Thus far, my day is going well. Nakalimutan ko na yung nangyari kaninang umaga. I am alert now and enjoying this idea of protecting the governor's missus. Ngayon lang ako naging enthusiastic uli sa aking ginagawa. I missed it.
Tama si Ponggay, I'm just overreacting earlier. I accepted this job kaya dapat lang na panindigan ko. I think kailangan talaga ng Villarama family ng extra protection against the people who wants to harm them.
Tahimik kami pareho ni boss Jema sa biyahe, yan na lang daw ang itawag ko sa kanya. At nandito na kami ngayon sa MOA. She owns a unit here, a dress boutique that caters for all occasions like weddings, romantic dates, parties or virtual meetings.
She stayed here most of the day kaya hindi ako masyadong nahirapan i-secure yung area. She was expecting a friend pala, named Jia. Nakita ko ito pagpasok niya sa shop. Mukha namang mabait at harmless ang kaibigan niya.
I think her friend is getting married soon, as I've heard from their conversation.
Tsismosa ka na yata B.
Not really.
As a bodyguard, I need to know the stuff that my boss are dealing with. Including the person she is talking to.
Umalis lang kami when they decided to have lunch. Sinamahan ko sila pumunta ng restaurant. They insisted on taking me with them inside the restaurant but I declined.
My job is to guard Mrs. Villarama only. It is not included in my work to have lunch with them or to anyone.
Nag look out ako sa paligid while they're enjoying their food. I kept my eyes open and took notes of everything that I notice.
So far, so good. No unnecessary movement from the crowd or the people surrounding boss Jema.
Hindi ko sila hinihiwalayan ng tingin kahit nasa labas ako. Ang ipinagtataka ko, panay ang tingin ng friend niya sa akin.
Does she recognizes me?
I didn't take my sunglasses off tuloy, mahirap na. I have to do it para hindi niya ako makilala. When they finished, boss Jema signaled me to go inside. May take out food pala sila. Bitbit ko ito pabalik ng shop.
"Where do you want this boss Jema?" I asked.
Nagtinginan na naman ang dalawa. Naku, nakalimutan ko na nag-e-English na naman ako. I need to speak pure Tagalog para hindi ako masyadong napapansin.
"Saan ko po ito ilalagay?" tanong ko uli.
"Para sayo yan, hindi ka pa kumakain kasi. Doon sa likod may space for you to eat." sagot ni boss.
Wahhh nahiya naman ako.
"Thank you po, nag abala pa kayo." sabi ko.
"Sosyal ang pa lunch ni Madam Gob ah. Gusto mo samahan kita?" sabi nung friend niya.
Tinaasan naman siya ng kilay ni boss Jema.
"Joke lang sis." the friend whispered to her.
Sorry naman, nagiging tsismosa na ako dito. Hindi ko tuloy alam ang gagawin. Should I go or wait for my boss?
Napansin yata ng friend niya ang hesitation ko.
"O you go ahead na. Namumutla ka na yata sa gutom." sabi niya sa akin.
"Thanks po Ma'am." I replied.
"Just call me Jia. In case my friend here decides to let you go, I can always use a bodyguard." she said as she winks at me.
Huh? Napayuko ako ng wala sa oras.
"Thank you po." I replied.
"She is getting married soon so she doesn't need a bodyguard." boss Jema interrupted us.
"I am but in case lang naman." sagot ni Ma'am Jia.
Bago pa ako makasagot ay hinila na ni boss Jema ang kaibigan niya at pumasok na uli sila sa fitting room.
She gave me a look, like a warning, before closing the door. What did I do wrong?

At natapos ang isang araw ko sa trabaho. Medyo late na ako nakaalis sa mansion ng mga Villarama. Buti na lang at hindi masyadong traffic kaya nakauwi ako agad.
After parking my motorbike, napansin ko na madilim ang buong bahay. Only the lights outside are on. Ang aga yata matulog nila Mom and Dad?
Then I remember, it's my birthday.
Of course they have something instore for me. Nadulas na nga si Ponggay kanina hahaha.
I braced myself as I open the main door.
"Surprise!!!!!!" dinig kong sabi nila.
As expected. There's a big banner on the wall with balloons hanging around it.
I listened to them as they sing happy birthday. My parents and my friends are all here to greet me. Wow, napangiti ako. Sobrang touched naman ako sa gestures nila.
"Thank you guys. I'm so shocked talaga, grabe. Didn't expect this huhu." I said pagkatapos nila akong i-kiss at yakapin.
"Tssseee. Wala na ngang element of sunrise because of Ponggay." inis na sabi ni Kat sabay batok kay bro.
"Ouch. Bakit nananakit? It's not my fault noh and sure ako na may idea na si Bea sa surprise natin. Inunahan ko lang ng slight." Ponggay reasoned out.
"Hahaha. Hahaha. You deserves it!" Dani said.
"Yup, let's make more batok." singit ni Kim.
Tumakbo naman si Ponggay at nagtago sa likod ko. I put my arms behind me at sa sobrang bilis ko ay hindi siya nakaiwas sa headlock ko.
"O awat na. Ako na babatok sa kanya." sabi ko.
"Let me go bro or magsosolian na tayo ng kandila." Ponggay said.
"Bea, let's have dinner na. Nagugutom na kami. Come here na." sigaw ni Mom from the dining room.
"Saved by the bell ah. Tara na." sabi ko sa kanila sabay release kay Ponggay.
"How's your day at work?" Dad asked while we are having our dinner.
"Okay naman Dad. Sinamahan ko lang si Madam Gob sa mall buong araw." I replied.
"Madam Gob? I thought you work for the governor." Mom asked.
Napatingin ako kay Ponggay. She was forced to explain.
"Bea was pulled out from the governor's team temporarily. Nagpapagaling pa kasi si Gob Anton." she replied.
"Really? So totoo pala yung balita. How bad was it iha?" Dad asked Ponggay.
"Dad, we are not allowed to discuss my job." singit ko.
"Oppps. Baka makalusot lang naman Isabel." Dad said while raising his hands.
"Isabel? Oh my gosh. Hahaha." sabi ni Kat.
They all teased me because of it. I rolled my eyes while they're at it.
"Do you always call her Isabel?" Kat asked my parents.
"Don't you dare Katrina!!!" I warned.
My parents left us after our dinner. Alam nila na may continuation ang bonding session naming magkakaibigan.
They've given me their present this morning before I left to work.
Nagpa serve na ako ng wine and cocktails para sa kanila as we settle in the lounge. Ponggay as always, is forcing me to drink.
"No, thanks." sabi ko sa kanya.
"Stop being a pussy." she said.
"It's my birthday pero hindi ako iinom. Ako na lang ang taga tagay ninyo." I replied.
"Ang KJ naman. Birthday tapos ayaw uminom." sabi ni Dani.
Blah blah blah. I ignored them na lang. They just stopped badgering me when they're eating the pulutan.
"What's your wish on your 25th birthday Beatriz? Naka quarter ka na pala out of a century." Kat asked.
"Good health and happiness." I replied.
"Ano ba yan? Idagdag mo na kaya ang world peace. Miss U ang peg ah." kulit ni Dani.
"Ikaw ba ang may birthday ha?" tanong ko sabay bato ng chips sa kanya.
Gumanti naman siya kaya nadamay na sila Kim at Ponggay sa batuhan.
"Hey, enough baka pauwiin tayo nila Tita pag nagkalat tayo dito." Kat said.
"Naku ayan na si Manang Katrina. Makinig kayo sa kanya." Ponggay whispered.
"Hoy, I heard that Ponggay." sabi ni Kat.
"Seriously, bukod dyan. Anong plano mo? Are you going to see her?" Ponggay asked.
Natigil ang lahat as they looked at me.
Her.
Ponggay is talking about my ex.
"Woo, bro. Why is she, all of a sudden, is included in the convo?" I asked as I stood up.
Natahimik ang lahat. Maririnig mo ang mga kuliglig sa labas ng bahay sa sobrang tahimik.
"I'm sorry Bea. I don't want to ruin your special day but........." Ponggay replied.
"But what?!!" I yelled.
"Jho is back too and she wants to see you." she answered.
I clinched my fist.
