Mei wrapped her arm around Karl and pulled him closer so she could see his messages but Karl quickly hid his phone.
"What?" asked Mei suspiciously
"N-nothing." stammered Karl
"You always hide things from me." spoke Mei as she sighed before letting Karl go.
"I'm sorry."
"I'm just joking Karl! I don't care." laughed Mei as she took a cup out of the cabinet.
"I know It's just... I don't know." sighed Karl
"Is something wrong?" asked Mei as she set the cup down, looking towards Karl with worried eyes.
"I might have to leave early..." Karl spoke quietly
"Oh."
Mei was obviously curious about what had happened but knew It wasn't her place to ask questions. Something horrible must have come up or something important. She tried to push the thought of him leaving because he didn't like her out of her head. She had no reason to think that way but alas here she was thinking she had said or done something to upset her dear friend, Karl.
"That's fine." spoke Mei as she poured orange juice into her cup.
"Sorry."
"Do you want me to drive you to the airport?" asked Mei as Karl shook his head.
"No, no. It's fine."
"When exactly are you leaving?" asked Mei
"Uh... an hour or so." mumbled Karl nervously
"That's so soon."
"I know. I'm sorry, Mei! I'll make it up to you, i'll visit again and-"
"Don't worry about it Karl." reassured Mei as she placed a hand onto his shoulder.
"Alright, I'm going to go pack..." spoke Karl as he rose up and walked into the guest room. Before taking out his phone again

"Do you really have to go?"
"Yes but I'll visit again, I promise." spoke Karl as Mei started to pout. He brought his hand up and ruffled her hair.
"Don't treat me like a kid."
"I had to, you looked so adorable when you pouted." chuckled Karl
"Shut up." spoke Mei, embarrassed.
"You're younger than me as well so theres that too." explained Karl
"Yeah, yeah. I get it."
"Hug?" asked Karl as Mei leaned in for one. They embraced each other as Mei felt tears threatening to spill.
"Goodbye." spoke Mei in a sad tone as they released each other from the hug.
"Don't sound so sad and don't say it like it's the last time we'll ever meet."
"You never know." spoke Mei with a frown on her lips
"I didn't know you were so dramatic." laughed Karl
"I'm sorry."
"Mei, stop frowning! You're making me sad too."
"Okay. I'm joking I'm not sad, bye!" spoke Mei as her frown changed into a wide smile and she slammed the door on his face. She heard Karl laughing from behind the door as she sighed.
She would miss him, even though he had only stayed for a day she knew that she'd miss the company. Mei would never admit it but she was lonely, like really lonely. All her friends were on the internet and she didn't really have anyone to talk to about personal things. Mei watched as a car she assumed was an uber picked him up and drove away.
Tears spilled from her eyes

Mei continued to sulk as she explored her house. She walked into the guest room, sighing at the made bed. It was as If he was never there before her eyes spotted a black suitcase beside the bed.
"Did he forget it again?" sighed Mei as she pulled out her phone to call him but before she could her door bell rang. She rushed towards the door before opening it abruptly.
It was Karl.
"Karl? Oh thank god, you forgot your-" started Mei as her eyes trailed behind Karl. A man with curly black hair and dark brown eyes stood there.
"Who?" blurted out Mei
"Surprise!" yelled Karl as he did jazz hands.
"Huh?"
"Hey Mei." spoke a deep voice
"What the fuck." mumbled Mei as she took a step back, realizing who he was. He wore a mask that covered half of his face.
"How inviting." spoke Corpse sarcasm dripping from his voice.
"Oh, come- come in." stammered Mei
They all sat down in the living room
"What was the point of you saying you were leaving?" asked Mei with a glare
"So, you wouldn't be suspicious."
"Why didn't Corpse just drive here?"
"Because."
"That's what I said" agreed Corpse
"I wanted Corpses address." admitted Karl
"What?"
"What the hell."
"For what, exactly?" asked Mei
"Just in case, you know."
"Karl you're not making any sense."
"I just- I don't know I just thought It'd be a good idea since I'm coming out with merch and If I want to send it to my friends-"
"Stop changing up your story!"
"I didn't know this was an investigation." mumbled Karl
"You're an idiot." chuckled Corpse as Mei glanced up at him. From what she could see... Corpse was attractive, something about him pulled her in.
"Look. I'll be honest, okay?"
"Go on."
"Hope you're being serious this time."
"I just wanted to make it dramatic."
"You're the one who called me dramatic!"
"Because you are, who cries when their friends leave? Only pussies." scoffed Karl
"Shut the fuck up! You know you would too you're probably going to cry like a little baby once you do actually leave." mocked Mei
"No!"
"Boss baby." muttered Corpse as all eyes turned on him. Karl looked at him confused as Mei smiled
"Yeah." agreed Mei
"What the fuck?"
"You wouldn't understand." chuckled Mei
"Now I feel left out." pouted Karl
"Good." spoke Mei
"Wow."
"You're always keeping secrets so you deserve it."
"Everyone has secrets, get over it!"
"Yeah, yeah. Tell that to the judge."
"What judge?"
"Judge Judy dipshit"
"Dipshit?" repeated Karl "And you said I was around Quackity too much."
"It's a good thing for me but bad for you."
"That's not fair."
"Well life isn't fair now is it?"
"Apparently not because I have more primes-"
"Okay, Tommyinnit."
"Don't call me that!"
"I forgot how much you two fight." sighed Corpse
"Because we don't." spoke Karl
"We'd only fight over you." spoke Mei
"Oh really?" smirked Corpse under his mask
"I don't like where this is going."
Karl's phone started to ring as he parted his lips
"I have to take this, wait." spoke Karl as he excused himself.
"Uh..."
Corpse and Mei sat there in silence after their trio was broken. Mei glanced at Corpse, observing him before Corpse did the same. Their eyes meeting for a split second but quickly looking away.
"You come here often?" asked Corpse as Mei let out a genuine chuckle. She hated that line dearly.
"To my house? Yeah, pretty often." played along Mei
"That's nice." hummed Corpse
"How about you?" asked Mei
"Hm?"
"Do you come here often?"
"No... but I'd like to." spoke Corpse as he played with the rings on his fingers. Mei didn't know what to think of his unexpected words. She just expected a negative answer but instead she was given hope.
Corpse and Mei had both said that they liked each other romantically at one point but Mei wasn't too sure If he still had those feelings for her. Afterall he could've very much said those things in the moment and maybe he didn't mean it at all.
She found those old feelings of hers resurfacing just by the sight of him. Mei wasnt shallow she could care less for looks but even just seeing half of his face made her interested. She wanted to see him without the mask, badly.
"Corpse?" spoke Mei
"Hm?"
"Can we meet up without Karl once he leaves." asked Mei
"What, for what?" asked Corpse
"I want to be alone with you."
There her mouth went again, her feelings for Corpse had been obvious at this point. She could never control the things she said around him and would say confusing things that she, herself didn't even understand.
"I meant like meet up more after, sorry I don't know why I said it like that."
"Is something the matter?" asked Corpse but before she could answer Karl walked back into the room.
"Good news and bad news." chuckled Karl nervously
"What now?"
"Do you want the good news first or the bad news?" asked Karl
"Bad news."
"Good news."
Mei glared at Corpse
"Good news."
"Bad news."
"Give us the bad news." concluded Mei as Corpse laughed.
"Bad news is Jimmy wants me for a video... so I actually need to leave soon."
"Are you fucking serious." groaned Mei
"What's the good news?" asked Corpse
"There is none."
"Then why'd you say-"
"To be dramatic."
"Did you join the theatre club, what's wrong with you today.?" asked Mei
"I'm happy." smiled Karl, showing his teeth.
"That makes one of us." joked Corpse
"Actually two!" stated Mei as she raised her hand
