"Ready?" Drew's voice rang through his apartment, startling the girl who seemed to be wrapped up in her own thoughts.
Drew, who saw the girl jump slightly, raised an eyebrow in amusement— a hint of a smile playing on his lips. She looked up at him and away from her phone, where she was typing away in a group chat with her two best friends. Sage nodded, sending him a half smile as she stood up, her camera bag hanging over her shoulder.
"Yeah, sorry. I didn't expect you to be done, already." She apologized coolly, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. A chuckle fell from the boy's lips, making the corners of her mouth tilt up slightly.
"I'm sorry for scaring you," he began, starting towards the door, peering behind him just to make sure she was following. "I only had to change."
Drew opened the door, beckoning for her to walk out first— and she did, thanking him quickly. The pair made their way to the elevator and to the first floor quite quickly, considering the emptiness of the complex. Once they arrived at the front of the building, Sage looked around at all of their surroundings, looking for a good background for some of the photos.
The six-foot-three man watched her with a fond smile, adoring the way she slightly squinted her eyes due to the sun's harsh glare. She lifted her hand, trying to block the rays from her vision, so she could see better. The girl spotted a bush, bright pinkish-red buds adorning it. She turned to the man, sending him a large grin, before heading in the direction of the first spot. Drew followed behind her, almost immediately. As they reached the spot, the girl grabbed her bag off of her shoulder and unzipped it, retrieving her camera.
She had already prepared it, grabbing a fresh SD card, and putting in a new battery— along with a back up that she shoved in one of the zip-up pockets.
"Okay, how do you want me to pose?" He asked, already stepping in front of the blooming bush.
"Do whatever feels natural, I can tweak you along the way." She told him, putting her camera up to her face, so she could look through the lens. The first few shots were merely practice, so she could play with the settings on the camera. With each click, the man would slightly shift into different poses.
Sage let out a laugh, happiness radiating from the octave as she lowered her camera, studying his pose. "Can you turn your head to your right, only a little?" She asked, lifting her camera back up.
When he moved his head too far, she dropped the camera again, letting it hand around her neck. She stepped forward, raising her hand up to his face, before pausing—
"May I?" She asked quietly, looking up at him. Drew nodded, slightly shrugging his shoulders, his normal smile written across his features.
Sage lifted her hand, once again, and places it on his jaw, turning his head exactly the way she tried describing— instructing him not to move. He couldn't help the smile that widened at her touch, and at the proximity between them. Drew turned his head a little, so he could look at her. When he did, though, the shutter of the camera could be heard.
"Drew!" She scolded, trying not to smile at his antics. "Don't move." She finished, a giggle sounding at the end of the sentence. He grinned apologetically, moving his head back in the position she had him before— the best he could.
"There." She whispered, taking another one. When she saw the smile that wouldn't seem to disappear, she hummed. "Straight face, please." And he listened, letting his features relax, so she could get the shots she needed.
"Perfect." She exclaimed, instructing him to look ahead once again, so she could get some more.
He looked at her once again, the small smile soon returning, as soon as he caught hers. It truly was contagious. He dug into his pocket, pulling out his phone to snap a photo of her, as she took one of him. He let out a laugh when she let the camera drop, confusion covering her face.
"Sorry, sorry. Couldn't help it." He grinned sheepishly, sliding his phone back into the safety of his pocket. "Do you want to walk to the beach?"
She recoiled, letting the camera hang once again. Sage hadn't been expecting that, but she loved the beach, so how could she say no?
"Absolutely." She grinned, deciding to keep her camera out, just in case she wanted to take some photos on the way.

REAL LIFE.
When the pair arrived that the beach, Drew spotted an empty spot on the sand, and he led them straight to it.
"M'lady." He grinned, motioning for her to take a seat on the sand. Sage raised an eyebrow, a quiet chortle falling from her lips before she took a seat, Drew soon following. They faced the beach, sitting side by side as the salty air filled their senses.
"I don't know much about you, Miss Anderson." Drew spoke, looking over at the girl that was just to his right. He took in her features for a moment, noticing the way small freckles littered the bridge of her nose and high cheekbones. Her lips came to a slight pout, and were the shade of a dusty rose.
Sage turned to look at him, noticing the way he was intently looking at her— reading her. She didn't mention it, though. "What would you like to know, Mister Starkey?" She asked.
He thought for a moment, their gazes locked on each other. To someone else, it seemed as if they were staring into each other's souls, trying to learn every little thing about each other- inside and out.
"Anything you want to tell me," he spoke softly, his words trailing off into the sound of crashing waves. She smiled slightly, bringing her knees up to her chest, resting her elbows on them as he asked. "How did you get into photography?"
The memory was one of the many fond ones she had of her father, the man who impacted her life more than anyone else, besides her mother.
"When I was little, my father had an old Polaroid camera he kept in his office." She chuckled, replaying the memory she had in her mind.
She continued after a short pause, Drew not uttering a word as he listened. "I was messing around with some of his stuff as he worked, and somehow, I got it off of his shelf. When he noticed I had it, I think he could tell how intrigued I was. He took it from me, and at first, I thought he was angry at me, but then he gave it back. He added some film in it, telling me to take photos of the things that called to me. Told me to find beauty in the most unexpected things." She laughed, the words sounding silly as they fell from her tongue. She shrugged her shoulders, looking over at him.
When she noticed how Drew seemed to be grasping every word she spoke, she continued, a smile perched upon her lips.
"He died when I was seven, but I never stopped taking photos of the things that called to me." She finished, setting her chin on her hand, resting against her knees. For a moment, there was a peaceful silence between them— the only sound being caused by the ocean waves and seagulls in the distance.
"He sounded like such a lovely guy, S." Drew finally drawled, nudging her side gently, so she would peer over at him again. "I see where you get it from."
She couldn't help but laugh softly, a fond smile spreading on her face as she looked at the man beside her.
"He was the best, I miss him everyday."
The pair sat on the beach as the sun began setting. They continued talking, the fondness for each other could be felt by anyone who walked by. Drew told her about his family— his sisters, his love for the his fellow cast mates. She listened to every word. Sage told Drew about her mother and her little sister, how they inspired her to follow her dreams and move to New York— and how she had to return after her mother fell ill. He felt bad that her dreams were put on halt, but she quickly explained how she had new dreams, all residing in Charleston, South Carolina.
