I shivered as a cold wind blew against the side of the ship. We were set on an ice planet, waiting for Drax to send the signal to begin our air strike on the targeted building. Our mission was to steal some highly valued crystals with some mythical whatever power and sell them for a hefty price in units. Rocket, Drax, and Groot were on the ground while Quill, Gamora, Mantis and I were parked a good two hundred meters away. In any minute, we'd leap into action and steal some stones.
"Jamie, do you have any tape? There's a lazer pointer or something on this gun, and I don't want it to give me away." Quill inquired, walking up to me with a sweet automatic in his hands.
"Sorry, fresh out of tape. Maybe you should ask Nebula." I cracked, grinning to myself.
"Ha ha. For the record, she didn't have any tape either!" Quill jabbed his index finger in my direction to emphasize his point, then turned to Gamora. "Why do we always get stuck with the mouthy ones?"
As I chuckled, I glanced over to see Gamora grinning, too.
"Maybe that's just who we attract." She responded.
"Yeah, well, maybe we ought to start requiring applications." Quill grumbled, but I knew he wasn't really upset; he was just giving me the reaction I wanted. Winking at Gamora, I spoke up again.
"Would sticky tape work?"
"Yeah, that'd work." Quill spun to face me, but groaned when he saw my huge smile. "You're going on the field next time, kid!"
"Fine with me! Then you can deal with Drax." I joked.
"Ugh!"
