"Uh... Maybe it was someone else. It need not be your friend." I replied while emphasizing the word your.
"What do you mean by my friend? " He questioned like it was a matter of fact.
"I mean you are so nice but he... Well, he was rude to me so I just thought that maybe your friend circle will be anything but him."
I then continued,
"Firstly, he cornered me and then said that we are not strangers. Well, to me, he looked like a creep."
He got an amused expression on his face at this comment and then in the blink of an eye, it went away and was covered with a serious kinda expression.
He was focused on something or rather someone behind me.
And that's when I felt a rough muscular hand around my shoulder. I looked to my right and saw that it was the same creep or maybe..... Just maybe Leonardo.
"And she didn't give me a single sarcastic reply. " He commented in an amusing way. I was shocked. Like moments ago he was all serious with me and now he is..... Joking?
He felt really close to me so I tried to get out of his grip but ofcourse how could I, he was way more stronger than me. And then he looked at me and we locked eyes.
That was the time when I took in his green emerald eyes. They were darker at first but became soft the second we locked our eyes. He had long lashes that girls can be jealous of and a chiseled jawline. One could say that he was carved by the Gods themselves. I was really sounding like a hormonal teenager right now but eh.
Yeah okay I am one but still.
Just as we both were staring at each other, a cough sound broke us out of our trance.
We looked straight and saw that it was Jax. He was looking between us with a sweet smile plastered on his face. I took the opportunity and got out of his grip.
"Well, what are you doing here? " I asked him.
" I guess Jax was my best friend before your roommate?" He asked,showing his charismatic smile.
I looked away quickly. "So you really are his friend. "
"Yup"
" So shall we continue Jaxy? And ofcourse I don't need to ask you to join right? " I asked Jax while pointing towards Leonardo.
"Yeah we should and Leo you can join us. " Jax replied and Leo nodded his head.
We then resumed our eating session and then Jax formally introduced me and Leonardo. What an old name.
"So Fia meet Leonardo De Anjelo, my best friend. He goes to the same college as us and is in 2nd year with me. And Leo meet Fia, she came here yesterday and is my new roommate. "
I gave Leo my best fake smile . And he just glared at me as expected. Rude.
"Leo no!" I yelled at him
"We don't need that Leo." Came out Jax's calm voice.
"I swear to God I will never ever come for grocery shopping with you. "
Our dear Leo was happily checking out each and every corner of the store like a five year old and picking out every food item that has ever existed in this whole planet.
Why would someone need 20 packets of oreos? Or 15 skittles? Yeah okay they are really tasty and all shit I know but those many?
"I am paying. And I will discard every useless item that you have put in. " I shouted over my shoulder while making my way to the cashier.
Turning back I saw that Leo's full lips had turned into a pout, and not gonna lie, he was looking really cute. But this scared me a little as well.
Just some time ago he was being a rude asshole and now he is acting all soft soft. God knows whats wrong with him.
It was decided that we will be heading to the mall as there was some kinda function next weekend so we all needed to shop.
We all headed to our respective cars and then Jax said, " I am gonna go and drop these bags off at home. I forgot my wallet also so I'll get that too."
Leo and I exchanged a shocked yet displeased look, knowing what was about to happen. And just then Jax said it out loud.
"So you both go ahead, I will be back soon. Just share your location with me, okay? " He asked Leo. Leo nodded in response.
We both saw Jax driving out of the drive way. " Follow me. "
I didn't respond and continued walking while rolling my eyes at him.
He held the door of his BMW open for me and I got in the passenger seat. He sat in the drivers seat and drove out of the driveway.
I couldn't help but take a look at him . His all black hair that was once all jelled back was now messed up, yet he looked hot somehow. The windows were open so he rested one of his hands on the door and drove with the other. He raked his hand through his hair multiple times.
He looked at me for seconds and then looked straight ahead like earlier.
"You know it is rude to stare. But then here you are telling me that I am rude." He said.
I looked down at my hands while I felt a tint of red covering my cheeks. I hated my transparency.
I regained my composure and replied,
"Cornering a girl and creeping her out is considered rude in my dictionary. "
I could see from the corner of my eye that he took a short look at me before raking his hands through his already messed up hair once again and spoke,
" Don't act like you didn't like the cornering part. Your heart was beating damn fast. And as long as you consider me 'creep' for giving you hints, I am okay with it. " He smirked after that.
Did I like it?
I questioned myself.
Maybe you did cus you were breathing hysterically after he left.
Yeah cus I was scared.
Yes but no it was because you like crazy shit.
My inner voice answered my question.
"How does it even matter? Whether I liked it or not? " I questioned him.
"Well it does, it did, and it will." He answered in all possible tenses while I rolled my eyes at him. Again.
"Do you really think that I have met you before?" I asked him, quite curious by now. Like how do I know someone who lives in California? When I didn't come to California before now?
"Well, you have heard about me. But you are being oblivious so I can't help. " He answered and shrugged.
I opened my mouth to reply but he cut me off by saying "we are here now. "
I sighed and went inside the mall with him walking beside me.
I entered a shop and the saleswoman began showing me some party dresses.
I tried 5 dresses out in two different shops but nothing seemed much appealing to me.
Leo was busy on his phone texting away God knows who.
But I was taking his opinion as well. I am sorry I hardly shop on my own. And he dismissed all the three dresses in the first shop as well as the other 2 in the other shop , saying that it wasn't the dress. On asking what he meant by that, he just shrugged and I rolled my eyes. They were paining from all the rolling to be honest.
We entered the third shop and the sales man showed me three blue, white and black dresses. The black one caught my eye and I tried it out. I pretty much liked it. But when I showed it to Leo, he took a good look at it and said, "Still not good "
"It's amazing. Open your eyes and look at it." I replied. He made his eyes bigger using his fingers, mocking me. He came to normal and said " Change it."
I huffed in annoyance and changed it.
I opened the door and saw Leo holding up a red mini dress.
"Now wear this and see." It was pretty small and showed a lot of skin. And I being a not-so-confident-about-my-body kinda girl, shook my head.
"Just try it out " He said.
"Fine" I blew a raspberry and took the dress from his hands.
He said "Good girl" And closed the door on his way back.
I tried the dress out and oh my god, did it looked amazing on me. I was a bit unsure though. It hugged my body and curves nicely and had ruffled up sleeves.It ended just a little above my knees.
I got out of the changing room and Leo was out there waiting for me. He gaped at me first and raked his eyes up and down my body thrice.
"Now this is the dress." He put both his hands on my shoulder and directed me towards the mirror. He put his hands on my waist and whispered in my ear,
"Just look how pretty you look in it." I turned into a tomato the second those words left his mouth.
And then we saw someone running into the changing room.
And that someone turned out to be Jax.
"Sorry I took a lot of ti-" He stopped mid sentence and took in my appearance.
"Jesus, you look hot. "
He complimented with a smirk earning a glare from both me and.....Leo?
"What took you so long? Were you making your wallet? " I asked entering the changing room to change back into my original outfit. "Nah, I just had some work to do. " He said from outside.
I came out with the dress and told the sales man that I was buying it. I took out the cash from my bag and held it out to him. "Actually ma'me, sir has already paid for the dress. " He said while pointing towards Leo.
"Oh okay. " I replied still not getting why would Leo pay for me?
"Why did you pay for my dress Leo? " I asked while we three exited the shop.
"Just consider it as a gift from me. " He shrugged.
"Well, I could have payed for it. But anyways, thanks. " He just smiled at it.
After I bought some matching ornaments for my dress, we exited the mall. The boys didn't buy anything cus they were 'tired'.
"Would you like to have Italian for lunch? " Leo asked.
"Hell yeah. " Jax replied.
"Umm i am not feeling so well. I'll just like to head home guys. " I said while clutching my stomach. My period pain catching up to me.
They exchanged a look and I drove home with Jax while they ordered Italian takeout.
