'I'M NOT NUMBER ONE IN ANYTHING AT THIS POINT IN TIME. BUT THAT'S NOT ENOUGH OF A REASON TO QUIT, NOR IS IT AN EXCUSE.'
—Tanaka Ryuunosuke

┊͙˚. Day / Saturday — Time / 3 : 45 pm (In Russia)

[Y/N] softly hummed a tone of a song she recently listened to, walking towards the entrance of her cousin's college.

Autumn informed [C/N] that there will be a volleyball practice match held at the college again, and requested him to bring the 17-year old along.

[Y/N] agreed because this wasn't the first nor the third time she visited the volleyball practice match. She still didn't get used to Russia but somehow, watching volleyball matches brought her some comfort and familiarity, thats why she tagged along when the sport was involved.

She pulled open the door to enter the stands, expected to meet up with the other three. However, the only person she spotted was the male twin.

She tilted her head in confusion, "Akio-san?" The called male turned his head towards the source of the voice, the corner of his lips curling up slightly, a small smile forming.

"Heyo." He replied with a short wave, [Y/N] walked towards the male and stood beside him, her eyes landing on the court. "Where are [C/N] and autumn-san?"

Akio raised a brow, "They went to grab some snacks and drinks." His response made [Y/N] hum.

[Y/N] leaned her arms on the railings. She felt as if the heavy weights on her shoulder were lifted, putting her at ease and comfort.

Her sigh was heard, sounding more carefree and merry. "Hmm? You seem to be in comfort." Akio noted, his chin resting on his palm, side glancing [Y/N].

The latter breathed out a chuckle, "I guess you could say that." She started, her eyes lingering on the court in front of them.

"What do you mean?" His curiosity was getting the best of him, [Y/N] spoke "I'm trying my best to get used to being in Russia, I tried going to the park, the store to grocery shop with my mom, my aunt and I going to the mall. Nevertheless, I feel like an alien."

"However," [Y/N]'s smile grew as she watched the two captains walk up to each other, her visualizing them as Daichi and Oikawa. "The only place that gives me comfort and recognition. As you know, I was a manager of a boys' volleyball team back in Japan and almost all of my guy friends are volleyball players."

Akio listened closely to her words, "I went to their matches slash practice matches, when I had the chance to, that is regarding to my friends. As for the volleyball team I was apart of, I watched them all."

"Of course leaving all of them was difficult, but I did it for the sake of my mother. I wanted her to be happy, because after the passing of my sister and father, my mother wasn't herself. She thought coming here to Russia to live with my cousin and aunt would be a great idea." [Y/N] paused, recalling the events of her and her mother arguing regard the departure.

Akio noticed her sad aura after her long statement, he couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards the younger.

Though, he wasn't the best at comforting and the most awkward you could say. So he placed his hand on top of her hair, ruffling it softly yet carefully to not untidy it.

[Y/N] was startled by the sudden action making her glance at the orange haired. All she received was a warm smile, "It's okay if you can't talk about it longer, I understand." He nodded.

His warm smile.

It was identical to the ones she had seen in Japan, the thought of that ached her heart.

The female returned a smile, nodding in response. "..whenever I watch a volleyball, I think about them, and it makes me happy." Her smile became bigger as she watched the game commence.

Akio gazed at the [H/C] haired female before back at the court, "Akio-san." His head perked up at the sound of his name being called.

"Thank you," akio glanced at the female who looked at him with a warm smile, "I really needed to talk to something regarding that matter."

The male felt his cheeks heat up by her words of gratitude, for the first time he didn't know what to say, and it didn't help for someone as awkward as he is.

"Uh..Uhm.. I- your welcome." He averted his brown orbs from meeting her [E/C] ones. Akio couldn't control the following words that came out of his mouth, "If! If you need anyone to talk to.. Uhm.. you can talk to.. me! Yeah."

Akio wanted to dig a hole and hide in it.

He wanted the ground to open and swallow him up.

He wanted to just die at the spot.

Anything that is able to get him out of this situation. It was so humiliating.

Her light-hearted chuckle rung in his ears, making him glance back at the female. "For someone who is stoic like you are akio-san, I'm surprised."

"Shut up." He grumbled, looking away from the female with a light blush on his cheeks.

"Guys!! We're here!!!"
"Hah!? The game began?!" After autumn's entrance, [C/N] dashed towards where the duo stood, looking down at the court.

"Yeah. Took you both long enough." Akio spoke, his voice colder than when he spoke with [Y/N]. "Sorry~ we were distracted by the snacks and drinks. We'll be on time next time!" Autumn apologized, glancing at her twin.

Akio rolled his eyes, pushing the bridge of his glasses upwards, "Whatever."

"How was the match so far?" [C/N] queried their cousin, "it's good so far, you came just in time." [Y/N] spoke, a smile still lingering on her lips.

The older glanced at her before patting her head with a smile, turning their gaze back to the court.

The clock beside her bed read '11 : 59 pm', [Y/N] let out a sigh as she averted her gaze from the numbers and towards the ceiling of her room.

[Y/N] wanted to discuss with her mother regarding staying in Russia. The year is about to end and she's going to turn 18-years old.

(^sorry if your birthday isn't during the last three months of the year-)

She sat up, 'mom is properly still awake..' she thought while removing the duvet from her lower body.

After stuffing her feet inside the fluffy slippers, she walked out of her room and walked down the hallway to her mother's room.

[Y/N] gazed at the door that lead into her mother's room, hesitant about opening it. 'No I should talk to her now.' She nodded to herself.

The female extended her arm to hold on to the door knob, her hand visibly shaking as they rested on top of it.

"[Y/N]?"
The sound of her name being called startled her, causing her to flinch at the sudden yet familiar voice.

She slowly turned around and was met with her cousin, [C/N]. A sigh of relief left her lips before she removed her hand from the door knob.

"Don't do that again, you scared me half to death!" [Y/N] whisper-yelled, "Me? You're the one acting suspicious in front of the room your mother is in."

[C/N] retorted. "What were you doing anyway?" Their question caused her to stiffen slightly, "Oh no-nothing.. I forgot.." she lied.

The older [L/N] narrowed their eyes at their cousin, doubtful about her answer. [Y/N] noticed how their identical colored orbs slightly glared at her own, knowing what she said was false.

"Ne-Nevermind, Goodnight!" Wanting to leave the situation she was in, she speed-walked towards her bedroom, leaving [C/N] more skeptical about her actions.

Although they could only sigh and walk back to their own bedroom.

(Hope you enjoyed this chapter!)
