sleep.
"Well," Muffet stood up. "I'm going to make some pastries. Come along children, why don't you join me in the kitchen, and let them have some alone time. The younger children cheered as they moved into the other room.
I looked down at Chara, then up to the spiral staircase. I took Chara's jacket out of my phone storage and laid it over him like a blanket. He looked so peaceful. I moved his head onto a pillow and made my way upstairs.
The only door that was closed was presumably Aranea's. I knocked.
"Who is it?" A bitter voice asked from within.
"Your mom wanted me to talk to you."
"We have nothing to discuss!"
"... May I come in? Please?"
"... Fine." I opened the door. The small walls were covered floor to ceiling in Royal Guard posters. Heroic poses of Undyne and other important members. A small desk displaying many ornate weapons and action figures of many Royal Guardsman (including Papyrus, for some reason) sat in the corner. Aranea was on her bed, clutching a pillow.
"Impressive. You must really want to be in the Royal Guard."
"Just die already, human, save us all the trouble, let us free." She spoke with venom in her voice.
"You know I met Undyne once." Her eyes lit up for a second before shaking away the thought.
"You must have ran away like a coward to avoid capture."
"Oh I did. Several times, in fact. But once I was actually a guest in her home, and we got talking, we realized that we had a lot in common."
"Really?"
"We both have the same drive. The same Determination to help people. To protect our loved ones. We both have a formidable fighting spirit, and both share a love of cooking."
"Cooking? Like the Great Papyrus?" Her pillow lowered slightly. Huh. Papyrus has actual fans. I'm sure he'd be overjoyed.
"You know Papyrus?"
"Of course! He may not be in the Royal Guard yet, but he is the best chef in the whole underground, and no one can withstand his special attack! Not to mention his battle body is the pinnacle of fashion!"
"He shattered my arm, back at the beginning of my journey through the Underground."
"It must have been an honor."
"Well... We're friends, now."
"Are the rumors true?! Is the Great Papyrus really training with Undyne?!"
"Yeah. Undyne also taught me how to fight, too."
"Holy. Shit."
"The point im trying to make, Aranea, is that while humans wronged you in the past, im here to make amends. To fix all of it. Not simply by dying and allowing the monsters to be annihilated in a war, but to help you all get your freedom back. The surface is a scary world, I was treated worse that dirt up there. But monsters have so much compassion and hope, I'm hoping that with all of your help, I can show humanity compassion as well."
"Well... im sure... maybe not... all of humanity is that bad..."
"You don't say?" She looked away.
"Wh-Whatever! Im going back downstairs." As we walked down the spiral staircase, we were greeted by the scream of both small children, and my boyfriend. The little kids were running around, asking a lot of questions, jumping on him, etc. he looked at me as if to say 'Please get me out of here.'
"Alrighty, kids!" They all looked towards me. "I think it's time to leave him alone for a few minutes, I've got to talk to him outside."
"Aww..."
"It'll only be a few." We shut the door behind us.
"Do I even need to ask?" Chara asked.
"Listen, their clans were separated, and they were going to use the bounty from my SOUL to rumored them."
"Frisk—"
"They were starving, Chara—"
"Frisk... You just can't help helping people, can you?"
"I... Not really..." He wrapped his arm around me.
"Not many people would do, what you did."
"And... why is that?"
"How much money did you give them?"
"Well..."
"Frisk?"
"You see, the thing is..."
"Frisk."
"Th-three thousand...ish." Chara's mouth was agape.
"3000??? You could buy, like, 100 cinnamon bunnies with that!"
"... I couldn't let them go hungry, Chara."
"No, I get that, it's just... wow."
"... I'm going to go tell Muffet that we're leaving, soon."
. . .
"Snail Fact #72: The Snails are victorious."
"What are you going on about?"
"This book that Ms. Toriel gave me, 72 Uses for Snails—"
"By Crispy Wokinslow, I know the one."
"Well I finally reached the end..."
"And?"
"I don't know, now I don't have anything to read during our adventure."
"Well, I'm full of fun facts, maybe I could entertain you on the road, I'm only your boyfriend, after all." He wrapped his arm around me.
"...That'd be nice... Just one thing."
"Hm?"
"I don't really get the ending of the book..."
"Well, first off, you have to understand that this guy was... . . . . . ."
