A/N I'm going to do the next couple chapters in POV's and then go back to third person. I think it'll be easier and better to focus on the ✨drama✨
Amity POV:
I ran out of there as fast as I could. This could not be happening right now. It felt like a nightmare. Luz told me about how Jessica treated her and she gets back with her? I heard Boscha and Skara call after me and I stopped running, breathing heavily. They finally caught up to me.
Breathing heavy like me, Boscha spoke. "I don't know what her deal is but I'm sure it's some misunderstanding, if you talk to her-". "No, there's no point", I said with my back towards my friends. "What do you mean there's no point?", Skara asked. I sighed and turned around. "What do you want me to say?", I started. "Oh Luz I'm in love with you and I hate that you're with Jessica", I said pretending to be swooning.
My two friends looked at me. "Yeah basically", Boscha said. I shook my head at her sat on the sidewalk. "Clearly Luz Isnt into me", I said. "Also we already know how Jessica is". "That's bullshit", Boscha says. "Yeah ams there's no way she isn't", Skara agreed . "You know, sometimes I wonder, what is it like her her shoes". I said. "Whos's? Jessica's?", Boscha asked. "Yep", I replied. "Why's that", skara asked. "Jessica doesn't hesitate. She exhibits no restraint. She takes, and she takes, and she takes and she keeps winning anyway", I say standing up mad.
"Changes the game , plays and she raises the stakes. And if there's a reason she seems to thrive when so few survive, then goddamnit I'm willing to wait for it". I turn away. "I'm willing to wait for it", I say quietly to my self before walking towards the school. It was kind of cold out and I forgot my jacket. Typical me. I don't go back though. I keep moving forward. I think about the times Luz and I had. Luz. Why am I still thinking about her?
I see the building coming into the distance. I reached the doors which were unlocked still so that helped. I walked up stairs and to my dorm. I hesitantly turned the knob. She wouldn't be in here, would she? I went for it and opened the door. She wasn't here. Good. Part of me wanted her to be. Part of me thought talking to her could maybe fix whatever was broken I guess. Something just didn't feel right with the whole situation.
Maybe it's reality catching up with me trying to tell me I can't actually be happy. I went to the bathroom and turned the shower on. A nice shower would probably help me relax a bit. I turned on some music, trying to avoid anything that reminded me of Luz. Then I thought about the song, the competition. There's no way I could skate with her now.
My mind would not be in the right place. I finally found a song, pressed play and got ready to get in. Literally every song was making the situation worse. I washed my hair and hurried out. I needed something else to distract me. I got dressed and started to blow dry my hair. Once I finished that, I went and sat on my bed.
What can I do to take my mind off of this? If I hang with my friends they'll just ask if I'm ok a hundred times. The twins? No that's a last resort. A resort that I might have to, well, resort to. I call em and asked what they were doing. Apparently they were out with Viney and Jerbo. The twins stayed at the manor even though they're old enough to move out.
They work here for sport events like hockey games. Hockey. Luz. Omg I need to stop. I lay down and scream in my pillow. I then turn over and lay on my back. "How in the hell am I supposed to perform without a partner", I say out loud. I think about the song again and got a thought.
I look over to Luz's side of the room and saw the notebook on her desk. Should I? No. That's invasion of privacy. Well it is our song. Was our song. No I can't. Instead, I pull out my phone and texted Boscha to see if she had made it to her dorm. She replied yes and asked if I needed company. Great she already knows. I told her yeah and she told me I could come over.
I grabbed what I needed and headed for Boscha and willow's dorm. They didn't stay too far from...us. I shake the thoughts of Luz out of my head and arrive at the front door. I knock and wait for an answer. Just then Willow opens the door and invites me in. There I saw Boscha and skara sitting on the bed. They even look like they were waiting for me. I sit on the bed across from them and Willow sits next to me.
It's quiet at first until Willow speaks up. "How are you feeling?". "I'm fine guys really", I say trying to avoid talking about it. "Says the one who ran out crying", Boscha said rolling her eyes. Skara smacked the back of her head. It honestly made me laugh a bit. "I cant be mad, Luz and I weren't a thing", I said. "But you can be", skara said. "Yeah I agree, lumity can still happen", Boscha said.
I look at her and blink. "What the fuck is lumity?", I ask. "Your ship name duh", she replied. I shook my head. "Do you really have to have a name for everything?", I ask my friend. She nodded her head in response. "I think that I'm just gonna go home early", I said. "I just need to get away". They looked at each other then back at me. "Ok ams, we'll take you", Boscha said. They all got up and started grabbing their stuff. "Wait right now?", I ask standing up. "Yeah, hurry your ass up", Boscha said walking out the door.
I follow her out and then skara after me. Willow had to lock the door so she came out last. We headed for Boscha's car and I got flashbacks from me and Luz's night. "I can't", I said stopping. "Ugh why not?", Boscha asked. Should I tell them? Fuck it. "It reminds me of luz", I said looking away. "How the hell does my car remind you of luz", Boscha said crossing her arms. "When we took your car to-", I started. "Woah woah woah, you guys took my car?", Boscha asked a little enraged.
"Luz said that you said it was ok...now I see that was a lie", I said pinching the bridge of my nose. "Well where did you guys go", Willow asked. "I'll tell you guys in the car, let's go", I said. We all got in and Boscha started it up.
She pulled off and I began the story. "Let me get this straight, you went to buy a guitar, get McDonald's, and sped over a train track while the train was coming", Boscha said summarizing my story. "Yeah pretty much", I said. "IN MY CAR?!", Boscha yelled. Willow hit her girlfriend. "You're too loud". Skara and I started laughing.
Boscha mumbled something and turned the radio on. Just then she looks so perfect came on and I screamed. "NO!". Boscha swerved. "AMITY WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM". I reached up front and turned the radio off. "We can't listen to that", I said sighing. "Luz?", Willow asked.
I nodded yes and covered my face with my hands. "You've got it baddd blight ", Boscha said laughing. "Boscha you shouldn't call her by her last name you know", Willow said. It hit Boscha and she apologized. "It's fine", I started. "Even though Luz was the only one who I minded calling me that, it doesn't matter now".
I turned to look out the window and watched the buildings and eventually trees pass by. I closed my eyes to get some sort of rest. I felt an incline which meant we were driving up the hill to the manor. Great. "We're here ams", skara said tapping my shoulder. I sit up and groaned. I got out the car and shut the door behind me.
Leaning on the window on willows side I told my friends bye. "Thank you guys for being here for me", I said. "We're your friends", Boscha said. "It's what we do", Willow finished. I waved to them and started my walk to the front gate. I entered the code and the gates opened. I walked to the front door and started to dig in my pocket for my keys. Shit. I forgot them of course.
I knocked on the door and hoped someone would get up to get it. Just then the twins opened the door. They rubbed their eyes and saw me standing there. "Amity? What are you doing here?", Emira asked. "Are you ok?", asked Edric. That's when all my feelings came crashing down. Right then and there, I started to cry. They pulled me into a hug and I sobbed into their arms.
They told me that we should go upstairs to not wake up our parents. We walked to my room which I haven't seen in awhile. I sat on my bed and Emira sat next to me. Edric closed the door and leaned against it. "So why are you here when you're supposed to be in your dorm asleep?", my sister asked. "You're gonna think it's stupid", I said wiping the tears from my eyes. "No way sis, you can tell us, we'll listen", Ed said. I sighed. "You know Luz right?", I asked.
"Yeah the cutie on the hockey team, number 11", em said. "Yeah she's really good", Ed added. "What about her?". "Well me and her became friends and got close and I guess I developed feelings for her", I started. "Ooo mittens has a crush", Ed said. "Ed not now", Emira said. "Ok so then what?".
"I told her to meet the rest of us at Vitos's to have pizza and she said she would come and I thought it would be fine. But when she showed she started acting weird and was getting like irritated with us asking her questions. Her knuckles were cut up and had dried blood on them and she was like avoiding conversation. Then she announced that she was dating Jessica Clayton".
"Ew I hate that bitch", Emira said. "Language", Ed said. "Oh shut up Ed", em replied. "The thing is, she told me that they dated before but Jessica didn't treat her right so Im really confused about why they're back together". "And you're hurt because you like her?", Emira asked. I nodded at her. "Did you try talking to Luz?", Edric asked. "I- well no", I replied. "I can't talk to her now".
"Well now I think you should go to bed. You're home so you basically get an early break, so you should use it to just have some you time and not worry about school or girl drama", Emira said. "I agree with that", ed said. "Thanks guys, I guess you two don't suck that bad", I said to them. They acted like they were hurt and offended and I laughed. They told me goodnight and left my room. I climbed under my cover and sighed. Maybe they're right. I just need some me time.
