JiU kept running even after she went through the portal. She didn't know where to go. She laid against a tree and slid down into a feeble position.
She could only think of one person right and how much she longed for a hug from that person.
"Yoohyeon." She said while closing her eyes.
"JiU?" JiU opened her eyes and she looked at Yoohyeon. Yoohyeon immediately saw her eyes tear up and hugged her.
JiU couldn't help but cry after being in the embrace of Yoohyeon. It's like the gods have answered her call by sending a demon to her side.
When JiU stopped crying, Yoohyeon broke the hug and looked into her eyes.
"What's wrong?" She asked full of worry.
"I saw my parents." JiU said. Yoohyeon looked at her confused.
"Isn't that a good thing?" She asked while tilting her head.
"Not when they just want to tell you that you have to take over the throne." JiU said.
"Did they not say anything else?" Yoohyeon asked.
"The only thing they did was talk about the family business. They didn't even say anything like, 'we missed you Minji', or 'We love you', or anything like that!" JiU said. Tears started to fall again and Yoohyeon didn't know what to do.
She felt so powerless when she saw JiU cry. She wanted to stop it somehow, but didn't know how to. Instead, she just hugged her.
"Are you in a bad mood?" She asked. JiU nodded.
"Then I'm in a bad mood too. Remember?" JiU nodded again. Yoohyeon tightened the hug.
"Let's be in a bad mood together." She said. JiU felt touched and started to cry even more. They sat like that for a while hugging under a tree on campus. People stared, but they didn't care.
JiU broke the hug and stared at Yoohyeon for a little bit, Yoohyeon wiped the tears off of JiU's face with her thumb.
"What brought you here?" JiU asked while sniffling a little bit. Yoohyeon just scratched the back of her head.
Should I tell JiU about the black demon right after she had this breakdown? She asked herself in her head.
Seeing Yoohyeon act like this, JiU looks at her.
"You have something on your mind. What is it?" She asked curiously. Yoohyeon sighed.
"You have a lot of pressure on you already. I don't want to add more." She said. JiU looked at her confused.
"If it's important, then tell me. If it's not, then tell me. I'll always listen to you even if it will add onto the stress." JiU said looking serious. Yoohyeon just nodded.
"I heard a voice in my head." Yoohyeon said. She looked towards JiU who looked at her shocked.
"You too?" She asked. Yoohyeon nodded.
"Did they tell you who they were?" She asked. Yoohyeon thought for a bit whether to tell her or not. JiU seeing her hesitate wanted to know who it was even more.
"The Black Demon got into my head." Yoohyeon said while looking down afraid of what reaction JiU would give her.
"W-what?" JiU asked.
"The Black Demon spoke to me." Yoohyeon repeated still not looking at JiU.
"What did he say?"
"He told me to follow in his steps and complete his quest." JiU froze and looked directly at Yoohyeon.
"What did you tell him?" She asked. Yoohyeon looked at her in the eyes.
"I told him I wouldn't do it." She said firmly. JiU let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm guessing his reaction wasn't so good then?" Yoohyeon nodded.
"Something like that. He said that I should watch out for my back and he told me to keep you and your friends close." JiU widened her eyes.
"What does he mean by that?" She asked her a little alarmed.
"He wants to kill all angels who can get into his way and all demons who want to get in his way including me and Dami."
"He wants to kill your friends first though." JiU said. Yoohyeon nodded. At this point, she was pretty sure that the Black Demon knew her weaknesses. He triggered it when telling Yoohyeon to look after her angel friends.
"I won't let him touch any of you until he gets through me though." Yoohyeon said. JiU just looked at her and shook her head.
"Don't you dare do that Yooh." Yoohyeon looked at her confused.
"I don't want you to die to protect us." JiU said.
"But-" JiU cut her off.
"No, I don't want to lose you! Or any of my other friends Yoohyeon." She said in a serious tone.
"Promise me that you won't throw your life away so easily for others." She said. Yoohyeon stared at her and nodded.
"I want to hear you say it." JiU said.
"I promise." Yoohyeon said while looking down.
"Have you told the others yet?" JiU asked.
"Only the demons and you so far. I have yet to tell Sua and Handong though."
"Get ready, because Sua might yell your ear right off if she knew what you were doing." JiU said. Yoohyeon got up and noticed that JiU wasn't moving.
"Are you not going to come with me to tell the others?" She asked. JiU shook her head.
"I just need to think for a moment. So many things just hit me at once right now." Yoohyeon nodded.
"Want me to stay with you?"
"No, it's okay. You should probably go tell the others." JiU said while closing her eyes. Yoohyeon took out her phone and texted the other demons to tell Sua and Handong.
"Well, too bad because I'm staying here next to you." She said. JiU looked up at Yoohyeon and Yoohyeon just showed her warm smile. JiU scooted over to give Yoohyeon some room.
When Yoohyeon sat down, she laid her head on JiU's shoulder. JiU was startled, but didn't move after seeing how comfortable Yoohyeon was. She smiled at the younger one and stared in front of her at the scenery of the campus.
Who knew so many things would happen today. I met my parents for the first time and they came to me with family business. I feel a little betrayed by Irene because she didn't say anything.
Yoohyeon might risk her life to save all of her friends, but she doesn't know how important she is to everyone. To me. I don't want her to throw her life away just like that. If she doesn't live, how would we be able to thank her?
How did the Black Demon get into Yoohyeon's mind? How did he talk to her? Is she somehow related to him?
JiU looked at the sleeping girl on her shoulder and her eyes widened.
That's right, she might be the only blue flamed demon left. She might have some of his blood in hers. Could she be related? What about Dami as well? She has a light blue flame and in the book it is said that the Black Demon killed most of the blue flames, so what will happen to Dami if he sees her flame?
So many questions filled her mind and so many thoughts. There was too many things happening and she wanted it to stop. She wanted to go back to the way it normally was where she would have class and hangout with her friends.
"JiU?" That voice again. She sighed.
"What do you want Irene?" She asked in her head. She could hear Irene sigh.
"Please hear me out." She said. JiU stayed quiet and Irene continued.
"Your parents don't really know how to show you love. They have never done this before. Please forgive them." Irene started. When she heard nothing from JiU, she continued again.
"I know you must feel hurt and I don't blame you. I would feel hurt as well, but they want to fix this. They want to be good parents and start over if you would let them." JiU just stood still trying not to wake up the sleeping puppy on her.
"Will they talk about politics?" She asked Irene. Irene laughed.
"No, they just want to spend time with their daughter. They don't really know how to be parents, so please work with them. They really do want to spend time with you though." JiU sighed.
"Okay then. I'll give them a chance. Just make sure they don't talk about politics." Irene gave a chuckle.
"I'll make sure they know that." After that, she felt Irene leave. She closed her eyes again.
What am I doing? She asked herself.
After a couple of more minutes, JiU shook Yoohyeon awake.
"Hey Yooh, It's time to get up." She said while smiling at how cute Yoohyeon was. Yoohyeon mumbled something, but didn't get up. JiU shook her more viciously and Yoohyeon got up alarmed.
"YA! What was that for?!" She asked JiU who was just laughing on the grass.
"You weren't getting up!" She said defending herself. Yoohyeon just rolled her eyes, but then smiled at JiU. Both made their way towards the angel's dorm.
Once they got inside, they saw their four other friends playing on a console while Gahyeon was just watching. They all noticed the door closed and looked towards Yoohyeon and and JiU.
Sua ran up to Yoohyeon.
"YAH KIM YOOHYEON! DON'T YOU DARE DIE BECAUSE OF US! I WILL BE THE ONE TO KILL YOU IF YOU DO!" Sua yelled. Yoohyeon plugged her ears and shut her eyes shut. JiU just laughed knowing that this would happen.
"Eomma, there's a letter for you on the table!" Gahyeon said while running towards JiU. JiU gave her a quick hug and a quick 'thank you' and went to the table to look at it.
She opened the letter and started to read.
Dear Minji,
We are very sorry for our meeting today. We didn't know how hurt you would be. Now that we see it, we would be hurt too and would be angry as well. We don't really know how to take care of children and when you came into our lives, we panicked not knowing how we would care for you or how we would teach you. We found a school that could only be accessed through the human world. We thought that we would send you there to grow up and to go to that school. Dad came by and tried to help you get to that school. He saw you use your powers on that girl and was already proud of you. He told you where to go and we are glad you went there.
We didn't know how to teach you anything and we would have done a terrible job if you hadn't gone there. We have no excuse for not visiting you though and we are truly sorry. We are busy, but Irene said that we should make time for family. How about tomorrow, we go talk about each other and figure out more about each other. I would love to see who you have become. We won't talk about politics. Irene has warned us. We can't wait to meet you and start over again Minji!
We love you. Mom and Dad.
After reading the three words that she has been longing to hear from her parents, she broke down. Everyone in the room noticed this and ran towards her worried.
Yoohyeon hugged her and asked her what was wrong. Sua and Handong just patted her on the back while kneeling in front of her looking worried, while Dami and Siyeon just stood there confused.
Everyone was shocked at first except for Yoohyeon. She has never cried in front of the others except for Yoohyeon and to see this was a shock for everyone.
"Are you okay?" Sua asked with worry. JiU nodded and smiled at them.
"I'm meeting my parents tomorrow." She said. Yoohyeon looked a little worried, but JiU gave her a reassuring smile.
A/N: Would it be okay to just leave JiU's parents as mom and dad lol. I don't really feel like going around looking for names. Hehe sorry.
