Once Yelena made her way out of the helicopter, Y/N sat down on the bench next to their belongings. Wracking their brain, they tried to understand why Yelena was acting like this. Does she just want to be friends? They thought. Does she think that was moving too fast? Is she afraid of something?

They sat back, resting their head on the metal wall behind them and closing their eyes. I've only known her a few days, this is insane.

Little did they know that Yelena was also in her own head as well. Trying her best to figure out why this was all so terrifying to her. She could have leaned in just then when Y/N had her wrapped in their arms. She could have told them that she thinks they're insanely attractive and that she always wants their lips attached to hers.

But she couldn't. The anxiety that sat in the pit of her stomach when she thought about the way Y/N made her feel was too much. Even trying to sift through her own thoughts made her want to cry and that was too much to worry about right now.

After a few minutes, the two shoved their feelings as far down as they could and followed Nat to the mission that they were now set on. This first base was thought to be the easiest, which was a good start for them to get on the right track with what they need to do moving forward.

Y/N would set up just outside the base to keep an eye out for anything suspicious or dangerous while Yelena and Nat made their way inside to take out the operative that was stationed in his office. As they made their way out, they would release the serum into the vents - freeing all of the Widows on the base.

"Everyone doing alright?" Nat asked through their comms.

Yelena had started scaling down the building from the roof while Nat entered through the bottom floor. Y/N had set up at the top of a neighboring church inside the open pillar that housed its bell. The bell in which they'd already managed to tap and ring by accident more than once.

"Could we have not found a building easier for me to set up in?" asked Y/N clearly annoyed.

The sisters ignored their question and continued on. Y/N was able to see Yelena slowly scale down the wall that was set closely next to another building. Nat was able to be seen on the opposite side, scanning windows to gauge which entrance would serve her best.

Within a few minutes, they both had found their preferred entrances and made their way inside. Y/N had just finished setting up the scanners, which allowed them to see the heat rays of their bodies as they walked through the building.

They looked up after finishing their last code in the computer, finding both Yelena and Nat's bodies through the glasses they'd put on, "Scanners are up. I can see you both now. How is it looking inside?"

Both were moving rather slowly as they tried their best to look for meaningful areas that would lead them straight to the operatives.

"Looks clear for the most part," Yelena started as Y/N watched her round a corner, "does it look this clear on your end?"

Somehow she'd managed to pick a rather empty floor while Nat had picked just the opposite.

"Yeah, really clear. Maybe two or three people aside from you on this entire floor, but I'd say there's a reason for that. Head back and to the right, you might find an important office that way," Y/N replied as they scanned back down to Nat.

Though the room she chose to enter was empty, the floor was not by any means.

"Nat, you holding up?"

She ducked behind another wall before responding, "Barely. I need to find a way to blend in with them."

Before either Y/N or Yelena could respond, Nat had taken the next few seconds to grab a widow that was pacing the floor. She knocked them out cold and switched their outfits in a nearby storage closet.

"What the hell is that sound?" Yelena asked while Nat was getting redressed.

"Nothing, where are you?" She responded, "Y/N, how many floors up do I need to go to meet her?"

As Y/N began counting, they realized how difficult that trip up would be if made inside the building. She was now disguised but everyone knew Natasha Romanoff, the Master Assassin.

After arguing for a few minutes that she would be better off scaling the side of the building, Y/N told her just where Yelena was so that she could find her.

And they hadn't seen her in action like this in ages. Watching her flip through the halls and take down agents in silence was enthralling. Y/N did their best to silently applaud and cheer her on. Within a few minutes, she was now side by side with her sister.

Then, within a few more, the two had taken down the operative that Y/N had easily pointed out. He was cuffed and laid down on the floor as Nat called Fury to have someone take him in.

As Y/N started packing up, they stopped just as they noticed Yelena walking up to the man laid flat on the floor. Her body language was telling, pushing Y/N to speak, "Yelena what are you-"

Before they finished, Yelena's foot had connected harshly with the side of his face.

"NAT! TURN AROUND!" Y/N yelled through the comms.

As she did, Yelena landed another kick to the side of his neck this time. Her shoes were unforgiving steel, knocking the man out instantly.

"What the FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!" Nat yelled as she pushed her back and stooped down to check on the man.

In normal Yelena fashion, she did not answer but left through the window. Y/N watched her scale down the side of the building, speechless. Her face was unwavering and honestly, a bit scary for them to see.

She made her way back to the helicopter, refusing to wait for either Nat or Y/N. Nat had tried speaking to her, but Y/N had watched her take out her comm and crush it underneath the boots that had just burnt a man.

A few moments laster, the man was picked up and escorted out by a S.H.I.E.L.D agent while Nat used the serum on all of the remaining widows. This would have been much quicker had Yelena stuck around to help, but Y/N picked up the pieces and assisted in freeing them and explaining what was happening.

The looks on their faces were ones of joy and despair. Remembering what they had been stuck in for so long, but now finally being free. It was beautiful and Y/N couldn't help but look over at their best friend in admiration. She'd overcome this. She'd made a name for herself, a new one, and here she was.

Helping all of those that came after her. Natasha Romanoff. A true hero in her best friend's eyes.
