"Ow" I whisper as I force my eyes open, my stomach is killing me.
"Hey, hey your awake" I hear from beside me
"Hi there husband to be" I say with a tired smile
"You know Lil.. we have got to keep your out of here" he says with a laugh
"No see, it's just so great in here that I almost die just to get a bed!" I joke
"You scared the hell out of me you know? Again. But your okay so I won't push, but thank you. For saving me I mean"
"You don't have to thank me Alec, I love you and I would do anything for you"
"I love you too" he says before pressing a soft kiss to my lips

"Hey your up!" Izzy says as I walk out of my room
"Yep. Better than ever"
"We all know that's a lie but good. We're here if you need anything sis" she says, "Why do you always look so hot? Even after you just almost died" Izzy whines, looking me up and down

"Why thank you doll face" I say with a smile before linking our arms together and going to see Alec and Robert
"The wards solid now? Nothing can get through" I hear Robert asking Magnus as he strengthens the wards
"Even my magic has limits. The wards won't hold off the forsaken attack but it will slow them down" the warlock says

"Lucas can take care of that" I say stepping forward
"Ah muffin your up. Glad to see your okay" he smiles
"Yeah it's good to see you up Herondale" Robert says with a smile before walking away and Magnus leaves to go receive his payment.
"Meliorn?" I hear Isabelle say, "what are you doing here?"

"The clave called me in for some kind of conference"
"I'm so happy to see you" she says while pulling him in for a hug
"Spare me. Your fire message clearly stated you never wanted to see me again"

"I'm not here to talk about us. I believe that's your clave envoy" he says before stepping aside, towards Lucas who was making his way over
"Isabelle please step aside. Meliorn, the clave has ordered that you be placed under arrest" Lucas says
"What? What for?" I snap
"Soliciting state secrets from a shadow hunter on behalf of Valentine Morgenstern. Guards" he says while gesturing for them to get Meliorn
"Have you lost your mind?" Izzy snarls
"Me? You're lucky you weren't arrested along with him"
"What are you talking about?" I ask
"It's our understanding that your long standing relationship with the seelie Meliorn may have lead to the disclosure of state secrets" the envoy says, turning to Isabelle
"What? No. Meliorn told me how to get into the hotel dumort so that we could save a mundane"
"And you told him nothing in return? Nobody is blaming you for the attack. Meliorn and the seelies were likely working with Valentine all along"
"Valentine has been killing down worlders and draining their blood for months. He probably killed those seelie scouts and used their bl-" I say.
"Do you have proof?"
"Do you?" Izzy asks him, furiously.

"He calls Meliorn in and arrests him then acts like it's all out of his hands" I hear Izzy moaning to her brother in the training room.
"You're gonna hurt yourself" I say as I see him punching the dummy with his wounded shoulder.
"I'm fine!" He snaps, "it was the clave that gave the order not Lucas"
"Why are you defending him?" I ask
"Hey you alright?" Jace asks Alec running up to us
"I'm fine"
"I just spoke to Robert and Maryse. They're being sent back to Idris"
"What?"
"Another order from Lucas?" Izzy growls at her brother
"Who's Lucas?"
"He's in charge of the institute"
"What!"
"Temporarily" Alec defends him
"And now he's convinced the clave that mom and dad arnt doing their job"
"Maybe they arnt. The institute was under their control when the foresaken got in" Alec says
"What are you talking about?"
"Mom and dad were members of the circle"
"Alec hey! You know they couldn't tell you this and your still questioning their loyalty? They would never work with Valentine while knowing what he's trying to do" I snap
"They lied to us. For years they've been telling us how to act. To uphold the Lightwood name. When they were the ones destroying it" he shouts before walking out.
"What the hell is up with him?" Jace asks
"I don't know but I'm sure as hell going to find out" I say while running over to his room
"Alec hey! What's going on with you?"
"Oh like you don't already know"
"What? Alec what are you talking about-"
"You and Lucas huh? He told me that he mentioned settling down and upholding his family name, and how you mentioned you'd love to help him with that. He told me you were planning on arranging a marriage. Incase you hadn't noticed, that ring on your finger meant you were mine. Not anymore, we're over"
"Alec-"
"Get out" he says before slamming the door in my face.
I run over to my room and punch the door, letting the tears fall. I knew I should have guessed what he was gonna try and do after he said people wanna be in Alecs position but by the angel I didn't think he'd to this.
We're really over.
I lost him.

"Lily?" I hear Izzy shout as she knocks on my door
"Go away Izzy" I cry
"Lily, hey! What's wrong" she says rushing over to my side
"It's Alec. He broke up with me Izzy, we're over" I say crying into her shoulder
"What! What the hell for!"
"Lucas got into his head, said I was planning on arranging a marriage with him. I don't know why he believed him I mean come on, I love Alec with everything I have and it still isn't enough. I should have known that damn Envoy was gonna try something when he said people would love to take Alecs place"
"Oh Lily. Have you told him?"
"Nope, wouldn't let me. He just pushed me out of the room and won't talk to me"
"Hey look at me" she says lifting my chin up, "you know it'll all work out right? Alec loves you more than you'll ever know and he'll let you talk to him eventually and once he does, everything will be okay, you'll go back to how you where I promise you"
"I really hope so iz"
"Come on, you can't stay in here forever. And we need to go watch Meliorn a interrogation"
She says while pulling me to the monitors in the institute, standing by Jace.... and Alec.
"This is insane" Izzy says, "we have to put a stop to this"
"Oh well. Enjoy portalling back to Idris with mom and dad" Alec says
"Meliorn is here because of me"
"Izzy it's not your fault" I try to reassure her
"Alecs right. There's nothing we can do to stop this interrogation now" Jace says
"Your on Alecs side now? I don't see how anyone could be" I snap
"Oh yeah? You do not get to talk to me"
"What the hell is going on with you two?" Jace asks
"Ask Alec over there. He broke up with me for something that isn't true" I say while looking at the floor
"Alec what did you do?" I hear Jace whisper
"Not now"
"You should talk to your own people about playing sides" I hear Meliorn say
"Excuse me?" Lucas asks
"You have no idea what I'm talking about do you? If only shadow hunters had a better relationship with us... down worlders. You'd know that valentines daughter has the cup"
"Still think we should let this play out?" I shout at the boys

"I'm sure that's not the cup your looking for" I hear Alec say as Raj searches my room, specifically my underwear drawer. He searched everyone's rooms after he failed to find the cup in Clary's room.
"I'm just doing my job"
"Yeah? Get out" Alec snaps
"What are you doing? Don't do that. Don't act like we're okay and everything's normal. Don't act like we're still together" I say
"We would be if you hadn't-"
"Alec! He said that so many people would love to be in your position, to marry me. I told him that's it's tough luck for them and that they need to get over it. And I haven't spoken to him since. If you had let me fucking talk then this wouldn't have happened" I shout at him
"Lily I-"
"Don't." I say before walking out, going over to Jace and Izzy
"Send Clary a picture of your blocking rune now. We're going to get Meliorn" I say while walking over to them.
