"Alright pay up. PAY UP." Seyeon laughed as she entered Donghyuck's apartment, hearing his loud voice.
She smiled as she watched Jeno and Mark groan in frustration as they each placed $5 in Donghyuck's open hands.
"Did you place a bet on me?" she asked, leaning against the door frame.
Jeno rolled his eyes, walking towards the female. "Yeah. Hyuck bet you would come five minutes late. I said ten minutes and Mark guessed you would be early."
Donghyuck's laugh resonated through the apartment before sticking his tongue out at the taller male. Mark chuckled, shaking his head as he put his arm around Donghyuck. "Hey, to be fair, I had faith you would come early."
Seyeon pursed her lips, leaving the apartment with the rest of the boys. "Thank you, but please, you boys make too many bets."
Jeno laughed walking beside her as the other two stood on the other side of Seyeon. "Did you know Mark, Jisung and Jaemin placed bets on who I would end up dating as if they all didn't already know I like Chenle," she huffed out giving Mark a knowing look.
Mark opened his mouth in shock, his arms up in defence. "That was before you told us you liked Chenle," he said. "Besides, I didn't even win that bet."
Donghyuck snickered, "Of course you didn't. Who did you even place your bets on?" He asked as the four of them started to make their way to the carnival.
Mark's cheeks flushed pink, a little embarrassed to say. "I said Donghyuck."
Jeno laughed at his words looking at the said boy who had his lips pressed together in a line. "Looks like you were both wrong," he said, making all of them laugh.
"Hey! I had to pay both Jaemin and Jisung because they got it correct. I keep losing bets," he mumbled the last part to himself as the three laughed at him.
Seyeon shook his head at the older. "Maybe you should stop participating in bets," she joked, although she was a little serious.
Donghyuck shook his head, tilting his head to the side a little. "No, not when I can easily earn money like this."
Jeno reached his arm out and shoved the boy away. "Shut up, everyone else is losing money."
"Well, what am I supposed to do about that? It's not my fault you all keep losing the bets."
In a second, Jeno was chasing Donghyuck as he screamed. Mark and Seyeon laughed at them, enjoying their bickering.
Leaving Mark and Seyeon alone, Donghyuck and Jeno continued to chase each other until they were out of sight. But that didn't bother the two. They knew they both would come back. They were both clingy.
"How have you been Mark?" Seyeon asked the older male.
Mark shrugged his shoulders, not really sure how specific to make his answer. "I've been fine. Training is tiring but I expected that. But I made some friends there and they make my time there a lot more fun," he said with a small smile on his.
Seyeon nodded his head, glad Mark had met some people in the company to keep him well. "That's great to hear. I hope you've been taking care of yourself Mark. It's not easy being a trainee, you must rest well and eat well."
Mark chuckled at the younger's words, feeling comfort from her words of worry and care. "I'm fine don't worry. Besides, whenever I open Neo Chatroom and read your messages, I feel like all my tiredness disappears. You guys give me so much energy," he said, raising his eyebrows while a smirk painted his face.
Seyeon laughed, feeling embarrassed by his words. But it was true. Their conversations were often silly and nonsensical but it felt like a break from the tiring world. A small burst of happiness and rest. He loved reading their conversations even if he wasn't taking part in them.
"How about you? I already asked Jisung and Jeno how they've been. How's life for you? How are you and Chenle?" Mark asked curiously, wanting to catch up on his friends.
Seyeon chuckled at his questions, appreciating him for always caring even though he was often far away. "I'm great. I've been very happy these days. Life has its ups and downs but they're easier to go through when you have amazing best friends, and a super caring boyfriend," she smiled brightly.
"Yes it is," he agreed with her words.
"Chenle and I are doing great. Nothing really changed between us, you know?" she looked at Mark. "Obviously best friends are different from girlfriend-boyfriend but the only thing that's different between us now is that we're together more often if that's even possible. And we're a lot closer, physically and emotionally."
"We share a lot more things with each other. We show our care a lot more openly. And we're very open with our feelings. We often talk about how we feel and our worries to each other. We joke around a lot too. It's nice, to have someone like him. He feels like home," Seyeon smiled.
Mark cooed at her, teasing her for her soft words. Seyeon laughed, shoving him slightly.
Mark laughed, "I'm just kidding. It's nice how you and Chenle ended up like this. I mean it's nearly impossible for you two to be closer than you already are. But I guess it really is possible. I wish you two the best."
Seyeon laughed, linking her arms with his. "I wish you the best with your future too."
"MILK!" They heard a familiar voice, laughing out loud, knowing whose it belonged to.
In front of them, Jeno and Donghyuck were skipping towards them with four sticks of cotton candy, colours varying from blue, pink and purple.
Seyeon gasped, smiling as Jeno passed her a stick of cotton candy. "Yes!"
"He found it while running away from me," Jeno said, taking some cotton candy and putting it in his mouth, gesturing at Donghyuck who walked beside Seyeon.
"The carnival isn't that far away, we saw it," Donghyuck said, shoving cotton candy in his mouth.
They all chatted and joked around as they got closer to the carnival, sharing random stories from their separate lives.
The three same-aged 'lee's got to hear hilarious trainee stories from Mark. Hearing things like Mark and Xiaojun's Justin Bieber karaoke sessions to Yuta and Shotaro pranking Sungchan to Sungchan and Mark making a stupid rap about waterfalls.
They enjoyed his stories and they loved hearing from him after so long of not seeing him. (Ignoring the fact that they did see each other with the rest of Neo Fam just the day before.)
"Let's get matching animal hats!" Donghyuck squealed, pulling Seyeon to the rack of different animal hats. Mark and Jeno followed behind them, laughing at the bear and cat hats they were wearing.
Mark shook his head, stepping back in embarrassment. He did not want to have a photo taken and it be spread around once he debuts.
"Please~ Just this once~" Donghyuck begged Mark, pouting at the older male who just shoved him aside. Jeno chuckled before putting a tiger hat on his head and holding him close, preventing Mark from running away.
Seyeon laughed, pulling out her phone to take a photo of them in the silly animal hats, Jeno sporting a dog hat on his head while squeezing Mark with his body as Donghyuck had a bright smile on his face.
"This is so stupid," Mark sighed, immediately removing it from his head. "We're literally 21 years old," he whined, hiding his face in embarrassment.
"No one is too old for animals hats Mark," Donghyuck said, teasing him.
Mark huffed as Jeno and Seyeon pulled the two away from the hat rack and to the park of games in front of them.
Donghyuck spotted a balloon popping game and immediately dragged Seyeon and Jeno to it. "You two need to have a battle, like right now," he said. The image of Seyeon popping all the balloons in one try and getting the huge plushie never left his mind the first time they went on a renhyuckyeon date.
Jeno and Seyeon threw darts at the balloons, Seyeon managing to pop 5 balloons so far while Jeno only managed 3 balloons.
"Ah Lee Jeno, why do you suck at this so much?" Donghyuck sighed, teasing Jeno as Seyeon and Mark just laughed.
Jeno glared at Donghyuck as a laugh left his lips.
"Ah Seyeon is still the balloon popping champion," Donghyuck said as Mark laughed, smacking his arms. Jeno looked at Seyeon in defeat as she just smiled brightly before hugging him, Jeno jokingly pushing her off before laughing along.
"No way, that's so cute," Mark said as someone handed Seyeon the prize.
Donghyuck gasped and reached for the huge bunny plushie she had in her arms. "You don't need another plushie, please give it to me."
Seyeon laughed, bringing it away from him. "No! I'm giving it to Chenle, earn your own prize," she said, sticking her tongue out at him.
They played many rounds of different games in the carnival, not always winning a prize with Donghyuck sighing deeply, words of disappointment leaving his mouth as Mark, Jeno and Seyeon fail to win anything else.
"Ah~ Why are you three so bad at this," he sighed disappointedly, joking rubbing his forehead with his fingers.
Mark shoved Donghyuck as he just laughed at the older. "You try! It isn't easy!" Jeno smacked his shoulder, tired of the younger male.
"You're a pain in the ass," Seyeon said, smiling as she pinched his cheeks.
They played even more games, all trying their best to win prizes. They eventually ended in laughter and a plushie each.
"You're giving that to Naeun?" Mark asked Jeno who smiled lovingly at the small corgi plushie in his hands.
Jeno nodded, his cheeks turning a little pink. Although they had gone here recently which mainly consisted of them laughing and Jeno trying to win many prizes for Naeun, he still tried his best to get another one for her. He didn't understand what he was feeling, but this is what his heart told him to do.
"You are so disgustingly whipped for her," Donghyuck said, scrunching his face at him.
Jeno rolled his eyes at him. "As if you aren't about to give that dinosaur plushie to Jaemin."
Seyeon chuckled, already feeling the bickering coming. She linked her arm through Mark's as the four of them started walking back to Donghyuck's apartment.
Donghyuck lost the game of scissors paper stone and thus, they were going to eat at his apartment.
"No, I'm giving this to Renjun. Jaemin is emotionally attached to his bunny plushie he wouldn't accept a new one," Donghyuck stuck his tongue out at Jeno.
Jeno raised his eyebrows before rolling his eyes at him.
Mark chuckled at their bickering, finding them adorable. Neo Fam always looked like they're fighting, but really, they're bonding.
Seyeon shook her head, taking Donghyuck's arm and linking his with hers, now squashed in between Mark and Donghyuck.
"I truly believe that one day Jeno is gonna snap and it'll be the end of Donghyuck," Seyeon said as Mark unlinked his arm with hers, the position of the three of them walking together getting uncomfortable.
Jeno smiled walking next to Mark as he nodded at Seyeon agreeing with her statement.
"Nah, Jeno is incapable of doing that. He acts all big and tough but he's a huge baby," Donghyuck said, wriggling his eyebrows at Jeno who simply glared at him.
Laughs left the four of them as they continued to talk and bicker like they always do. It was easy to say though their time spent together was short and quick, they enjoyed themselves.
They always manage to, no matter what they ended up doing. They always found a way to enjoy themselves in whatever they did. They talked and joked about many things, teasing each other in every sentence.
This didn't only just apply to the four of them, but all nine of the Neo Fam. Sure they had their respective love lives, but they still treated each other with love that was special to them. That was Neo Fam.
