background (childhood) : he was born in the human world, in the country of russia. his parents were poor and his young life was filled with no food to eat, no bed to sleep in, no warm clothes to wear. it eventually got so bad that his parents left him on the street in an effort that he would find a better place. this happened when he was only six years old. he was found by an elven woman and brought to an elven orphanage in a secluded kingdom way up north, still in russia. he didn't stay there long though, and was transferred to a larger, warmer kingdom. this was where he made a few friends, he was young and scared, but his tough life had hardened him quite a bit. he would often get in fights over food, blankets, the bathroom, pretty much anything and everything, he was very territorial and possessive.
childhood (teenage) : //TW, mentions of sexual assault and rape// when he was thirteen, things took a turn for the worse. a man who worked at the orphanage was known for sexually assaulting the young boys and girls, all too scared to tell anyone about it. the man's wrath fell upon vesryn and he was slowly groomed until it all exploded into touching and sexual acts such as blowjobs and handjobs. it didn't take long before vesryn tried to get out of it, he threatened to tell everyone, to get him fired, he even told him he was going to bite his dick off, but nothing worked and he was scared right back into submission. it came to an abrupt yet unpleasant and traumatizing end when vesryn was out late alone and was cornered by the man, then raped and left, crying and terrified. he made his way back to the orphanage and slipped inside, not telling a soul. the man quit and hasn't been seen again, by the kids. vesryn still hasn't told anyone. afterwards, people could tell something was off, but vesryn shook off their concern. from then on, he found it, and still finds it, hard to befriend and trust older men, they scare him. the last of his teenage years were pretty much normal, well, normal for anyone who grew up in an orphanage. he took up pickpocketing and caught on quickly, he seemed to have a knack for it. he was able to steal coins, jewelry, watches, he then took to stealing from vendors. he almost always came home with trinkets, money, and treats for his friends and younger siblings.
background (adult) : when he turned eighteen, he and his two friends, eliyen lyric (she's two years older than him) and elre danan (he's barely half a year older than vesryn) reunited and stayed together in eliyen's makeshift home she had put together. it was above an abandoned shop. it was rather spacious, just one large room, and they had set up beds and other things. eliyen loves the ability she has of growing plants, so the place is full of green things hanging and sitting everywhere. vesryn has made stealing his whole life now, that's how they get food to eat and money to live off of. elre and eliyen are also good stealers, and they often work together to create more elaborate schemes.
