-(Y/N)'s P.O.V and the Next day-
It was now morning as I got up, yawned, and smacking my lips. You sat up in the bed and stretched your body.
(Y/N): Man, another day...
You said as you looked to your left to see Jack still sleeping on your bed.
(Y/N): Cute.
You said with a smile as you stroke her head and you can see Jack smiling in her sleep.
(Y/N): Hey kid. Wake up now, it's morning.
Jack: Mmn~
Jack moaned for a moment before waking up and looks at you with sleepy eyes.
Jack: Morning, mom.
(Y/N): Morning, sweetpea. Come on, let's get freshen up and eat breakfast.
Jack: Okay...
-Small Time Skip-
After taking a good shower, wear our clothes, and eat breakfast. So right now, Jack and I were heading to the Guild and entered. We then noticed Aqua and Kazuma sitting on the benches on my right and they noticed me entering.

Kazuma: Morning, (Y/N). Whoa, that's a cool outfit. I thought in the medieval ages can't make something like that.

Aqua: Oh, we were waiting for a new member to show up. Wanna join?
I thought about it for a moment before speaking up.

Kazuma Now that you mention it, you should do it.
Kazuma says out loud and everyone began to had eyes on me. I had a smirk on my face before I spoke up.
(Y/N): Alright then, you guys asked for it.
I then began to play the guitar.

After that, I hear more clapping and people muttering about me as I did the final strum.

You then hear Kazuma quietly sobbing until Jack spoke up.
Jack: Are you crying, mister?
Kazuma: Yeah...it's just that cowboy who was dying out of tuberculosis...who is like a family...
(Y/N): Ah, Arthur Morgan. Did you get a good honor or bad honor ending?
Kazuma: I got the good honor ending and I literally cried.
Aqua: It's just a video character, but I'm sure he's like a real family to you, Kazuma.
Kazuma: Sure like it.
Eventually, Jack and I joined Kazuma is by waiting on the bench.
-Three Hours Later-
It's been three hours as Jack and I have been sleeping this whole time. Just then, I felt someone gently shaking my body. I groggily woke up and yawned, I woke up Jack as she eventually woke up. We then turned to Kazuma and Aqua with sleepy faces.
Aqua: Morning, sleeping beauty.
Jack: Did a new member popped up?
Kazuma: Sorry, but there isn't a single one.
I then rubbed my eyes before speaking up.
(Y/N): Great, waiting here is just a waste of time.
We then hear Aqua crying her eyes out.
Aqua: But..But...!
(Y/N): Calm down, Aqua. We just need to have patience.
We then went back to the table and began chatting until we hear a female voice.
???: I happen to notice your recruitment poster.
This caught all of us off guard. We looked for the source of the voice and saw a young girl with long dark brown hair and crimson-red eyes. She was wearing classical witch attire such as a black coat with gold border, choker, a wizard's hat, fingerless gloves, and carries a wooden staff, also wearing an eye patch.
(A/N: In this Remake book, Megumin will have longer hair instead of short hair. Not gonna lie, long-haired Megumin is beautiful.)
Megumin: Hehe! That we would meet is a fate chosen by the world itself. I have anxiously awaited the arrival of those such as yourselves. My name is Megumin! My calling is that of an Arch Wizard, one who controls explosion magic, the strongest of all offensive magic!
The girl named Megumin introduced herself with a pose.
(Y/N): (This girl seems to be only a year below me.) Hey, nice pose.
Megumin: O-Oh uh thanks...! Ahem! Do you, too, desire my forbidden strength, which is so almighty, I've been ostracized by the entire world?
Kazuma: Huh?
Megumin: Then show me thine resolve to peer into the ultimate abyss with me! When a man stares into the abyss, the abyss stares back.
Kazuma: Are you here to poke fun at us?
Megumin: N-No!
I chuckled as I stood up and faced her. I did a pose and introduce myself to her.
(Y/N): I am (Y/N) (L/N) the Bard! The greatest Bard of all time as I entertain others for fun and profit!
I said in my enthusiastic tone and a smirk on my face. Megumin was looking at me curiously with her crimson red-eye because she was wearing an eye patch and I could only see her one eye as she smiled at me.
Megumin: I see that you know how to introduce yourself correctly! No one has been able to properly return a greeting from me before!
I stopped posing and let out a light-hearted chuckle before speaking up.
(Y/N): I'll take that as a compliment then.
Aqua: That red-eye...are you a crimson demon?
Jack: Crimson...demon?
Megumin: Indeed! I am Megumin, the user of the finest magic that the Crimson Demons possess! My lethal magic destroy mountains, smashes bould-
Megumin suddenly began to falls from exhaustion. I grabbed her within my eyes before she hit the ground.
(Y/N): Whoa, you okay?
Megumin looked up at me and I can notice that she was blushing heavily and her face was red like a tomato, and I blushed back as well out of surprise since our faces were a little close.
Megumin: Y-Yes, I haven't eaten in three days...Do you have anything to eat?
(Y/N): Sure, we could order one. Can't leave a girl like you without food.
You said with a warm smile on your face.
Megumin: *Smiles and Blushes* Thanks, (Y/N).
You nodded as you helped Megumin stand up on her ground.
Kazuma: If you need recovery, Aqua here can help. What is the deal with the eye patch?
Megumin: Heh! This is the magic item that suppresses my might magical powers. If I ever take this off, a great catastrophe would surely befall this world!
Jack: That sounds like a lie to us.
Megumin: W-What!? No, I'm not!
(Y/N): Yeah, I kinda agree with Jack. It's written all over your face.
Megumin sighs in defeat.
Megumin: Fine, you got me.
Just then, we hear Aqua spoke up.
Aqua: You know, Crimson Demons are born with high intelligence and magical power. Generally, they are all experts in magic and have all weird names.
Jack: Wait, really?
Aqua: *Nods* Yup.
Kazuma: And also gave us a weird name.
Megumin: Hey! Calling my name weird is rude! From my point of view, it's everyone else in town who has a weird name.
(Y/N): Hold the phone, what are your parents' names are?
Megumin did her pose again.
Megumin: My mother's name is Yuiyui and my father's name is Hyoizaburo!
Kazuma, Aqua, and Jack were looking at her with deadpanned faces while I had a raised eyebrow.
Aqua/Kazuma: Okay.

Kazuma: So, this girl's clan has a lot of magicians, right?
Megumin: Hey! If you've got something to say about my parent's names, let's hear it!
(Y/N): Whoa, easy now girl. No one is having a problem with your family and clan. Anyways, did you order something to eat? I'll pay you if you want something to eat.
Megumin: Thank you again, (Y/N).
Jack: Here you go, miss.
Jack hands Megumin the menu until she spoke up.
Megumin: Say, who are you kid?
Jack: It's Jack. Jack the Ripper.
Megumin: Jack the Ripper huh? Can you show me your card?
Jack looks over to me for permission as I nodded in agreement. Jack pulls out her own adventurer's card and reads it.
Megumin: An assassin...It's not too bad for someone like you who's young, but are you sure that you've seen a lot of...bad things?
Jack: We've seen a lot, plus we're good at fighting.
Jack replies casually with a smile on her face as Megumin had a sweatdrop.
-Time Skip-
We were examining Megumin's card while she was eating her meal after she ordered something to eat.
Aqua: Adventurer's Cards can't be forged. She is also an Arch Wizard for sure. Also, if she could use Explosion Magic, then that's amazing! It's the most advanced attack there is!
Aqua says as I had an interesting look on my face.
Megumin: Hey, don' call me "that girl" and "she" I'd prefer if you call me by my name, just like (Y/N).
-Time Skip-
Quest: Defeat 5 "Giant Toads" in 3 days.

Megumin: Explosion magic is the strongest magic, but that means it takes time to prepare. Please keep that toad at bay until my preparations are complete.
Kazuma: Right! I'll do it.
(Y/N): Alright then.
Jack: Mother! There is another one over there!
We turned to see another giant hopping over to us.
Kazuma: Two at once?
(Y/N): Great. This just keeps getting better and better.
Kazuma: You know, I didn't notice all the colors they come in.
(Y/N): I can see that.
Aqua: GUYS!
Kazuma and I came back to reality after Aqua regained our composure.
Kazuma: Target the one in the distance!
(Y/N): Jack, stay here with me and Megumin!
Jack: Okay, mom~!
Megumin: Wait, mom...?
(Y/N): I can explain later!
Kazuma: As for the closer one...Hey, let's go Aqua! You are a former something-or-other, right? Show off some of your former abilities.
Aqua: What do you mean by "former?"! I am a Goddess! Present tense!
Megumin: Goddess?
Megumin asked in confusion.
Kazuma: Oh, she likes to call herself that. It's rather sad. I tried to get her to stop, but it is proven less than successful.
Megumin: How sad...
(Y/N): Oof.
Aqua: W-What?! (Y/N)! Say something! Tell them that I am a Goddess!
She was looking at me with hope in her eyes.
(Y/N): I wish I could back you up, but nobody would believe you, to be honest.
Aqua: What?! I'll deal with you later! These frogs may be strong against physical attacks, but this time for sure...
She then runs off and charges at the frog.
Aqua: Watch this you three! I'll show you the power of a Goddess today for sure! Tremble before me and fall asleep! God Requiem! "God Requiem" is a Goddess's requiem of love and sorrow! Anything that will strike will perish!
Aqua hits the toad with her Godly Punch, but it didn't work.
Aqua: N-Now that I have a good look at you. I think frogs are pretty cute.
The toad bit down on Aqua and lifted her into the air, trying to swallow her.
Kazuma, Jack, and I saw the whole thing with disappointment.
(Y/N): Are you serious?
Jack: So much for a divine trait of a Goddess...
Kazuma: That's a Goddess for you. She put her life on the line to buy us some time.
Jack: Mom, can't we just-
Just then, we felt pressure and turned to see Megumin casting her explosion spell.
Megumin: Darkness blacker than black and darker than dark, I beseech thee, combine with my deep crimson. The time of awakening cometh. Justice, fallen upon the infallible boundary, appears now as an intangible distortion! Dance, Dance, Dance! I desire for my torrent of power a destructive force: a destructive force without equal! Return all creation to cinders, and come from the abyss! This is the mightiest means of attack known to man, the ultimate attack magic! EXPLOSION!!!
Kazuma, Jack, and I had to protect ourselves from the dirt that was kicked from the explosion. When it was done, all there was left was the crater from where the toad was.
Kazuma: Wow...so this is magic. That explosion was amazing!
(Y/N): Ohohohoho! What lovely fireworks~!
Jack: Whoa...is this her Noble Phantasm?
Then, there was a rumbling sound and then another giant toad came out from out of the ground.
Kazuma: Did the explosion wake them up?
(Y/N): Doesn't matter. Megumin! Let's retreat for now and-
Megumin was sliding face-first down the hill.
Kazuma: Eh?
(Y/N): Wait, what just happened?
Megumin: While my mystic art, explosion magic, possesses tremendous might, it also consumes tremendous magical power. In, short, I used magic exceeding my limits, so now I can't move a muscle.
Kazuma: What?
Jack: So she's paralyzed after that Noble Phantasm...
(Y/N): Oh you have got to be kidding me...
I groaned in annoyance.
Megumin: I never expected a frog to pop up so close by. This is bad. I'm going to be eaten. Sorry, could you help me-
Just then, the toad starts eating Megumin.
Kazuma: You guys! Don't get eaten!
(Y/N): For the love of gods...Kazuma, Jack, you two get Aqua, I'll get Megumin.
Kazuma: Right!
Jack: Understood!
Kazuma and Jack were running to the toad who was eating Aqua and I was helping Megumin.
(Y/N): Hey dummy! Drop her down! Or else I'll shoot you!
I said as I changed the guitar into gun mode and aimed at the Toad who was still eating Megumin.
(Y/N): Fine.
I then began to pull the trigger a few times, aiming for the toad's body. I shot the toad about six times before the toad falls to the ground dead and letting Megumin out of its mouth.
I sighed as I pressed the button and my shotgun went back into Guitar mode. I walked to Megumin, who still had her eyes closed and slime on her body.
(Y/N): Hey, wake up now.
I said as Megumin slowly opened her eyes and was looking up to see that I was looking down on her.
(Y/N): Wake up, Samurai. Everything's over.
Megumin: What...What happened?
(Y/N): You know what happened, I got you out of here just in time before you get swallowed whole.
I gave her a goofy grin down at her and Megumin blushed and smiled at the same time.
Jack: Mom~! We're done~!
I can hear Jack calling out to me as I looked up to see the dead toad, and a slimy Aqua and Jack.
(Y/N): Oh my...
Jack: Did I do good, mom?
You smiled and patted her head as I avoid the saliva of the toad from Jack's body.
(Y/N): Yeah, you did good, sweetpea.
Megumin: Hey (Y/N), can I ask why Jack is calling you "Mom"?
(Y/N): Oh uh...this might be a bit hard to explain...
Quest Completed! Defeated 5 "Giant Toads!"
-No one's P.O.V-
Kazuma, (Y/N), Jack, Megumin, and Aqua were now walking in town with Aqua crying and Megumin on your back while explaining to Megumin why Jack calls you "mom". You guys were now covered in slime except for Kazuma. You felt the slime on your arms and had a disgusted look on your face.
(Y/N): ...And that's how I summoned her.
Megumin: So you're telling me that you summoned Jack the Ripper from a ritual?
(Y/N): Yup. She calls me "mom" aka Master, while Jack is my "daughter" aka my Servant.
Megumin: You're quite strange, (Y/N).
(Y/N): Haha...
You laughed sarcastically until Aqua spoke up.
Aqua: I stink...I stink...
Jack: Yeah, we need to get a bath...
Megumin: The inside of a toad stinks, but it feels nice and warm.
Kazuma: That's the information I didn't need to know.
(Y/N): Yep, same here.
Jack: Yeah, us too.
Kazuma: You are banned from using explosion magic, except in emergencies. Just do your best with other magic from now on.
Megumin: I can't.
You stopped and looked at her in confusion.
Kazuma: Huh?
(Y/N): Why not?
Megumin: I can only use explosion magic. I can't use any type of magic.
Kazuma: For real?
Megumin: For real.
It was silent for a moment, but hearing the random person saying something.
Aqua: Huh? If your level is high enough to use explosion magic, shouldn't you be able to use other magic too? Even I didn't learn all the Arch Priest spells until after I learned party trick skills.
Jack: Do you entertain people as well?
Megumin: I am Arch Wizard who loves explosion magic above all else. I don't like any other magic in the detonation family. I only like explosion magic!
She then wrapped her arms around you while carrying her on your back.
Megumin: I could, of course, easily go on adventures if I learned other magic, but that just won't do. I only love explosion magic! Even if only one use per day is my limit, or I will collapse after using my magic, explosion magic is still the only magic I'll ever love! After all, I chose the path of an Arch Wizard solely so I could use magic!
Aqua: Wonderful! Simply wonderful! Ineffective though it is, I'm moved by your romantic pursuit.
Then they gave each other a thumb up.
Kazuma: I see! I'm sure the path ahead of you will, but you do your best! Once we reach the guild, we will split the reward evenly, then when we get the chance, let's meet up somewhere-
Megumin cuts off Kazuma and spoke.
Megumin: My only desire is to use my explosion magic. I'd be fine with getting unpaid if need be. Yes, the power of an Arch Wizard can be yours for the low cost of food and sundries! What choice do you have, but to make a long-term contract with me?
Kazuma: No, no, no, no!
Kazuma then grabs Megumin's legs and tried to rip her off your back, but she clings onto your neck on hold, causing to get choked on.
Kazuma: Such might power would be wasted on a puny party of novice adventurers like us.
Megumin: No, no, no! It's fine, even if you are puny or novices! I have an advanced job, but I'm only level six. Hey, I wish you wouldn't try to tear me away!
Kazuma: No, no, no! *Pulls harder* What kind of magician can only use a spell once a day?!
(Y/N): Guys! Let go of me, goddammit!
You said while trying to pull yourself back.
Kazuma: You got dumped by another party, didn't you? If we go into a dungeon, there won't be enough room to use explosion magic! You get more useless by the second!
Kazuma pulls harder again and that causes some slime to be thrown everyone where.
Aqua: Hey, stop! You're getting it on my face!
(Y/N): And getting it on my clothes! Besides, I'm gonna die...!
Megumin: Other parties won't take me anymore! I'll carry your bags, or whatever else you need! I'm begging you! Please don't abandon me!
That screamed moved your heart. You felt very bad for her. You were about to speak up, but three women were observing you until one of them spoke up.
Woman 1: How awful. That man's trying to abandon that little girl!
Woman 2: And he has got a girl and that little boy covered in snot beside him. He must be blackmailing the other man.
Woman 1: I bet that the other boy was trying to save those girls but this jerk stopped him in a very perverted way. The other man is a true hero!
Woman 2: Plus, there's even a little girl with snot as well! Is he a pedophile?!
Woman 3: Toying with such a little girl, then discarding her? What a scumbag.
Woman 2: Look! All four of them are slimy! What sort of perverted acts could he have them doing?

The three women turned away trying not to listen, as Kazuma closed Megumin's mouth by using his hand.
Kazuma: I get it! Glad to have you on board!

Luna: I have confirmed that you have completed your quest. Thank you for your hard work.
Luna then handed the Adventurer's Card to you.
Kazuma: I went up four levels at once. You really get stronger by just defeating monsters.
Luna: The newer the adventurer, the faster you'll grow. Now, then adding up the sales of the giant toads and your quest completion reward. Your total comes to 110,000 Eris.
You and Kazuma walked back to the table.
(Y/N): So, 110,000 Eris. Split to four people. Comes to with...I don't know, not good at math.
Kazuma: Well, 27,500 Eris for everyone. We nearly lost our lives for 27,500 Eris. It's not worth it.
(Y/N): Probably. Hey, are you doing alright?

Footsteps begin to approach your table.
???: I happen to see your recruitment poster.
You and Kazuma looked up to see somewhat a lady knight in yellow armor and with blonde hair kept in a ponytail tied with a braid and red hair clips secured on both sides of her bangs.
???: Are you still recruiting party members?
Kazuma: *Blushes* Um...we are! Though I really don't recommend it. (A female knight! She is beautiful! A tall, beautiful young woman! She is giving the appearance of a cool beauty.)
???: I see, thank goodness. I have anxiously awaited the arrival of someone such as yourselves.
Then suddenly, she started to breathe heavily.
Darkness: My...name is Darkness.
She then started to aroused after introducing herself.
Kazuma: *Shocked face*
(Y/N): *Shocked, but confused face.*
Darkness: My calling is that of a Crusader.
She then began to start panting.
