"Ninja, go!" Y/n and Lloyd say, using Spinjitzu on Nindroids before attempting to reach an armor that disappears.

"You got closer than I thought you would. But then again, I didn't think you'd be quite so rough on my security droids," Cyrus says.

"If we can't steal the Golden Armor, I'd be surprised if anyone else could. It's secure, but where is the real one?" Lloyd asks.

"Some secrets are best kept safe," Cyrus replies.

"Where are the other Ninja? I asked for all of you to take part in this test," Wu says.

"About that..." Y/n says. "They said they had other plans."

"I understand perfectly well. The loss of Zane has affected us all. I haven't even heard word from my assistant Pixal since his memorial. It's heartbreaking," Cyrus says.

"If we dwell too long on what's missing, we fail to see what can be gained. The absence of Zane will either tear you five apart, or bring you closer together. The choice is yours," Wu says.

"We'll do what we can," Lloyd promises. "But it won't be easy."

"The greatest lessons never are."

"Most Ultimate Extreme Ninja Challenge Ever!" The crowd yells.

"I'm Jay, Ninjago's most lovable Ninja, here before the Gauntlet of Humility to see who will be Ninjago's next hero, and whose dreams will be gone, in a flash!" Jay declares, using his powers to reach a platform. "I'm here with Cathy, tireless mother of four, pillar of the PTA, and returning contestant. Tell me, Cathy, after being humbled by the Gauntlet the first time, what makes you think this'll be any different?"

"Because Ninja never quit!" She responds.

Jay laughs. "Okay, Cathy. Start the doomsday clock!"

A while later, an obstacle gets the best of her. "Heh, I got farther than last time!"

After the show, Jay goes backstage. "Ninja never quit, huh, Zane?"

"The team needs you now more than ever," Lloyd scares, scaring the daylights out of the Lightning Ninja as he turns around and gasps.

"How did you two get in here?"

"We're ninjas," Y/n says.

"And you are wearing makeup," Lloyd adds.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey. It's concealer, a time-honored tool of the Ninja. And what do you mean 'team?' I refuse to fight beside Cole. There's nothing you can say that will get me back with that girl-stealing, black-hearted, rock-pounding—"

"You know Nya talks about you just about every day, right?" Y/n asks.

"You don't belong here, Jay," Lloyd says. "This isn't you. You're the Master of Lightning, not the Master of Lighting. You know where we'll be if you change your mind," He adds before they leave hand-in-hand.

"Hey, big bro. The team needs you," Y/n says, hanging upside down off a tree branch.

"I thought I was good with a scythe," The Earth Ninja grunts. "Turns out, I'm even better with an ax. Ugh, I'm tired of fighting. Tired of Serpentine, tired of Nindroids, tired of...Jay. Out here, no one knows who you are. No one expects anything of you."

"But what would Zane expect? You're the Master of Earth, Cole. you don't belong in trees. Your feet should be on the ground. You can't hide who you are," Lloyd says.

"Sorry, Green and Purple machines, this is my life now."

"Oh, oh, cracked stem! She's falling hard!" A worker yells as logs start rolling down.

Cole's fighting instinct took over, and he jumped down, using his Earth powers to stop the logs as everyone gasps.

"Who is he?"

"Not one of us."

"If you change your mind, Cole, you know where we'll be," Lloyd says as they leave.

"Welcome to the Yang Slither Pits Final. In the left corner, we have Kai, the Flaming Shogun. And in the right corner, we have Kruncha," Mezmo says.

"Ninja, go!" Kai says as he uses Spinjitzu, earning victory. "Didn't your mama ever warn you not to play with me?"

"No," Kruncha replies.

"Man, I really wish I wasn't related to this," Y/n says, motioning to the new Kai.

"Victor of the Slither Pit and undefeated champion...Kai, the Flaming Shogun!" Mezmo says.

"The Red Shogun," Kai corrects. "Red Shogun!" He repeats, kicking Kruncha's head.

"Hey!"

"Some fight that was," Nuckal says, picking up Kruncha's bones.

"Let's get out of here," Kruncha says, kicking his laughing buddy. "You said to go down in the first."

"I said don't be the first to go down," Nuckal defends, kicking Kruncha's head out of the arena as Kai drinks some juice.

"You shouldn't drink too much juice. It's filled with more sugar than you realize," Lloyd says.

"Oh, it's you two."

"Excuse me, as your youngest sister, I would expect a more lively greeting," Y/n said, crossing her arms.

"The team needs you now more than ever," Lloyd says.

"Who says the great and powerful Green and Purple Ninja need a team?" Kai asks. "You seem to be holding down the fort on your own."

"I get it, Kai. You've ran out of bad guys to fight out there, you've got to come to a place like this. But where's the honor in that? Where's the Master of Fire?" Lloyd asks.

"It's the Red Shogun now. And where's the Master of Ice, huh? He's gone, but I'm still here. Who cares about honor? It should've been me. I should've been the one—"

"You always thought you should've been the one. First it was being the Green Ninja, now this. When are you going to start thinking of someone other than yourself? If you change your mind, you know where we'll be."

"There's only one Master Chen's, Ninjago's number one noodle house."

"Big bro!" Y/n calls out. "Over here!"

"Jay? Cole?"

"Ha, you too?"

"The runts tricked us all."

"We talk first, then eat," Lloyd tells Kai.

"Uh, trust me, do you know what kind of restraint I've had to have staring at all of this noodle goodness?" Cole rhetorically asks. "You're late."

"Make it quick," Kai says.

"I know without Zane, things have been different, but we have to move on. The reason I brought you all here is because...maybe we should add someone new to our team," Lloyd says.

"A new ninja?"

"Are you crazy?!"

"Come on, Zane's irreplaceable!"

"We cared for him too, but now it's time to care about this team," Lloyd says.

"Maybe without Zane, there is no team," Kai spits.

"This can wait," Y/n says. "There's trouble," She adds, gesturing to some thugs.

The Restaurant cashier fearfully opens the cash register before being placed on the conveyer belt. The thugs laugh.

"Check it out," The thug says.

"All right, now they're our problem. Excuse me, it's not polite to touch someone else's food," Cole tells the thugs.

"I'd listen if I were you. He's no fun to be around when he's hangry," Kai says before a fight breaks out. "All right, I admit it. We make a good team."

Kai kicks food off a conveyor belt.

Cole hums, eating sushi. "Everything's better on a full stomach."

The leader shatters a plate.

"Hey! I was going to eat that!"

Within one minute, they defeat the thugs.

"How can you walk away from this?" Lloyd asks as the thugs run out from the back door.

"Hey, let's get them, guys," Cole says as they chase after them.

"Oh, where did they go? Huh?" Kai asks before they see a table with fortune cookies.

"What's this?"

Y/n takes the slip of paper with Zane's face on it.

"It's Zane," Kai gasps.

"What does it say?" Cole asks.

"He's alive," Y/n says.

"I don't think those thugs were delivering a message to the Noodle House. I think they were delivering a message to us," Kai says.

"What do you mean it says he's alive?" Jay asks.

"I'm just reading off the paper," Y/n says.

"Why would these thugs lead us here?" Kai asks.

"You know, this has to be some cruel joke. And I'm not laughing," Cole says.

"Look," Lloyd says, pointing to the fortune cookies. "I think this was meant for us too."

"Fortune cookies?" Jay asks. "Very peculiar."

"So you think they forgot that there's five of us? I only see four," Y/n says as Cole eats one cookie.

"Uh, you do realize there's a fortune inside, right?" Kai asks.

"Oh," Cole says with realization. "So that's why they're called that," He says as Y/n giggles.

"Listen to this," Lloyd says. "'Master Chen has personally invited you to participate in his Tournament of Elements.'"

"Wait, a minute. Are you saying that Mr. Chen, the same guy filling my belly with delicious goodness, is actually Master Chen?" Cole asks.

"'Secrecy is of the utmost importance. Tell no one, or suffer the consequences.'"

"'If you ever want to see your friend again, meet on the pier at midnight and leave your weapons behind,'" Jay says as their fortunes explode.

The fortune explodes, and Cole bounces before belching. "Uh... at least I know I was invited," He says as they laugh.

"You don't think..."

"It could be a trap. A lie to lure us in," Kai says.

"Yeah, but what if it's not? What if Zane's alive?" Jay responds.

"The Tournament of Elements. I'm starting to think this Master Chen makes more than noodles," Lloyd says.

"You can forget bringing in a new Ninja, Lloyd. Let's go see about an old one," Kai says.

"Time for the gang to be back together," Y/n says. "And if this is a joke, this Chen is going to get it from me."

"Hm, are you planning on fixing the Bounty?" Garmadon asks Nya as she and Wu work on building something.

"Yeah, but we could use some help."

"Kick back, whip around and spin, and then we jump back, do it again," The radio sings.

'Leave your weapons behind,' Lloyd thinks as Y/n sits on his bed.

"Ninja, go! Ninja, go! Come on, come on!"

Garmadon knocks and enters the room. "I was just on my way to help Nya and Wu restore the Bounty. Would you like to join? Guess you could say it's all hands on deck," He says as Y/n stops the music.

"Uh, sorry. Y/n, the guys, and I are going fishing. Team building exercise," Lloyd explains.

"Hm, good to hear the team's back together," Garmadon says.

"Dad, our Elemental Power...are there others out there with powers like us?" Lloyd asks.

"Why would you ask?"

"No reason. It was just on my mind," Lloyd lies. "See ya. Early bird catches the worm," He adds as he and Y/n take their bags before leaving.

"Chen."

"Ah, I told you we shouldn't have worn them," Kai says, talking about their gis. "The Tournament of Elements. You think all of them have powers like us?"

"When I asked my dad about it, he got really suspicious. Like there's something he's keeping from me," Lloyd says.

"The fortune cookie said tell no one or else there'd be consequences," Cole scolds.

"Relax," Y/n says. "We said nothing about the tournament."

"We don't know yet if this is a trap. Wherever they take us, we have to stick together," Lloyd says.

"Watch your step, madam," Clouse says as Kai sighs dreamily, looking at a girl.

'God, no,' Y/n thinks, facepalming silently.

"We can't let anything distract us. You hear me, Kai?" Lloyd asks.

"Uh? Uh, yeah. Uh, got it. Whatever you said."

'There is something off about her,' Y/n thinks to herself.

"Master Chen will be charmed to see you've accepted his offer. A Master of Spinjitzu shall fare favorably in his Tournament," Clouse says.

"Hey, we're not here to fight. We're here to save a friend," Jay says.

"Don't be so petty, Master Jay," Clouse says, grabbing his nunchucks. "Everyone here has something to fight for."

"Chopsticks. I'm a big eater, heh," Jay lies before his nunchucks get thrown into the sea.

"Lloyd, wait!" Garmadon says. "If you get on that boat, you may never return."

"What are you doing here, Dad?"

"Master Chen is a dangerous man who should never be trusted. Whatever he promised you, do not believe him," Garmadon says.

"Lord Garmadon. It's been a while. It's Sensei now, correct? I can't remember," Clouse says.

"Clouse. I see Master Chen still has you running his errands," Garmadon says.

"I sense tension," Y/n tells Lloyd.

"I have to go, Dad. This is about Zane. It's about family. If we're ever going to be whole again, I have to get on that ship," Lloyd says.

"Last call. Are you in, or out?" Clouse asks.

"I can't stop you, son, but I can join you."

"Sorry, no more room on the ship."

"Are you sure?" Y/n asks before roundhouse kicking one thug off the ship.

"I stand corrected. There's room now," Clouse says.

"Don't worry, I'm not here to compete. Only to look out for my interests," Garmadon said as he boarded the ship.

"Let's ship out!"

The other Elemental Masters experiment with their powers on the deck.

"You know him. You said his name's Clouse," Lloyd says.

"Don't be fooled by his attire. He is a Master of the Dark Arts and Master Chen's number two."

"Huh, I thought Master Chen's number two was an egg roll and fried rice," Cole says.

"Why haven't you or Wu ever told us there are others with powers like us?" Kai asks.

"Because there are some things we don't want you to know. You were led to believe you were special, yet you never questioned where your powers came from," Garmadon says.

"Uh, are you implying that I'm not special?" Jay asks.

"Everyone on this ship is a descendant of an original Elemental Master," Garmadon says.

"Elemental Master? Who were they?" Lloyd asks.

"They were the First Spinjitzu Master's guardians, each endowed with an Elemental Power that has been passed down through generations," Garmadon explains.

"If that's true, then so is our sister Nya. But she can't do what we can," Kai says.

"Can't she?" Garmadon asks. "Power lies in all of you. It only needs to be awoken. The fighters here serve no master and have managed to unlock their own True Potential. For instance, that pale man. A distant relative to the Master of Light. Watch closely and you'll see how he's stayed hidden all these years," He says as the pale man disappears.

Someone then runs past them so quickly that they looked like a blur.

"Then there's Griffin Turner. Grandson to the Master of Speed."

"Hey, you can't lay a hand on me. I'm faster than fast. Swifter than swift."

"Uh, Master of Speed?" Jay asks. "That's not an element."

"So says the Master of Lightning," Y/n shot back.

"Oh, snap. She got you there," Cole says.

"And, uh, who's she?" Kai asks, looking at a lady with an orange hood.

"I don't know. Most of these people I have not seen. But they will all be gunning for you. You are Ninja. You serve with honor. Here, that means very little."

"Well, maybe honor means something to me," Kai says as he walks up to the figure harassing orange lady.

"It's okay. I can handle myself," The lady says.

"This none of his business. Karlof cold. Karlof just want her cloak," Karlof says.

"You look like you got big enough mittens. Why not leave the gal alone?" Kai asks.

"These not mittens. These crush Ninja."

"Ha, I'd like to see you try."

"Save it for the Tournament, Kai," Garmadon advises.

"Knowing my brother, he will not listen to you," Y/n says.

"Don't think Karlof afraid of you."

"No, you don't think much at all, do you?" Kai asks as Karlof grabs him. "Unh! Just jump in whenever you feel like it."

"You say Karlof not smart?"

"I'd say Karlof is plenty smart not to start something he can't finish," Lloyd says before Karlof punches Kai.

"Whoa!"

"Oopsy. Guess Karlof not smart."

Garmadon stops the other Ninjas from intervening. "Kai started this. He can finish it."

"Fire!"

"Enough!" Clouse insists.

"I'm sorry if I was cold to you earlier," Orange lady says as she helps Kai get up, absorbing his elemental power.

At that moment, Y/n felt a surge in her. She stumbles and falls onto the boxes behind her.

"Y/n, you okay?" Jay asks.

"There's something about that girl. I don't trust her. Not one bit," Y/n says, looking at the girl.

"We're here. Welcome to Chen's Island," Clouse says before hiding behind a crate and using his walkie-talkie. "Master Chen, Garmadon has returned. He says he will be looking out for his interests."

"Interesting. You worry too much, Clouse. Everything will work out. Just wait and see," Chen says.

"I swore to never return," Garmadon says.

"You know, you should never swear. It's a sign of weak verbal skills," Jay says.

"Not that kind of swearing," Y/n giggles.

"If Zane's on that island, we'll find him. We have to."
