S.T.A.R. LABS
Speed was talking to both Alfred and Wells in the Cortex
Speed: "He acted like he knew me, like we'd done this before."
Alfred: "He was antagonizing you, Speed."
Speed: "I would get close, and he'd pull away. This was just some sick game to him."
Wells: "You'll catch him, we'll help."
Speed shakes his head: "No, you don't get it, all right? His power, it's beyond me, I'm not the fastest mon alive. He is. So how do we catch somemon that even I can't keep up with?"
Wells: "The beautiful thing about force fields Mr. Allen, is they're impervious to super-speed. We're almost finished fabricating the trap. All that remains is for Detective West to procure the bait."
Alfred: "I'm on it."
He then began to walk out of the Cortex and Speed followed him, Alfred then stopped and turned to Speed
Alfred: "Speed, why don't you stay here?"
Speed shook his head: "No, Alfred, today is not the day to tell me to stay behind."
Alfred sighs and continues walking, Speed following him out of the Cortex
PTRD
Speed and Alfred were talking to Dr. Tina McGee again, she was holding a piece of paper
Tina: "If the judge was gonna sign this, he would've done so already."
She then handed it to Alfred, who takes it
Alfred: "Look, you don't want this investigation to get any more public than it's already been do you?"
Tina: "This has Alexander Wells written all over it in big black letters. I am not giving you my tachyon prototype."
Speed: "It was quite the tour of your facility, doctor."
Tina then tilted her head at this
Speed: "You were fine to let us dumb Rescuers walk around...but I majored in physics and chemistry, I saw a lot of stuff that Science Showcase Magazine would love to hear about, so should I call their editors directly, or just leave a few posts on their website?"
Alfred then smiles at Speed's idea
Tina: "You'll have the device within the hour."
Speed smiles and nods his head
Tina: "I see why Alexander holds you in such esteem, Mr. Allen. You're very much alike."
She then walks out of PTRD leaving just Speed and Alfred to converse
Alfred turns to Speed: "Nicely done."
Speed then walks off with an angry expression and Spike walks up to Alfred
Spike: "Hey, Alfred, you got a second?"
Alfred: "Not now, Spike."
Spike: "I read the witness statement. The Flash was there. I know you got something in the works."
Alfred sighs: "Yeah, but you don't want any part of this."
Spike: "I got a task force approved to capture him, and I want in. I'm not asking permission, Alfred."
Alfred: "Excuse me?"
Spike: "If my task force isn't part of this, I'll go to Captain Singh. I'll tell him something's going on and you're not talking. I'm sorry. You'd do the same thing if you were me."
Alfred sighs: "Fine."
Alfred then walks off leaving Spike in the main lobby
UNDERNEATH THE PLASMA TOWN MALL
Trace and Pearl were currently searching for Black around underneath the mall with all the boilers and generators, Trace was holding a Dark Matter Scanner
Trace: "We follow the ionized particles, and that should lead us right to him."
The device begins beeping
Trace: "The CPM's are increasing."
They begin walking toward an empty corridor
Trace: "We should have told Dr. Wells and Speed."
Pearl: "No, not until we're sure it's him."
They enter the dark corridor
Pearl sighs: "Look, Black is not like you remembered him."
Trace: "What does that mean?"
Pearl: "Just don't freak out when you see him."
The device then spikes and powers down
Trace: "Oh, I really wish that was because the batteries are dead."
They continue down the corridor when an Umbreon emerges from around the corner
Pearl: "Black?"
She then walks closer to him, he looked like an absolute train wreck, old dirty and burned clothes, his fur extremely dirty, dark bags under his deep red eyes
Pearl: "Black, it's me, Pearl."
Trace looks on in awe, while Black remains silent
Pearl: "Look, I brought Trace with me. We're here to help you. You were in an accident. Do you remember?"
Black: "I'm not Black."
Pearl: "Yes, you are. You're Black Raymond."
Black begins to shake: "I'm not Black. I told you that. Now get away from me."
Pearl then grabs his paw: "Look, we need to take you back to S.T.A.R. Labs. We'll help you remember who you are."
He then grabs Pearl by the sides of her head and pulls her toward him and she gasps
Black whispers something to her: "Firestorm."
He then lets go of Pearl and pushes her back, his paws and head catch on fire
He then pushes himself backwards down the corridor and away from Trace and Pearl
TIMESKIP
CORTEX, S.T.A.R. LABS
The trap has been set up and is ready for the mon in yellow, Trace was staring at the computer screen, it was the security footage of the room the trap is in
Trace: "The tachyon device is in place."
Speed: "You think it'll work?"
Trace: "It'll work."
Trace then walks away from the computer and out of the Cortex leaving just Speed, Alfred and Wells
Speed: "So how do we advertise to him that the prototype's here?"
Wells: "We'll take care of that."
Then both Alfred and Wells stare at Speed
Speed notices this: "What's the problem?"
Alfred sighs: "Look, Speed...me and Dr. Wells have spoken...and we think it would be best if you weren't here for this."
Speed: "What are you talking about?"
Alfred: "You're too close to this."
Speed: "Maybe you're not close enough, if you hadn't been too scared and warned me weeks ago I could have been prepared for this."
Wells: "I think we can all appreciate Alfred's concern for Lazuli, Speed."
Speed: "That's why I have to be here. I'm the best chance at catching him."
Alfred: "Not right now, not in this state."
Speed then snapped: "This mon stabbed my mother through the heart and sent my father to prison for it. This is my fight."
Alfred shakes his head: "Not today, son."
Speed then sighs angrily, grabs his jacket and walks out of the Cortex
IN THE ENTRANCE TO THE PIPELINE
Pearl is holding an engagement ring looking at it sniffling and tears running down her face, Trace then walks in and sits beside her
Trace: "Pearl...don't worry."
Pearl then turns to Trace
Trace: "Now that we know he's out there, we will find Black again."
Pearl: "Why? So we can throw him in there with all the other meta-Pokémon psychos?"
Trace remained silent
She then looked back at the ground again: "I used to play this game in my head. What would I give up for just one more minute with him?"
She then sniffles again: "My house, my career...the rest of my life? Today I finally got that minute and I wish I hadn't. Seeing him like that, what he's become..."
She then struggles to holds back her tears: "Dear Arceus...I wish he had just died that day."
She then starts sobbing and Trace wraps his arm around her and gives her a side hug
IRON HEIGHTS
Speed was sitting in the booth, waiting for his dad to appear so he could talk to him
Then the door opens and Jin walks in, and goes straight to the booth and picks up the phone, Speed grabs the phone on his side
Jin has a huge smile on his face: "Merry Christmas, slugger."
Speed: "Merry Christmas."
He then notices Speed looks sad
Jin: "You all right, Speed?"
Speed shakes his head and sighed: "I screwed up, Dad."
Jin then tilts his head in confusion at this
Speed: "After years of searching...I finally found him. I found the mon who killed mom. The mon in yellow, the mon in the lightning. He's out there, and I had him."
Jin's paw begins to shake
Speed then sadly sighed: "He got away, I was so close. I promised you that I would get you out of here. Every day you spent in here has been because of him."
Speed begins to tear up and so does Jin
Speed: "Until today. Now you're in here because of me, and I'm so sorry."
Speed begins to cry a bit and he covers his eyes with his paw
Jin: "Speed, Speed, This is not your fault. Look at me."
Speed looks at his father with tears in his eyes
Jin: "I know what you've given up. Every decision you've made the past 14 years has been because of me and your mom. What you studied, why you became a CSI, even with Lazuli."
Speed: "Lazuli?"
Jin smiles: "You're my son. You don't think I know how you love her?"
Speed then has a shocked expression hearing that his dad knew that he liked Lazuli
Jin sighed: "But you never pursued her. You were too consumed with what had happened to me and your mom... to let yourself have a life. Well, let it go now, Speed. Hear me now."
Speed then wiped his eyes with his sleeve
Jin continued: "The mon in the yellow suit...he's taken enough from us already. Don't let him take any more."
TIMESKIP
ALFRED'S HOME
Lazuli was finishing up the tree decorations and Speed walks in
Lazuli: "Hey, just in time. I am almost done."
Speed closes the door behind him, he then walks over to the tree
Lazuli sighs: "Are there awards for tree-trimming? Because this is award worthy."
Speed looks at Lazuli and sighs
Lazuli: "Are you okay, Speed?"
Speed takes a deep breath and hugs Lazuli, who accepts the hug with confusion
Then there is a bit of silence before Speed speaks: "I love you, Lazuli."
Lazuli: "Oh, I love you too."
Speed then releases from the hug and takes another deep breath before saying something
Speed: "When we were kids, I loved you before I even knew what the word love meant and then my morn died, and I had to go live with the girl I had a crush on."
He then laughed and then sat down on the couch, Lazuli follow suit and sat down too
Speed sighed: "Look...there were so many times that I wanted to tell you. Junior prom, when I went away to college, when I came back from college, nights that we stayed up talking, all the birthdays, all the Christmases. But I never did. I just...I kept it in."
Lazuli remained silent
Speed: "After I lost my mom and my dad...I was afraid that if you didn't feel the same way that I would lose you too. That's the irony. I was so scared of losing you that I did."
A tear runs down Lazuli's left cheek
Speed: "I know I've had our whole lives to tell you this...and you're with Spike now, and I know my timing couldn't be any worse... but I just...I couldn't lie to you anymore. I'm sorry."
Lazuli remained silent and looked away from Speed who had a face full of regret for telling her his true feelings for her
He then sighed and walked out the door leaving Lazuli to process what just happened
S.T.A.R. LABS
The team was currently using the trap, waiting for the mon in yellow to show up, behind them was Spike and his task force
Trace: "Okay. Sending out another pulse."
Wells was staring at the screen waiting for the mon to appear
Spike: "Are you certain this trap will work?"
Trace: "I've sent up three charges in open satellite. If anymon's looking for tachyonic particles, they'll know we got them."
Then the room goes silent waiting for the mon to arrive
Then all of a sudden the mon in yellow shows up and gets stuck inside the trap and tries breaking out of it
Wells: "Let's see what we caught."
THE TRAP ROOM DOWNSTAIRS, S.T.A.R. LABS
The task force, Spike, Alfred enter the room, their guns drawn pointing at the mon, while Wells wheels in behind them
The mon was just standing in the middle of the trap not moving
Wells: "Trace, lights."
Trace: "Sure thing, Dr. Wells."
From the Cortex Trace turns on the lights in the trap room so the mon is more visible, but it is vibrating, however what they can tell is that he is a quadruped mon
Wells: "Detective Thawne? Would you like to read him his rights?"
Alfred begins to walk up to the trap
Spike: "Alfred, what are you doing?"
Alfred: "Getting some answers."
He then stops in front of the trap
Alfred: "Fourteen years ago, you murdered Mollie Allen. I wanna know why. Why?"
The mon remains silent but walks up to the wall of the trap and speaks to Dr. Wells
Mon: "Dr. Wells, we meet at last."
Wells: "What do you want with the tachyonic particles?"
Mon: "My goals are beyond your understanding."
Wells: "Oh, I don't know...I'm a pretty smart mon. I knew you were exceptionally fast. Any trap we manufactured would have to be invisible. I knew your cells could repair themselves at extraordinarily fast so you could withstand the damage this is doing to your body right now."
CORTEX
The computer begins to beep rapidly, it was an alert for the supercapacitors, they were beginning to fail
Trace: "The supercapacitors, the containment field is fluctuating. They need to get out of there now."
DOWNSTAIRS
Wells: "The reason I know all this...is because your powers are almost exactly like those of the Flash."
Mon: "Oh, I'm not like the Flash at all. Some would say I'm the reverse."
CORTEX
The screens in the Cortex turn to static, Pearl and Trace cannot see what is happening in the trap room
Pearl: "Dr. Wells, evacuate. Get out of there now. Dr. Wells!"
TRAP ROOM
The mon's downstairs cannot hear what the two are saying upstairs
The mon then runs out, grabs Wells from his wheelchair and takes him into the trap with him, and begins to beat the shit out of Wells
Alfred: "Trace, turn off the barrier!"
Trace: "If I turn it off, that thing's gonna get out."
Alfred grabs a pipe wrench that is nearby: "Trace, he's gonna kill Wells!"
The mon is punching the shit out of Wells and throwing him around the cell, he throws him onto the ground and is ready to finish him just when Alfred hits the trap with the pipe wrench and it disables the trap
The mon stops beating Wells and grabs the Tachyonic device and runs out leaving a bloody Umbreon on the floor of the trap who is gasping for air
Spike: "Find him!"
The mon comes back and appears behind the task force and they all aim their guns at him
CORTEX
Pearl grabs her phone and texts Speed
SPEED'S LAB, PTRD
Speed is at his desk looking at the case files trying to distract himself after his confession to Lazuli, his phone buzzes and he grabs it, looks at it
It was a text from Pearl, it read: "S.O.S"
Speed then races off to S.T.A.R. Labs as quick as he can
TRAP ROOM, S.T.A.R. LABS
Spike was pointing his gun at the mon: "Don't move or we will shoot!"
The mon then runs around and kills all the officers around Alfred and Spike
Spike then breathes heavily and the mon approaches him and takes Spike's gun, stares in Spike's face who is scared stiff
Alfred then fires his pistol at the mon, the mon then pushes Spike away from him, and runs over to Alfred, grabs him by the throat and pushes him up against the wall of the trap
Mon: "I warned you not to hunt me."
Then a yellow blur shows up, and takes the mon away from Alfred who is now also breathing heavily
OUTSIDE S.T.A.R. LABS
Trace and Pearl run outside and see a yellow and red lightning tornado erupt from the ground and launch into the air, it was Speed and the mon in yellow
They hit the ground and the mon throws Speed into a car parked nearby which shatters the windshield and Speed yells in pain
Trace and Pearl watch the scene from behind some cover
The mon turns towards them and runs at them, Speed sees this, gets up and rushes the mon to stop him from hurting his friends
Speed steps in front of the mon, and the mon punches Speed in the jaw, grabs him by the neck and throws Speed to the ground, Speed grunts in pain
Speed gets back up and the mon holds him by the shoulder and punches Speed in the stomach a couple of times, then he grabs Speed's right foreleg and snaps it like a twig and Speed yells again and then he punches Speed in the face a couple more times
He lands a final punch on Speed's jaw and holds him by the throat and takes off Speed's cowl revealing the Jolteon's battered face
Pearl: "Speed!"
The mon then throws Speed to the ground and gets ready to finish him when all of a sudden there is a large fire blast that hits the mon and sends him flying away from Speed
Speed looks where the fire came from and sees an Umbreon, it was Black
The mon gets up off the ground and says to Speed: "Our race is not yet done. See you soon, Flash." and then runs off leaving Speed on the ground
Pearl and Trace run over to Speed who is groaning in pain, Trace reaches Speed, but Pearl goes right past him and towards the Umbreon
Pearl looks at the Umbreon
Black: "Don't look for me again."
His head and paws burst into flames and he flies off, away from S.T.A.R. Labs leaving Pearl who was looking up at the sky at Black
TIMESKIP
PTRD
Spike and Alfred were sitting down in PTRD in silence, then Spike said something
Spike: "Why did it...not kill me?"
Alfred: "I don't know, Spike."
Spike: "But you know more than you've been telling me."
Alfred sighs and stands up, walks over to Spike and whispers: "They're called Meta-Pokémon's."
Spike had a confused expression on his face: "Meta-Pokémon's?"
Alfred nodded: "Pokémon with very powerful abilities. You and me...are the only mon's on the force that know what's really going on and we need to keep it that way...so no mon gets hurt."
He then looks Spike dead in the eyes: "Can you do that?"
Spike nods: "And the Flash? Do you know who he is?"
Alfred looks straight ahead and sees Speed walking by to his lab: "Yeah, I do."
He turns back to Spike: "He's the mon that saved both of our lives tonight."
He then walks away from Spike, leaving him to think
CORTEX, S.T.A.R. LABS
Wells was sitting in a gurney, Pearl was treating him and Trace was holding a tablet in his paws
Trace: "I've been going over the data. I don't know why the containment system failed. I must have missed something."
He then looked at the Umbreon on the gurney: "I'm sorry."
Wells: "It's not your fault, Trace."
Wells then sighed: "But if you both feel a need to apologize for something...you might start with not telling me that Black is still alive."
Pearl sighed: "I asked Trace not to say anything. Once I saw what Black had become, l needed--I needed time to see if I could make him whole again. I'm sorry. I know you're mad."
Wells shook his head: "No, I don't know what I would have done differently in your situation."
He then grabbed Pearls arm: "I know I've made you a lot of promises, I know I've not been able to keep them all. But on my life, I promise you this: We will bring Black home."
Pearl smiles
SPEED'S LAB, PTRD
Speed was looking at a snow globe his mother had gotten while she was on the Windstorm Continent, Alfred walked in
Alfred: "Hey, Speed"
Speed looked up at Alfred: "You know, my mom traveled around the world twice."
Alfred nodded
Speed: "She spent a semester abroad on the Windstorm Continent, she loved it so much that after she graduated she went back. Didn't stop till she'd been to a few dozen other cities."
He then put the snow globe back down on his desk: "She always wanted to go back, but she never got a chance."
Alfred then grabbed a stool that was nearby: "I offered to send you abroad when you were in college."
He then sat down next to Speed
Speed: "Yeah, I know, I remember, I couldn't take off"
Speed looked away from Alfred and sighed: "I mean, the truth is...I'm stuck here...in Plasma Town. Fear has kept me in that living room for 14 years."
He then looked up at Alfred again: "Alfred, I'm...I was mad at you for being scared. But...I mean, the truth is, I was the mon that was scared. I've been afraid of the mon in yellow for...my whole life. That's why I lost."
Alfred: "When you first moved in with us, I thought it was gonna be too much. I'm already a single dad...finances were tough, and you were a little boy who just lost his mother."
He then chuckled: "But, man, was I wrong. Within two weeks you had changed the dynamic of the house."
Speed cracked a smile at this
Alfred: "Suddenly the house was filled with this... light...this energy. I mean, you brightened up everything. You'd seen more darkness than any mon will in a lifetime...and you never let it dim your soul."
Alfred sighed and continued: "So there I was thinking that I'm changing your life by taking you in...but the truth is...you changed mine."
Tears started to form in Speed's and Alfred's eyes
Alfred: "So don't lose that light now, Speed. The world may need the Flash...but I need my Speed Allen."
Speed nodded and Alfred got up
Alfred: "Let's go home."
Speed: "Yeah."
Speed then gave Alfred a hug, and Alfred hugged back and both smiled
ALFRED'S HOME
Alfred and Speed walked in and they noticed there were a few more mon there, Lazuli was on Spikes lap on a chair in the back, Trace was on the couch, and Pearl was next to him
Alfred: "Hey!"
Spike waved from the back, Pearl stood up to greet Speed and Alfred, Trace just tilted his head back to see the two
Speed: "Hey, what are you guys doing here?"
Alfred: "I invited them."
Speed then nods in understanding and takes off his jacket and hangs it on the couch
Alfred: "Where's Dr. Wells?"
Pearl: "Uh, he wasn't feeling up to a social gathering...but he appreciated the invitation."
Alfred then put his coat on the couch
Pearl: "Eggnog?"
Alfred nodded: "Yes."
Pearl, Trace and Alfred went over to the kitchen to grab the Eggnog, Speed walked over to Spike and Lazuli
Spike: "Merry Christmas, Speed."
Speed: "You too, Spike."
Speed then sighed: "Hey, l--I just wanted to say I heard you're moving in together and I'm really happy for you."
Lazuli gave a smile: "Thanks."
Speed gave a smile back: "Merry Christmas." and then walked away from the two
Alfred sipped on the Eggnog: "Mm. A day like today, Grandma Esther's eggnog seems a little light on the bourbon."
Trace chuckled at this as he also took a sip: "Hey, Alfred."
Alfred: "Mm?"
Trace: "I saw something weird tonight."
Alfred: "Yeah, Trace, I saw it too."
Trace sighed: "No, I mean...when the Flash and the man in yellow were going bumper cars on each other...I was watching the electricity coming off of them. Yellow and red electricity."
Alfred's eyes then widened
Trace: "When Speed was a kid...he saw red and yellow lightning in his house the night his mother died."
Alfred: "There were two of them."
Trace nodded: "The man in yellow may have killed Speed's mother...but there was another speedster there that night."
Lazuli: "Dad, it's time."
Alfred and Trace walk over to the living room where everymon else was and grabbed the tree topper
Alfred: "Okay, let's see."
He then put it on the top of the tree and it turned on and they all smiled
Speed looked at Lazuli, who looked back at Speed at the same time, smiled and turned back and Speed sighed
BONUS
SECRET ROOM, S.T.A.R. LABS
Wells just walked into the room and the lights turned on, it was completely empty, he then took a ring out of his pocket and held it
It had a lightning bolt symbol on it
He then put the ring on his finger of his paw and walked to a section of the wall in the secret room
He then pressed his fist to the wall and it opened up a storage section of the room, it was a mannequin of a quadruped Pokémon standing up, just like the one that held Speed's suit, there was a small red circle in the middle
He walked to it, closed his paw into a fist and pressed the ring to the red circle
A suit formed on the mannequin, however it wasn't just any suit, it was the YELLOW SUIT, the one that the Mon In Yellow wore
He then grabbed the Tachyonic device and put it on the chest of the suit and it began to radiate an orange colour around the suit
Wells: "Soon...Flash...Soon"
OUTTAKES
Speed: "No, you don't get it, all right? His power, it's beyond me, I'm not the fastest mon alive. He is. So how do we catch somemon that even I can't keep up with?"
Wells: "That is a good question Mr. Allen"

The mon in Yellow uses Speed as a shield and Speed gets hit by the fire and is thrown backwards
Speed: "How the hell does this keep happening to meeeee."

Spike had a confused expression on his face: "Meta-Pokémon's?"

He then looks Spike dead in the eyes: "Can you do that?"
Spike shakes his head: "No."

Alfred: "Okay, let's see."
Alfred tried to put it on top of the tree, but ended up falling over and knocking over the tree
