3rd person POV

It was the 21st of December and it was needless to say that both Jennie and Rosé were thrilled to spend their first Christmas as a couple together.

During the past month, the pair's life didn't change much from the usual. Spending time together, going to school, having classes, Rosé working at the coffee shop, Jennie improving and controlling her powers, etc. The only thing that was bothering the blonde was the lack of time that Jennie spent with her due to her work, but she couldn't complain because she didn't want to be annoying or possessive.

For those who are interested: no, they didn't have sex again. Not because they didn't want to, but both girls had a lot of exams before Christmas and they didn't have time.

However there were 3 things that remained unchanged: Jisoo and Rosé not talking, Lisa insisting on knowing what the hell happened between her best friends and Rosé's mom 'not being' aware of her daughter's relationship:

- You do realize you're gonna have to tell her right? - Jennie said while running her fingers down Rosé's back

Both girls were laying on Rosé's bed, cuddling like they always did. The brunette was facing the ceiling while running her hands through her girlfriend's back while Rosé was hugging her with one arm and with her head on top of her breasts:

- Why? I don't wanna cause any trouble, specially now when everything seems to be in place

- I wouldn't classify our state as 'in place'

The blonde looked up with concern:

- What do you mean? Is something wrong?

- No of course not - Jennie smiled and ran her fingers through the blonde locks - I just wished you and Jisoo could talk again

Rosé sighed. She genuinely thought that her anger towards her best friend would vanish with time, but she felt the exact same way. The younger didn't know if it was because it was related to Jennie. Maybe she was overprotective and she didn't realize it yet, however she couldn't just shrug and pretend like nothing happened:

- Jen.. it's not like she's apologizing everyday!

- Probably because every time she's near us, you make sure you're 5 feet away from her - Jennie touched her girlfriend's nose with her finger - And it's also making Lisa sad and frustrated

- Really? - Rosé asked, clearly busy in her messy world to notice - She seems fine

- Babe, every time we're with her she starts a whole FBI interrogation! She's always trying to go out with the four of us, but it's either her and Jisoo or her and us. The poor thing is completely clueless and it's driving her insane, believe me

The blonde closed her eyes for a quick second, focusing on her girlfriend's heartbeat with the slightest hope that it would make all of their problems vanish:

- I appreciate the fact that you don't go out with them without me tho - she bit her lip - It's not like it's a problem for you to hang out with my friends, in this case our friends, but it would be definitely weird if it was with Jisoo

- I know, I would never do anything that you're clearly not comfortable with - Rosé is indeed a lucky girl isn't she? - But I think it's time to tell Lisa

Rosé sat up quickly, which startled Jennie:

- You do realize that if we tell Lisa the reason why I'm upset with Jisoo, we have to tell her about you - she looked straight in Jennie's eyes

The brunette bit her lip and her grey painted eyes gave away her nervousness:

- I know, but.. Lisa has been one of the kindest people to me

- Then why don't you tell Minho? - Rosé fired and Jennie immediately sat up with an intense look - He's practically your brother, you guys have been friends since you were born. Why don't you tell him?

The brunette sighed and looked at the ceiling , one of the fewest things she cared about in this world and who had been with her since it all began. She didn't want to look at Chaeyoung because she knew she was right. But how could she tell Minho? Why did it seem easier to tell Lisa than him? Maybe because disappointing or scaring her newest friend didn't seem to have half the impact than disappointing her best friend:

- I don't think you should ask me those types of things - she commented rather defensively and Rosé widened her eyes with the change of humor (maybe I shouldn't have said that - she thought) - Even though you have been helping me, I'm still the one who decides what to do and who to tell about my powers

The blonde raised her hands in surrender and tried to approach the brunette, who didn't move an inch:

- I'm sorry, it was a stupid question - she rested her hand on her leg - If you wanna tell Lisa, we'll tell Lisa

Jennie eyed Chaeyoung, who had a big sincere and sweet smile plastered on her face, one she could not avoid. She cracked a small smile and laid down again, opening her arms for her girlfriend who happily cuddled with her:

- And I'll tell my mom about us too - she added and Jennie's smile widened

- Really? - Rosé nodded - That's amazing! I mean, that's amazing if she's not against lesbians or if she didn't vote for Trump, but if she is or did any of those than we have a problem

Rosé chuckled and tightened her hold on one of her favorite people in the world:

- She isn't against gays and she definitely didn't vote for Trump

- Great! But, for the record, I'm pretty sure she knows something's happening between us

The blonde tilted her head up and looked at the older girl with furrowed brows and a slight frown:

- You really think so?

- I mean, I don't know about you, but I don't spend half of my time at my friend's house or neither do I kiss them on the cheek nor get flustered when someone is talking to them - Jennie put a blonde hair strand behind her ear - And, if my mom was here, I would definitely deny any kind of romantic relationship with you, which you surprisingly don't do when yours asks you

- For the record, I do say no - the blonde pouted

- Ugh, no you don't, your mom is too straightforward since she literally asks you if we're in a relationship when I'm literally standing next to you, and you always start blushing and your only answer is a high pitched 'Mom!'

The blonde wanted to protest, but she knew the brunette was right. Instead, she focused on the new information Jennie had just told her:

- You wouldn't tell your mom about us? - she asked a few seconds later

- First things first, that woman abandoned me so it's not like she cares - Jennie noticed Rosé's facial expression changing to a embarrassed one. Shit, I don't want to make her uncomfortable- However, she's not homophobic, at least she wasn't. I mean, last time we were together, she did make pretty clear that she was grateful I had a boyfriend and, in her words: " I'm glad you aren't one of those 'shitting rainbows and going against Jesus' type of person"

Chaeyoung couldn't help but laugh with the newest revelation. The brunette smiled upon hearing her girlfriend's laugh and mentally thanked her mother for helping her with this one:

- No offense, but that does sound homophobic! Gay people poop rainbows?

- Up until now I haven't now, and now that I said that out loud, I guess it does sound homophobic - she kissed the top of her head and chuckled - I would definitely tell her that I'm dating you because, fuck her and her Iridophobia, I love you with all my heart and I would kiss those pretty delicious lips of yours in front of her

When Jennie finished her heroic statement, she remarked her sentence by giving her girlfriend a long kiss:

- Wow! Iridophobia! I'm surprised you even know that word

- Well, I honestly don't know where that one came from

- You know what babe, let them have Iridophobia, at least our poop is colorful!

- I don't wanna sound clingy, but do you really have to go? We still have to finish the decorations - Rosé pouted while looking at Jennie who was putting on her black boots

- We already talked about this Rosie, I have to go spend some time with Minho and his dad. Andddd I need to tell Lisa - Jennie finished and looked at her girlfriend - Plus, you don't need my help here

- Yeah, We don't have to do much, It's not like my dad's coming - The blonde muttered under her breath

The heartbreaking although not surprising message of her father was sent this morning. She was getting a little excited with this Christmas, specially because of Jennie, but her father had to ruin it by telling her that he actually couldn't come to New Zealand and stay with them. One more broken promise, it's not like I'm not used to it:

- It will be the three of us, and that matters too - Cris showed up and smiled to her daughter and her 'friend' - You sure your family is okay with you spending Christmas with us?

- No worries Miss Park, they're okay with it

- How many times do I have to tell you to call me Cris! - she yelled as she entered the kitchen and both girls laughed

Rosé looked at Jennie and sighed. She was so proud of her girlfriend and she knew she couldn't love someone as much as she loved Jennie:

- You sure you want to go now? It's so late

- Yes, baby, I'm sure - the brunette whispered with total awareness that Chaeyoung's mother still 'didn't know' the true nature of their relationship

- If you need me to go get you, tell me - the blonde held her hand and played with two of her fingers

- I'll be home in an hour, I promise

- But it's far— oh right, flying has its privileges

It was still very unusual for Rosé to see Jennie flying, it even seemed unreal. But if she was used to the rest of her powers than she would have to come to terms with this one, even if it seemed risky. The had discussed this topic a few weeks ago, where Jennie told her that she finally felt confident enough to fly over the city and that it was a great stress reliever. However, the only way for Jennie to do so without upsetting her little Chipmunk, was to only fly at late hours of night and always wear a typical Korean mask, just in case if anyone saw her or took a picture (which would be practically impossible due to her incredible speed while doing so):

- It sure does - Jennie smiled happily, being a huge fan of flying even though she detested heights - I'll see you later

- When you get back I want to know what Lisa said!

Jennie smiled, kissed her hand and closed the door, running towards an empty street and disappearing from Rosé's visual field. She sighed and as soon as she turned to the kitchen, there was her mother with a gigantic and also disturbing smile on her face:

- What now? - she walked to the kitchen, trying not to show any kind of sadness for Jennie's quick departure

- Nothing nothing.....

- I never had a friendship as intimate as you and Jennie have

- Mom! Come on!

Miss Park looked at her daughter and smiled, remembering how she tried so hard to hide her relationship with Rosé's father from her parents several years ago. All that secrecy was exciting and fun, but she had to hid her relationship because her progenitors didn't accept her ex husband, claiming he was too adventurous for their straight A's daughter.

She remembered how much it costed them both to continue to be together and to face their loved ones. How hard it was to chose their love instead of pleasing the ones who took care of them their whole life. So, as Cris examined Rosé's disturbed expression, she realized she didn't want her daughter to feel overwhelmed or to even think that her mother didn't support her:

- Hey sweetie, can you sit down for a moment please? - her mother asked in a caring tone and Rosé obliged - I want to talk to you about something

- Please mom, if this is about Jennie again—

- Wait wait, before you say anything else, I want to tell you something - the blonde bit her lip and slowly nodded - Several years ago, me and your father fell in love. We had this deep connection and we cared so much about each other, but we were from different worlds. At that time your father belonged to a humble family, while mine was very strict. Your grandparents forbid us to be together and, as you can predict, it didn't go exactly as planned

The blonde was looking intrigued at her mother, curious by the story but not really sure what it has to do with her:

- What I'm trying to say here is: we had to hid our relationship and leave everything behind because our parents didn't support us - I took her hand into mine - I just don't want you to think that I don't support you. And yeah, I'm talking about Jennie, but I'm also referring to everything in your life. I'll always be here for you, no matter what

Chaeyoung, very touched by this conversation, squeezed her mother's hand and, for the first time, she realized that there was no reason to be afraid. No matter how many people show up in her life, her mother will always be the one who has her back:

- I.. I really love her mom - Chaeyoung confessed her true feelings and Cris smile fondly - I never felt this way about anyone and the way she takes care of me.. and the best part is, she loves me too

- I'm so so happy for you two! My baby girl is so grown up - Cris pouted, but her smile returned quickly to her face upon seeing her daughter's expression - So, you guys official?

- Yeah.. it took a while but we got there! - Rosé chuckled excitedly, feeling very relieved and content - I know I'm too young to say these kinds of things, specially since I know her for three months, but.. I think we're really gonna last

The older woman got up and engulfed her daughter in a big bear hug:

- I'm so happy for you girls, so so happy

Chaeyoung and her mother were sitting in the couch looking at the Tv since their favorite comedy show was playing, when someone knocked at their door:

- It must be Jennie - Rosé said with an involuntary smile on her face, which her mother obviously noticed

- You don't want to keep her girlfriend waiting - Cris teased her and the blonde giggled

- My girlfriend.. my girlfriend!

She went to the door and smiled widely upon seeing Jennie, who had a nervous expressing painting her face:

- What's wrong? - the blonde asked, no longer smiling - Did Lisa say something bad?

- No no! Actually she reacted very well, she was super confused at first, but afterwards she was super curious and I even had to show her some tricks. She was indeed very upset with Jisoo and I honestly think she's going to talk with her. But that's not why I'm like this.. I.. I have a present for you

- Oh Jen, you didn't have to - she eyed her lovingly - But you can't give it to me now, you have to wait 'til tomorrow

Jennie shook her head and entered what she called her 'second home':

- Where's your mom?

- She's in the living room - the brunette started heading there, but her girlfriend grabbed her hand - Wait! What's so wrong?

- I just have to show you two your Christmas present - she said rather quickly which gave off her nervousness. Chaeyoung wanted to interrogate her further, but decided she had a more important subject to address - Can we go now?

- No, I also need to tell you something - Rosé took a deep breathe - I told my mom we're dating

Jennie's worried expression softened and she squeezed Chae's hand:

- I'm so proud of you baby - she rested her other hand on her cheek and Rosé leaned in - That means that I can call you everything I want and kiss you anywhere

- Jen! - the blonde blushed - You can, but I don't want my mom to see us devour each other's mouths

The brunette laughed and looked softly at her girlfriend:

- Forgive me if I went too far

- About what?

Jennie didn't answer and simply pulled her to the living room:

- Hi Jennie - Cris greeted her and the brunette gestured Rosé to the couch - You know I like you, but I need to know your true intentions with my daughter

- Mom! - Rosé called her out and the younger adult blushed

- I-It's okay - she stuttered, which surprised Rosé since she knew her girlfriend used to be so confident. The Korean girl took a deep breath and looked directly at the woman who had been a mom to her from the past months - Your daughter is the person I cherish the most. Without her, I would still be working my ass off to pay for the college of my dreams and I would've never been fully accepted for who I truly am. Without her I would've never been capable of loving someone, of doing everything I can just to see her smile. I don't know wanna sound too cliché, but I am deeply in love with your daughter

Rosé sniffed, completely emotional by Jennie's answer and feeling like she was the luckiest girl alive. The brunette eyed them both and smiled shyly since they had the exact same reaction:

- Because I love her so much, I did something that might upset you - her sentence intrigued the small family - I am aware of your situation with Rosé's father and sister and I know that I don't have a say in this, but her happiness is my goal.. and personally, not having a present das in my life was something that messed me up. So...

Jennie took out two airplane tickets from her pocket and Cris gasped, while the blonde blinked rapidly not quite sure of what was happening::

- Are those...

- I have been working double shifts because I wanted you guys to have something that I don't for a few years.. time with your family

The brunette reached forward and gave the two tickets to the shocked and emotional women:

- You guys leave tomorrow to Australia and return on the 26th - she smiled - I hope I haven't cross a line

Rosé's eyes were flooding with tears. The mere thought of seeing her big sister, her father and to return to her second home made her burst with joy. And all of this because her girlfriend had worked her ass off.

The girl got up and engulfed Jennie in a big hug, holding tight and never wanting to let go:

- I.. I don't know how to thank you - she cried on her shoulder - Our biggest goal is to bring food to the table, so we never thought we would have the chance to..

- It's okay, baby - she kissed her head - Now you can go see your family

- And you're coming with us - Cris interrupted and got up - I was saving to buy Rosé's gift, but I'm sure she doesn't mind if I spend the money on a plane ticket for you

- Of course not! - Chaeyoung said excited

- But..

- No but's! You're my daughter's girlfriend and you've been one of the kindest people I've ever known. If you're up for it and if your family doesn't mind, I will gladly buy you a plane ticket

Rosé looked at Jennie, who seemed shocked and surprised. The idea of introducing her girlfriend to her father and sister seemed scary, but, at the same time, it was an incredible opportunity to take their relationship to the next level:

- Please Jen - she held her beautiful face in her hands and noticed her contact lenses slowly starting to burn - Let me show my loved ones the girl who stole my heart

Chaeyoung's soft touch and kind words warmed Jennie and made her take a deep breath. Her eyes returned to it's normal color and she slowly smiled:

- Let's go to Australia
