1st Person POV
'I can't believe the league was spotted in the mall,' I thought to myself as I walked back home. 'What were they even doing there? I doubt they were trying to restock on camping supplies like we were....'
As the thoughts of the league fiasco started to leave my mind, something else began to take over...
"I CANT BELIEVE FIVE OF MY FRIENDS JUST CONFESSED TO ME IN A HAND FULL OF HOURS!!" I exclaimed, crouching down on the sidewalk and covering my now red face. "What am I going to do?! It's not like I can say yes to all of them. Do I want to say yes to all of them? Hell, do I want to say yes to any of them. I mean I like all of them sure, Katsuki, Kirishima, Uraraka, Denki, and Mina are all amazing but do I think of them like that...? Geez, how do you even go about handling something like this..."
2nd Person POV
As you continued to have a small mental breakdown on the side of the road, a certain someone noticed you from across the street. Thinking something might be wrong, he quickly crossed to survey the situation.
"[F/N], are you alright?" Todoroki asked, lightly tapping the top of your head to get your attention.
"Huh? Shouto? What are you doing here?" You asked the boy, when you noticed a bag in his hand. "Taking home groceries?"
"These are for my mom actually," Todoroki responded, lifting up said bag. "She asked me to buy her some stuff so I'm heading back over to the hospital to see her."
"Oh right! You mentioned you were visiting your mom today. How is she?" You said, finally standing up from your little ball on the floor.
"She's very well," Todoroki thought for a moment, before making an offer. "Would you like to come with me to see her?"
"O-oh no I wouldn't want to be a bother to her-" You tried to say but was interrupted by Todoroki's reassuring tone.
"You wouldn't be a bother at all," He started. "My mom actually mentioned before that she'd like to meet some of my school friends eventually. And out of everyone, I think you'd be a great first one."
"Really?" Todoroki gave you a nod and a small smile. "Well then, sure! I'd love to meet your mom Shouto."
"Cool, let's get going then."
...
"Natsuo? Fuyumi? I didn't know you were coming today." Todoroki said as he opened the door to his mother's room, only to be greeted by his older brother and sister.
"We were in the area so we thought we'd stop by!" Fuyumi exclaimed, happy to see her youngest brother. "But who's this you've brought with you Shouto?"
"Hi, I'm [F/N] [L/N], I'm one of Shouto's friends from UA," You said, giving a small bow. "It's a pleasure to meet his family."
"Are you sure she's just a friend Shouto?" The brother, Natsuo, teased, wiggling his brows as he took an apple from the bag Todoroki had brought.
Todoroki gave his elder brother a small glare, while you only gave a nervous chuckle, unsure of what to say to an accusation like that.
"Now now Natsuo leave your brother and his friend alone," Todoroki's mother called to her son from her seat at the window. "It's very nice to meet you [L/N]. I'm glad Shouto has finally brought a friend over. My name is Rei."
"Nice to meet you Rei, and please [F/N] is just fine." You told her as you followed Todoroki to a seat beside the bed.
"So [F/N], were you at the meet up Shouto's and your class had today at the mall?" Fuyumi asked, her and Natsuo coming to sit in front of the two teens.
"Yeah I was," You said, giving a nod. "I was on my way home when I bumped into Shouto actually. I would've been there longer if it wasn't for the little incident there not too long ago."
"Wait what?" Todoroki worriedly asked, turning his head towards you. "What incident?"
"Oh uh, well...."
You told all the Todoroki's about the league of villains infiltrating the mall, resulting in an immediate evacuation. Todoroki started to feel bad that he wasn't there with you all, but you reassured him that everything was fine and no one was hurt, which helped a bit.
After that great starter conversation, the five of you slipped into whatever else popped into your minds. It was mostly Natsuo talking about his funny college stories, but that was alright with you, Natsuo was a fun guy.
And not just Natsuo, Fuyumi was quite the character herself. On the surface she seemed reserved and polite but, while she was, she had her own sense of humor that added to the ever changing topic.
Minutes bled into hours and before anyone knew it, the sun had started to sink into the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and red.
"We better get going," Todoroki said, standing up from his seat. "It's getting late, and I wanna make sure [F/N] gets home okay."
"Oooo- OW FUYUMI-!"
"Quit it Natsuo."
"...Anyway. We'll be heading out now. You ready [F/N]?" Todoroki asked. You gave him a nod and hopped up from your seat.
"Thank you for having me. I really enjoyed the time I spent with you all today." You said, giving the Todoroki's a bow and a wave.
"You're welcome to come back anytime [F/N]." Rei responded, giving you one of her soft smiles which you now noticed looked identical to your two toned friend's.
"Yeah! Come over to our house next time [F/N]! Fuyumi can cook us a super good dinner!" Natsuo cheered.
With a laugh Fuyumi added onto Natsuo's words. "Yes, if you ever find yourself at the Todoroki household, I'd be more than happy to cook whatever you'd like."
"Aw, thank you Fuyumi," You replied. "I might just take you up on that offer."
"I'll see you two at home," Todoroki said in reference to his sibilings. "Bye mom, I'll visit again soon." And with the last goodbyes Todoroki and you left the hospital room.
...
"Thanks for inviting me Shouto, you're family is really nice." You stated as the two of you walked down the sidewalk towards your home.
"Thank you, they all seemed to like you a lot too." Todoroki replied. "I'm glad they like you, seeing as you're very important to me."
'Oh no...' "...How so?" You hesitated, nervous as to what Todoroki would say. Was it selfish of you to hope he wouldn't say
"I like you, [F/N]. Romantically, that is." And there it was. Again.
"Why does this keep happening.." You mumbled staring holes into the concrete.
"I'm sorry-?"
"Shouto I gotta go, I'll be okay from here. Thank you for walking me this far, be careful on your way home, okay? Bye!" And you were off.
"[F/N] wait-!" But it was no use, you were already so far ahead and there wasn't much point in running after you anyway.
So instead Shouto Todoroki turned the corner and started making his own way home, hoping he hadn't just ruined a relationship with someone he cared for so deeply.
