Marinette entered her English classroom, there she saw Alya, Juleka and Rose sitting together at the left side of the room. They called out Marinette's name and waved at her. The dark haired girl smiled at with delight. Oh how much she loved her loyal friends. She was interrupted by her thoughts from the sound of her teacher's voice.
"Did you bring your permission slip Marinette?" "Oh, yes." She placed her bag down on the ground straight away. Unzipping the bag, she took the white sheet of paper and handed it to her teacher.
"Thank you, now take a seat while we wait for the others."
"In our assigned seats?"
"Anywhere you'd like!"
"Marinette! Come on girl!" Alya said with a motion of her finger. Lifting her bag back onto her shoulders, she jogged to where the three girls were sitting. She sat between Juleka and Alya. Rose sat beside Juleka. "Nino said he's coming any second, Adrien is with him." Alya placed an elbow on the desk, her cheek rested against her palm.
That's when it hit her. Everytime she hears his name, she can't help but think about the confession. The thought of making a fool of herself made her mouth go dry. "Ugh I just-I can't do this Alya!" Slamming a fist down to the table, the girls flinched at the sound. "Can't do what?" Julekak chimed in, her curiosity got the best of her.
"I'll explain later I don't want Chloe or Lila eave's dropping on our conversation, I mean look! She's already forcing Sabrina to do her biology homework!" Alya pointed a finger accross the room. Marinette looked over, seeing Chloe sat on her chair, scrolling through her phone while Sabrina continuously wrote on her homework. "Not gonna lie I feel bad for Sabrina, Chloe always treats her like she's some kind of pet." Juleka stated, her eyes never leaving the two girls accross the room. "Minion, actually." Rose added. "Can't Sabrina take the hint? She's literally using her! But she always says, 'Oh no, Chloe is my bff, I'd do anything for her!'" Alya mocked Sabrina's voice.
"Well as long as she's happy it doesn't really matter." Marinette stated with a shrug. "Welp, any of you got some spare cash, maybe ten dollars? I forgot to bring my own to buy some snacks." Juleka's purple eyes darted back and forth, between the girls. "It's okay Juleka I'll buy you some snacks." Marinette offered her. "I knew I could count on you." The two smiled joyfully. Soon Marinette's smile faded away once she spotted Nino entering the classroom with Adrien and Lila behind him.
Lila flirted with him, fluttering her lashes from time to time. Marinette cringed at the sight. She did this everyday, it really got on her nerves. It made her feel angry. Adrien showed Lila his kind smile. "Well yeah, luckily my father let me come this time so I'm really happy about it."
Nino pursed his lips together, placing a gentle kiss against his girlfriend's cheek. Alya giggled, hugging him tightly with her two arms wrapped around him. At the corner of her eye, she noticed Marinette hadn't taken her eyes off of Adrien and Lila. The way her hands were clenched into two fists, she could tell that she was angry. No, jealous.
"Heyy L.B nice pigtails." Nino complimented. "I know I said my favorite superhero is Ladybug, but quit calling me that!" Nino simply shrugged. "I prefer L.B." He stated, pointing a finger up in the air. "Adrien! Come sit with us!" Alya broke the hug by pulling away from him. Adrien took a hold of his steps after hearing Alya call his name.
Lifting his head up to see, Alya and Marinette sat beside each other. He was about to walk over to the group until Lila gripped his wrist. "Aren't you gonna help me with my Algebra homework?" "Uhh how about when we're at Bora Bora? I want to go talk to my friends over there." He pointed out. Alya smiled awkwardly sense Marinette was giving Lila the glare of death. "Okay, I understand." Letting go of him, she straddled over to her own group of friends.
Adrien gazed up at Marinette, flashing a smile towards her, she could immediately feel her body tense up. "Adrien? You're here? What a surprise!" Rose clapped, giggles escaping her lips. Adrien chuckled. "Yeah, surprisingly my father allowed me to join this trip for once." "For once?" Juleka became shocked.
'Should I pity him?'
"Well then, this must be your first and last school field trip, so we have to make sure you have lots of fun, right dude?" Nino ruffled up his hair. The action always brought a smile to his face. Adrien glanced back at Marinette. She hadn't said a single word which concerned him. He was still unsure if she despised him or not. Ever since he'd gotten here, he noticed she stopped talking.
'Maybe she doesn't want to talk to me..'
"Mari!" Alya snapped. She shook her thoughts away. "Huh-O-Oh hi Adrien!" She waved, an awkwardly smile plastered on her face. "Uh..hi are you okay?" "Me? Oh I'm finee yup I'm doing great mhm." Marinette nodded. Juleka rolled her eyes. "Here we go again." She whispered to Rose. Clearing her throat, she tried to keep a good posture. Seeming presentable is what mattered the most. At least for her.
"Looks like we don't have to hang out alone anymore! We can all hang out together! With our friends!" Adrien cheered. "You boys have your permission slips?" Mrs.Bustier asked. "Yup." Nino pulled the folded papers out his pocket. "Here ya go." Reaching for the papers from his grip, she headed back towards her desk to check their names off.
Alya tapped her boyfriends hand, catching his attention. "Can we talk real quick?" She mumured. "About what?" He gave a weird look. "Alone, like outside the classroom." "..Fine, we'll be back my dudes!" Going down the steps to go out door with his girlfriend, Marinette panicked. "Alya no! Don't leave me here!"
"It's just for a few minutes!"
Adrien slighty raised an eyebrow. "Do you not want to talk to me?" Her eyes widened, at this point she didn't even know what to tell him anymore. "She's just feeling a little sick and Alya always treats her so-" Rose was cut off by Juleka.
"ROSE DON'T TELL HIM THAT YOU'RE JUST TALKING BULLSH¡T!"
"What?" The boy stood there dumbfounded. "Juleka! You ruined it! What am I supposed to tell him now!" "That she likes hi-" Rose raised a leg from underneath the desk to stomp on Juleka's foot. The unbearable pain shut her up. Adrien just stared at Marinette, waiting for her to say something. "You girls are confusing." He muttered. "Hehe..." She looked away from him.
...
Alya shut the classroom door behind her. "Seriously? The door has to be shut too?" Nino's face turned into an annoyed one. "Quit babbling and let me speak!" She argued. Sighing deeply, his arms crossed over his chest. "What?" "Okay so you know how much Marinette likes Adrien right?" He nodded. "Continue." "So I finally convinced her to confess to him today! Isn't that awesome!"
Alya felt positive from her success. Nino stared blankly, showing no emotion, instead he yawned from the boredom. "Are you even listening!" She grunted. "Babe you said the exact same thing like 2 weeks ago and when she attempted to confess, that didn't end well." Flashbacks from that day played through her head. Marinette was walking across the feild to get to her beloved crush but miserably failed. She ended up running into a pole, having Adrien worried.
"Okay I know! But this time she'll confess and she'll watch where she's going!" She bent over, shaking her boyfriends shoulders over and over. He shoved her hands away. "She's not gonna do it Alya, you know how she is." He believed she was telling lies, yet once again. "Nahh 'cause I got a trick up my sleeve." She winked. "Huh?" He waited for her to proceed.
"We're going to Bora Bora, so our mission is to make sure they spend time together as much as possible."
"So you're forcing her? Mission? Uh I did not sign up for this so I am not a part of your "mission". Nino stated, quoting the word 'mission' with his fingers. "I'm not forcing her! I'm just giving her a helping hand! It will work! Come on! Adrien is your bestfriend, you have to help me on this one!" The nerdy boy blinked a couple times. "Uh, no." His eyes avoided contact. He knew exactly what she was doing. The girl was ready to manipulate him. Forming a pout, he glanced and averted his eyes somewhere else.
"Ugh fine!" He pouted as well, feeling guilty for no reason. "Yay!! You're the best boyfriend ever!" Jumping onto him, he held onto her so they wouldn't fall. "Woah! Alya chill!" Pressing kisses all over his face, a laugh came from him. "Okay okay that's enough, now what's the plan?" Smirking devilishly, Alya leaned into his ear as she began to explain her plan.
...
"She's just sick! That's all okay!" Rose yelled out loud. "But Juleka just said-" Adrien was cut off. "Uh no she's not! She's just shy! Shes always been like that!"
"Shy?"
Marinette could feel his eyes on her. She wanted to explode. "Okay students! We got 7 minutes to go outside, get in the bus and figure out our seating arrangements! Please, at this time make sure you have everything to go!" The couple were now back inside the classroom. "Alya and Nino, get ready because we're about to leave." "Yes ma'am." They both replied.
"Alya help me!" Marinette's fearful eyes looked like she had seen a ghost. "What? What happened?" "Rose was talking-" "Silencio! I'm done arguing with you Juleka!" Nino wrapped an arm around Adrien, catching him off guard. "You ready for your first field trip my dude?" "I sure am!" Everyone headed towards the door which their teacher had left open.
The entire class carefully took steps down the stairs to get to the first floor. Marinette catched the sight of the sky. It was still pretty dark and gloomy. It felt weird to see a dark sky on a school day. As Mrs.Bustier led them down the hallway, everyone chatted amongst their classmates.
Alya laughed at her boyfriend, who continously kept creating silly expressions. Juleka and Rose hadn't stopped their argument, most of the time they did it to just goof around. Lila held her phone while her friend calmed out her brown straight hair with a pink miniature hairbrush. Chloe commanded Sabrina to carry her things. Sabrina gladly obeyed.
Adrien and Marinette walked together in silence. Now she felt the need to avoid him. After Juleka had given him a hint about her being shy, she didn't know how to behave anymore. Adrien wasn't sure what she meant by that sense Rose would talk over her every few seconds. At one some point he knew he was annoying her.
'Something's up with her and I need to find out what it is.'
Taking a deep breath, he opened his mouth to speak.
"Hey.."
