A couple of days have passed. Today Shoto and I trained together with endeavor supervising our training so he can give us tactics. We fought with our flames; though every time I fought with Shoto I never gave my all like if I was going in Shotos speed of how much he could take. It felt like endeavor was using me for his son's sake at times, like if I was an object that Shoto had to kick, climb, disappear, or plant.
Currently we filled the whole practice room with fire, sweat dripping from our bodies. Endeavor interrupted in-between us applying his flames, he outburst our flames away and spoke.
"In order to become a hero you have to go past your limits," he turned to Shoto "You have to show Mondragon you are a capable opponent," he turns his face to me, " and you have to have in mind emotions will get in the way."
I pant and say "what do you mean 'emotions will get in the way'? *pant* Do you think I can lose control that easily?"
"Everyone has limits and your limits are your feelings." I gulped in his response. Am I that readable? I've been with him for some days and he can already assume my weakness. "No one can lie, your strength is phenomenal, you've made that quirk of yours something spectacular but even the strong ones have weaknesses no matter how hard things can get, you will push but anything can trigger your heart and mind."
"I! Y escucha bien I am strong and I will never let some foolish feeling get the best of me." I wipe the sweat from my forehead and walk away, getting a sip of water. Shoto walks beside me and also gets a sip of water.
"These days being on an internship with you has shown me how weak I'm compared to you at this moment but one day I will be at your level and furthermore."
I looked at him with an unbelieving smile, "really? you barely realize how weak you are and! compared to me! por favor," I laugh "no but yeah I'm totally not that powerful don't get mistaken your so much greater than me! I could kneel to you right now!" I sarcastically say.
"huh? Should I laugh too?" He gets confused. I start to doubt this boy has any comprehension of what sarcasm is.
"It's nothing."
"Let me tell you something Mondragon," I turned to look at all mighty endeavor standing beside me, the same old pose arms crossed and back firmly. "How would you respond to a situation of someone you love getting killed or killed in front of your eyes?"
I tightened my jaw and my eyes avoided his stare. If I ever saw my brothers in that situation... at that moment.... "I would demolish anything and anyone."
"In a situation like that you have to learn how to control yourself especially rencor and revenge."
"Métete eso por el culo. How can you say that when you haven't experienced losing someone? You will know that feeling someday and I promise you that whoever does anything to the people I love is dead." I say this coldly, making it known I am not playing games. He looks at me and back at Shoto, then turns around, heading to the door.
"You two, let's go. Wear your costumes. I will give a last round in the city."
"at this hour? We've been learning and training since morning. It's already dark outside." Shoto says
"No excuses. Hurry up"
We start walking around the city, all of a sudden big and weird giant creatures start appearing from nowhere; people around us start screaming. Endeavor flames up the creatures and a small old man arrives.
"Endeavor your here. Nomus are surrounding the city, hurry up and evacuate and help the civilians."
"no need to tell me." Endeavor starts rushing and helping all the pro heroes around. I myself was about to help, but Shoto ran the other way. Is he running away? I got distracted from Shoto. I didn't notice a large bird creature approaching me and punching me like a sack of beans. I slid onto the ground and swung my body up towards the Nomu. I kicked him hard in the face, my eyes open wide as it didn't have any effect. My punches and kicks always work no matter who or what. The Nomu grabs my ankle and slams me on the floor. I smirk on the ground and the nomu screams and brings his fist in the air above me, ready to smash their big fists on me.
With just a blink he smashed his fists down. Big dust emerges all over the smash as it clears up. It is seen I am not on the ground anymore; the Numo looks for me and stares up. I was right in front of that dirty thing.
"Te va doler mas a ti que a mi, pero puro choro papá"
This was the right time to use my new ability. Tightening the metal gloves, I concentrated the fire in one fist; this time the fire didn't expand in the air; it got out the middle of my gloves like a noodle string. I created a whip (like Wonder Woman's) The Nomu lifted their hands up like a zombie. I jumped up and swirled the whip around its neck. My body held like a monkey from behind his neck. I tightened the whip and added more fire into it; it turned a red bloody color and it started melting through the Numos skin.
"YAAAaaaah!" I pulled the whip and like that it went through the numos neck. I jumped back and the Nomu's head fell on the floor; the body fell on its knees and fell completely on the ground.
"que cañon." I ran in the direction I shoto ran to. I eyed every corner and alleyway, and I hit an alleyway where cuatro ojos, salsa verde and papi issues were. They were all injured. Shoto was on his feet with Midoriya fighting someone other than a Nomu.... a villain. I was going to run inside the valley, but I stopped seeing two people on the floor bleeding, not being able to move, and shoto and midoriya fighting for survival was a good side to see. It wasn't that I didn't want to help, but that villain I had to observe first before joining the fight. He held a sword, a mask around his eyes, knives, and a red scarf around him. Both of them fought the villain with everything getting scratched with knives falling and getting back up shoto firing flames at him while protecting iida and another man.
Observing closely, the Villain was stepping up his game. I knew for a fact and well, simple fact these kids Midoriya, shoto and everyone in my class have little to know how to deal with villains and rescue. I've had experiences with Villains and crime. It was something normal for me. 80% of my life I had never once helped people, even if they were suffering. I was taught that if I was going to get involved, I had to end it and be there for whoever I saved till the end. My family always found it troublesome because you can never help the whole world, so just let it be, but I always regretted not getting involved.
Midoriya fell and was hurting. The villain jumped up an evil expression about to attack shoto with his sword. Shoto didn't have time to react so much going around him, he was for sure going to end up in critical conditions if that sword slashes him.
I came to his aid, jumping above him, and got my half-broken sword out. Both the villain's sword and mine crashing together, we both stared at our eyes and pulled away. I put my sword back away.
"y/n?!" Midoriya, Shoto and Iida both said, surprised by my appearance.
"You guys really look pathetic, especially you Iida. pareces mosca aplastada mijo." He cried on the floor, gripping the cement, trying to move.
"y/n this is Stain he licks the blood of anyone and paralyzes them be careful!." Midoriya explains while trying to get up holding his injuries.
"No need to explain, I saw everything." Both of them looked at me with a face that said, 'you saw?! and didn't help us?!'
Stain runs forward and throws knives at me from every direction. I shield my sides with fire and harden it as the knives come close and then bounce back. I ran in front of him and kicked him up and smack him down; just then his feet both hit me in the stomach. I fall back and see Iida on his feet, in despair to end Stain.
"All of you are the cancer to society's system of what a 'hero' is! Every hero is the same! you need someone to set you up straight! know what the meaning of a 'hero' really is! This generation knows nothing of that word! "
My eyes widened. He clearly stated my way of thinking, someone that understands this society that can see what the 'real life' we are all living. I was paralyzed, standing wide, eyes opened, my flames in my fist decreasing. Stain jumps up the walls, but I continue to stand there. I couldn't sink into what Stain had just said.
"Y/n move!" Shoto screams, Iida rushes towards me, moving me from stains sword going through me.
"no me toques pinche pulga!" I push Iidas hands away from me. Stain jumps from the wall to me, our eyes meeting, and his sword poking out. I extend my hand out, so the point of the sword goes through my palm with my free hand. I grabbed his neck, my nails sinking into his skin, and smashed his face and body into the floor. I wish society wouldn't do this to people that wake up to reality. Shoto Ice Stain's body and then MIdoriya restrain him with ropes. I stand leaning against the wall, arms crossed, looking at Stain with deep thought. Pulling the sword out of my palm, I walk up to stain and rip his red scarf and wrap it around my injured hand.
Leaning my mouth to his ear, I whisper "I wish things would've ended differently. I understand you and I will make a change no matter what~" I walk away.
"Keep that promise but....," He lifts his head up, " you will end up like me one day." I stopped my track and listened to what he had to say. I knew exactly what my place was 'risking and giving my life' . If I want to make a change, I have to give my all from my power to my life, love, and reputation.
Soon pro heroes came and were in shock of who was tied up.
"y/n what did Stain mean by 'Keep that promise but you will end up like me one day' ?" Midoriya walks up to me with Iida and shoto beside him.
"Nothing, he is crazy. Just be happy he is tied up." I changed the subject "shoto do you think your father will get angry we interfered in a fight?" I say
"Most likely--"
"Everyone get down VILLAIN!" A flying nomu came down from the sky at full speed and grabbed Midoriya. I flew behind him, but Stain untied himself and paralyzed the numo cutting him into the floor.
"Villains and heroes are different but both sides are exactly the same!" Has he saved Midoriya? He isn't just a villain, but he isn't exactly a hero.
Endeavor showed up to the scene. Stain got up on his feet, looking at endeavor with full hatred and blood-shattering eyes. It gave me chills as well as everyone around "You- YOU FAKE!!" Standing just in the middle of them, I look at endeavor and back at Stain. "Someone has to make things right!! I must take back what it means to be a hero!!!." He took big slow stomps forward, the wind blowing through his clothes. "Come! Try and get me, you fakes!." I stepped back with my head laid back, resisting the smirk that wanted to appear.
...but that satisfaction didn't last when he said "The only one!! I'll let kill me is the true hero!!...." True hero? My heart sinks, he doesn't mean... "All Might!!!!!!!!!!" Everyone is frightened by him, but I.....but I clench my jaw, clench my fists, and look at him with betrayal. He then paralyzes in his spot; everybody stays in shock without moving a single muscle. Walking slowly, my head down, my expression leaving no emotion, I touch his shoulder and he falls to the floor.
"Mondragon!" The old man Gran Torino, screamed at me.
I walked back, untying the red scarf from Stain, dropping it with harsh rancor on the floor, and stepping over it. "He isn't dead so take him." I-say
After that we got sent to the hospital. I told them I was fine, but they said I still needed to be there for an investigation. The day after, I woke up in a hospital bed with the three boys in the same room. They were already awake talking about what happened yesterday.
"y/n you woke up, how is your hand?" Midoriya says
"It's all good." I-say
"y/n do you mind if I ask you again what really was the reason behind the discussion you and Stain had? it still doesn't make sense to me." He says with the two others intrigued to hear my answer.
"Nothing. Nada captas. Midoriya, you don't trust me, do you?"
"No-no I do! It's just....--" He looks away, avoiding my eyes
"Don't say anything," I part my hands out in front of me. " I already know your answer. Me vale gorro si me creen o no. I don't care if any of you believe me or not. let's just leave it with I'm glad Stain is in custody he deserves to root there like the rat he is!" I say and get up flipping a jacket around my shoulders that was given to me along with simple clothes.
"Where are you going? You can't leave this room or the hospital." Cuatro Ojos says. I rolled my eyes at him and continued to walk towards the door.
"y/n," Shoto says with his low voice sounding serious. "I believe everything you say, but if you go you will get in furthermore trouble and for what reasons the pros are taking good care of you, and you know what I mean by that."
Does he believe me? There goes my jackpot Shoto Todoroki walking behind me. The number 2 hero's son is taking my side. Another win in my favor.
" It doesn't concern you if I get run over or if I get in trouble....Or does it Shoto Todoroki?" I flip around, resting my head to the side, giving him a confused yet careless face.
"No. no it doesn't concern me, but I will be worried for you."
'But I will be worried for you." echoed through my head. I have him hooked. Thinking of the benefits he will be to me. I decided to not act all sensitive with him but to keep it normal.
"uh! what is up with everyone worrying about me," I walk forward to the door, "just mind your business pinche metiches..---" I slid the door open, and I'm greeted by someone's stomach. I stare up and see a dog head with a human body. He turns me around, preventing me from leaving the room.
"I'm Kenji Tsuragamae Hosu's chief of police, You guys must be the U.A students who brought down the hero killer, right?"
"Yes" Now why would the dog body of a chief come all this way here? "Killer stain is receiving treatment under strict guard for all his injuries he got, woof." Mejor que lo dejen que se pudra el pendejo. "Since you are U.A students, I'm sure you already know that superpowers have norms and standards in the police department and make sure that quirks are not being used as weapons. There are certain powers that can release tremendous damage, so it is thanks to early heroes who followed ethics and rules to become their professions, woof. Without supervision of a guardian or a hero it is a violation of the rules. The four of you and the pros who were involved must receive strict punishment. --"
I stood next to shoto when he jolted up, "wait a minute if Iida didn't step in Native would have been killed. If no one had noticed both Iida and Native them both would have been killed.---" I put my hand in front of him to stop him from talking.
"Look, Mister Kenji te lo voy a explicar con manzanas. let's say we rewind everything ok and follow your rules then the four of us would just watch and see people die with a juice in our hands thanking the police department for the holy rules of yours. That's how you sound."
"So, you're saying that as long as it turns all right, it's okay to bend the rules?" El perro de dos patas says without any regard for what me and shoto said.
Shoto steps up "Isn't it a hero's job to save people?!"
Kenji disapproves "uhh what is U.A and endeavor teaching you, woof? Before you guys start ranting again you will not be punished nor anyone that will be known to the public that defeated stain will be endeavor."
The three beside me step forward and apologize. I stayed behind with my uninjured hand on my hip, rolling my eyes 'again the heroes are forgiven'.
Some time went by, and they left. The four of us had to stay quiet as we were the real ones who brought Stain down but knowing me it would probably slip out. "I'm going"
"Where?" Shoto says, walking up to me. "You can't go with endeavor; he is probably being interviewed."
"I'll go for a walk and go back to the agency."
"Are you not worried or scared about yesterday's situation?"
"I wish, but no. Not even a drop yesterday was like a practice round because none of yesterday had an impact for me, but for you guys," I look at all of them up and down cockily " It was a rough dramatic battle." I continued walking. "You all have a long way to go." I slid the door open, stepped out of the room, and heard Shoto's words.
"Be careful and we will get stronger"
Leaving the hospital, I walked around the city on big screens reflecting yesterday's villain attack. I took a seat on a bench that faced the road, people, and stores. Taking a look at my stitched hand, memories flashed from yesterday to 6 years ago, another permanent scar to live with. By the end of my life, I'm sure I'll have hundreds, thousands or even millions all over my body, my mind, my soul... and my heart.
"Y/n Mondragon, I can't believe we can finally meet."
I was brought out by someone taking a seat next to me. They had a black jacket, their face covered by their hood; their head stared up in front without moving their stare, his hands down his pockets. The smell of rotten wood and dirty mat covered them 'bad' and 'homeless' written all over them.
