Y/n woke up from her slumber before she would do anything to get ready, she walked around the engawa of her home as she did every morning.
Continuously glancing and peaking at the Giyu residence in hope that Tsusako and Tomioka would be back home.
Tsukako gone missing and Tomioka taken away.
"I'm going to find them" Y/n muttered to herself, determined to find where the two have gone.

"You want this book?" Y/n'a father questioned as he gave her a forced and nervous smile. "Yes father!" Y/n pleaded as she grabbed the book about fairytale demons from his hand.
"If you insist" He said forcefully as he turned to the seller where the two began to discuss prices.
Y/n's attention averted to the houses and shops around amused as the don't come into the village much, the two just living out on the outskirts of the small and wealthy town.
Y/n looked at every person that walked by, hoping she'd recognize Tsutako or Tomioka.
"Are you still trying to find them?" Y/n's dad asked, standing behind her. "I miss them" she says with a frown as the two began to walk, his hand on her shoulder blade, guiding her through the crowd.
"Do you think I'll be able to see Tsutako-san again?" She asked
Her father let out a frown and looked away from her, "I'm not too sure" he said, "Hm, how about Giyu-kun?" She asked.
"Tomioka was taken to a relative of his, a doctor just a few days travel away" her told her. A large smile formed on Y/n's face, "Will I be able to see him?!" She asked excitedly.
"I'm not too sure, I was told he's not going to be allowed guests for sometime people are saying he isn't right in the head but if they took sometime to hear his story and look at all the evidence that he's provided and that was left behind they'd understand his terror" Y/n's dad said his sentence soon turning to an aggravated rant.
"A demon attacking his sister and him? A monster, monsters are real?" Y/n asked as for the first time she felt a pit form in her stomach.
"Tsutako-san, I won't be seeing her again will I?" Y/n said with a frown.
"No, no I'm sure you will, maybe she's somewhere getting help too" he said frantically, hating having to see his daughter frown.
"Would you like some treats?" He asked as he pointed to a sweets stand. "Sure!" She said excitedly, the pit in her stomach still there, hating to see her father worry for her in such a way.
Soon Y/n for the next few weeks Y/n would spend her time trying to learn of demons. Word of Tomioka running away from his relative reaches their village.
"Dads gonna get so mad at me if he found out I went on here, especially alone" Y/n muttered to herself, looking around at the incredibly large trees that surrounded her.
Venturing the forest, hoping she'd find Tomioka. After discovering from a map that the other end of the forest leads to the village Tomioka was in before running away.
She peering out the forest to see that the sun was nearly set, going so late so she could sneak out without her father knowing.
'I should head home soon,' she thought as the forest would soon entirely grow dark.
"Tomioka-kun" she whispered aloud, not wanting to yell as she was too afraid to attract a wild animal or of the rumours were true a demon.
The sound of a twig snapping filled her ears. Fear rose in her, the fear growing more and more as she was awaiting and hoping for a small animal like a bunny to run from the sound.
She let out a gulp as she decided it was time to head home.
As she walked through the forest towards her home she couldn't break the feeling of being followed.
She didn't know if it was the snap of the twig that scared her half to death but she surely felt as if she was being watched.
Stalked.
She continuously shot quick glances behind her and watched her peripherals, the comfort she felt when she would see nothing couldn't match the fear she felt at the thought of if she saw something or someone.
Behind her another twin snapped.
It was that moment without thinking she ran as she saw the end of the forest and the sunlight that is in front of it.
Tears began to form in the corner of her eyes as she ran, hoping she could reach the sunlight that felt like an eternity away.
She crashed onto the ground, feeling the warm sunlight on her skin before she turned her head back and looked into the dark and dimly lit forest.
The sounds of twigs snapping descended.
She pulled herself away from the forest, feeling sure she wasn't alone now.
"Y/n!" F/n's yelled in a panicked tone, "Were you in those trees?!" He yelled. Y/n watched as her father ran to her worriedly.
Upon arriving to her, he saw the fearful expression she wore, "are you okay? Did you see anything?" He asked worriedly as he picked her up.
"You know you are not to go into those forests, do you understand how dangerous that is? You don't know how dangerous that is!" He lectured.
His voice slowly began to echo out of his ears as she stared into the trees over his shoulder. She felt numb as she stared at the dark figure that stood in the trees.
"Dad, who's that man," Y/n spoke out bluntly and monotoned as for the first time she's felt genuine fear, a pit formed in her stomach as she felt the man's ill intent radiating from him.
"What..?" Her father says in a shaken tone as she turned to look back but saw nothing but trees.
"Y/n, let's play a game of hide n seek" F/n says as he walked into the house with Y/n in his arms, closing and locking the door behind him.
"I want you to hide in best and most secure and secretive place in this house, okay? And I want you to hide there all night long" he explained.
"Why all night?" She asked, knowing he was lying to her. She wasn't hiding from him. "Because once nightfalls I'm going to turn into a madman tickle monster!" He exclaimed.
Y/n looked up at her father bluntly, her blunt expression soon turned to a wide and toothy smile. "Okay! That sounds fun!" She exclaimed.
Y/n walked down the hall of her home going to her bedroom where she then grabbed a blanket and pillow before heading back down the hall.
She stopped in front of the kitchenettes entry, she stared at the ordinary hallway wall, she knelt down and dropped her blankets before she pried her fingers under the wall and pulled.
The wall opened, revealing a small crawl space just high enough for her to sit up straight and long enough for her to lay down fully.
She tossed her blanket and pillow in as she was about to crawl in, she stopped and turned her head around at the kitchen.
She went up to the kitchen and grabbed a small knife from the shelf before heading in the crawl space.
She put her fingers under the wall once again and pulled it shut.
She hasn't laid in there long before realizing she fell asleep.

Thump
Y/n sat herself up quickly at the mound bang that awoke her. Scared, she wanted to call out for her father but she couldn't.
"Come out, come out~" a deep and scratchy voice sang as she heard scratching along the wall.
"You never once left the house after entering earlier, so you're still here... When you fell onto the gravel after jumping out of the woods, you scraped your knees, I got a scent of your delicious blood, a marechi~" they voice said.
She listened to him walk and talk, his voice not moving and stayed in front of her on the other side of the wall.
"I can smell you"
"Y/n! Run!!" F/n yelled, his voice being followed by the loud sound of crashing.
Without thinking, Y/n kicked open the crawl space door, grabbing the knife she kept under her pillow and ran.
She looked behind her and saw her dad fighting with the demon as she ran through the house.
His blood painted the floors, she let out a muffled sob as she saw an arm on the floor, his arm.
She continued to cry and cry as she ran.
She ran down the dirt road, towards the small town. She turned her head back and saw dust from the gravel in the air.
Before she could process anything that has happened Y/n crashed to the ground, an immense and heavy pain on her shoulder blades.
Her vision was filled with bright red flames before everything went dark.

• After Y/n awoke she grew very shamed of how she ran, everyday she feels sick in her gut with the thought of not fighting with her father.
• Y/n is a marechi
• Y/n is very intelligent for her age, her father being a doctor and retired teacher, he passed alot of his knowledge to Y/n and the fact that she grew up with a series of books.
