warning: blood

sorry... it's very late-

------

Jimin fainted easily. That's what the other members knew. If Jimin stood in one position for too long, he would start to get dizzy. If he saw blood, he got dizzy. The others didn't know exactly what it was, but they found themselves concerned at times. Jimin claimed that there was nothing wrong with him. But according to the others, there was. Why else would he get dizzy so easily? There was definitely something wrong.

But Jimin knew what he had. He just had vasovagal syncope. He had had to deal with it ever since he was a teenager and to be completely honest, it still did scare him at times. It sometimes happened completely randomly and he had to hang on to someone or something to keep himself steady. Usually, he tried to sit down somewhere and take deep breaths to calm himself down. But that wasn't always possible. If it happened on stage, he always fell dramatically so the others wouldn't suspect anything.

More than anything, the reason why Jimin hadn't told the members about it was because he was scared they would laugh at him. Either that or they would be way too careful around him. They would try and protect him from everything, which would get stifling. Jimin didn't want that.

Hopefully, everything would stay as it was now. The members sometimes got concerned but they weren't too worried.

------

Jimin adjusted his jacket. The room was a bit suffocating. There wasn't any ventilation and the circulating air was hot. It hadn't even been fifteen minutes since he had changed, but he was already starting to sweat. He made sure to sit down, unless...

They were doing a photoshoot for their next album. The stylists had put together their outfits and the makeup artists were just finishing up their perfecting the looks of the members. Unfortunately, the more time they took to get things right, the more impatient Jimin became. He could barely breathe in this poor excuse of a room. Sure, it was set up and decorated nicely, but it was so hot...

It wasn't just him. The others were struggling too. All of them were sweaty and exhausted.

Jimin wasn't lucky. This photoshoot was going to last four or five hours. It hadn't even been half an hour yet.

They were called up for their first pictures. It was the seven of them together. Four of them - Yoongi, Jin, Jungkook, and Namjoon - were sitting down, while the other three were standing. Jimin was going to ask if he could sit down as well, but he figured that would sound rude, so he kept his mouth shut. He managed to keep his face neutral for the pictures. But for whatever reason, the photographer wasn't getting satisfied. She was a perfectionist and she wasn't going to budge without the pictures being absolutely perfect. Jimin wanted to cry.

They went for another ten minutes. Jin had to move his head to the right one time, Taehyung had to lower his shoulders the second time, Hoseok had to lower his pinky the third time... Jimin was going crazy. There was always going to be something wrong.

-------

"Um, can we take a break?" Taehyung asked. "I mean, can I sit down? It's getting-"

"Hold on for a while longer. Come on. Ten more minutes."

Jimin shook his head. The others looked similarly annoyed, but none of them complained. None of them had the energy to complain.

He grabbed Hoseok's hand to steady himself. Hoseok flashed him an uneasy smile. Jimin swallowed back his discomfort. If he could just hang on for ten more minutes...

The pictures kept being taken. This lens was adjusted, then that light was adjusted, everything was taking such a long time. Jimin practically clung onto Hoseok's shirt. Hoseok was looking uncomfortable, but he didn't say anything.

If only he could hang on for a bit longer...

Jimin kept thinking that one sentence. If he said it to himself enough times, he would be alright. He forced a smile at the cameras and tried to keep himself upright.

But in the end, it wasn't enough. He let go of Hoseok's sleeve so he wouldn't fall onto him.

Jimin's legs crumpled and collapsed. He blinked out like a light as he did. Just before he did, he felt someone grab onto him.

------

"Jimin, Jimin, how are you feeling?"

Jin was next to him when Jimin woke up. A fan had finally been brought near him. His clothes had been loosened.

Jimin groaned.

"Let him take a break, don't push him back into the shoot immediately," Taehyung said from behind.

"Yeah," Jin said back.

"Do you think you can sit up?" he asked Jimin a moment later.

Jimin hummed. His legs felt weak and every muscle in his body hurt. Even so, he took Jin's extended hand and tried to pull himself up. His back was drenched with sweat. He couldn't last long in this environment. Jin had to support his back so he could get onto his wobbly legs.

Jin dragged him over to a couch and helped him sit down. The fan was brought near his face again. Jimin sighed.

"We need a break," Taehyung said. "Give us ten minutes, please."

The director threw his hands up. "Yes, sure, that's fine." He looked a bit pissed, but didn't say anything else.

Jimin just wanted to roll over and go to sleep.

-------

Fifteen minutes later, Jimin was back into the photoshoot. The stylists had to fix up his hair and freshen up his makeup again. Jimin's jacket was removed. He had to go stand next to Hoseok, who by the looks of it, was worried out of his mind.

"Are you sure you want to keep going?" he asked quietly.

"I have no choice," Jimin said. "We need to get this done today."

Hoseok sighed. He nodded. They didn't have a moment to spare.

"I'll be fine," Jimin reassured. "Don't worry about me."

"Yeah, okay." Hoseok nodded again. He grabbed tightly onto Jimin's hand right before the photographer started talking again.

--------

By the end of the shoot, another accident had occurred. And Jimin was in trouble. Hoseok had struck his hand against one of the props and had cut his hand. It was a small cut, but it had gone deep and there was a heck ton of blood. Jimin tried to avoid looking at it, but the familiar dizzy feeling had taken over again.

"I'll go get the first aid kit, hold on," Namjoon said. "Hoseok, sit down."

Hoseok agreed. He flopped down onto a couch and leaned back. His hand was stinging, but he was too tired to complain. Standing in this hot room was unbearable.

Jimin didn't move. His head was spinning. Seeing all that blood... His knees shook. He was too hot, he needed to get his shirt off, he was too...

"Jimin!"

He didn't register that he had collapsed until Yoongi's face appeared above his own.

"What happened to him?" Hoseok called. "Did he pass out again?"

Jimin groaned. Yoongi frantically shook his shoulder. Jimin groaned louder. He felt sick.

"Why is he fainting so much?" Taehyung asked. "What's going on?"

"Maybe because he saw the blood, I don't know, maybe." Hoseok shrugged.

"Maybe," Taehyung said.

"Bring the fan over here," Yoongi said. His own face was pale and sweaty. "Jimin!"

Taehyung got the fan and angled it towards Jimin's head.

Jimin stared straight up at the ceiling. The surrounding noise had blended into a steady din. He couldn't think at all. He heard Yoongi saying his name, but he couldn't do anything to respond.

"I think we should call an ambulance," Jin said. "Just in case."

"You're right." Yoongi nodded. "Tell Hobeum hyung, will you?"

"Yeah!"

Jin ran off. Namjoon came back with the first aid kit for Hoseok. His eyes widened when he saw Jimin sprawled on the ground.

"What happened to him?" he asked.

"Collapsed again," Yoongi said. "I think he's awake, but he isn't responding to anything."

Namjoon shook his head. He headed over to Hoseok and sat down in front of him.

"Maybe he can't handle the heat?" Namjoon called. "If so, that's kind of dangerous."

Hoseok held his hand out for him. He had washed his hand and there wasn't too much blood on it anymore. Namjoon started bandaging it up.

"Yeah, I got Jin to tell Hobeum hyung. I think we should take Jimin to the hospital."

"Yeah," Hoseok agreed.

Jungkook was leaning against the wall, staring quietly at Jimin.

"Loosen his shirt," he called. "Yoongi hyung!"

"Huh? Oh, right." Yoongi gently unbuttoned Jimin's shirt and spread it apart. Jimin sighed, closing his eyes.

"I told him, I told him," Jin said. He ran into the room. "They called an ambulance. Don't worry."

"This room is causing this many problems for you guys?" The director asked. "Don't you think that you guys are being a bit much?"

"Yeah, I think we are," Namjoon said quickly. "We're weak and spoiled. Sorry about that."

Jungkook cracked a smile at the director's surprised expression.

-------

Yoongi's big fear was that Jimin had gotten heat stroke or some kind of heat-related illness. But nothing of the sort had happened.

Instead, he was told that Jimin was dehydrated and that he had a fainting condition. He had never known that about Jimin. Jimin had never bothered telling them.

Yoongi felt a bit betrayed.

------

Jimin got an IV in. It wasn't absolutely necessary, but the doctors wanted to be careful. He had fallen asleep in all the hassle anyway, so he didn't feel any pain. In the air-conditioning of the hospital, he finally stopped sweating so much.

He was dressed in a thin hospital gown, nothing heavy.

Yoongi, Jungkook and Taehyung decided to stay with him. The others, tired and exhausted, headed home.

------

"Yoongi hyung?"

Jimin was awake. Yoongi's eyes widened.

"Yes?"

"Do you have water?"

"I can call the nurse, hold up."

In a few minutes, a nurse came over with a glass of water. Taehyung helped Jimin sit up and drink it. Jimin drank it slowly, sip by sip. He took several deep breaths.

"How are you feeling?" Taehyung asked.

"Better. Much better." Jimin sighed. His head felt much clearer. Ah, finally some relief.

"So um..." Yoongi cleared his throat. "We were told that you have a fainting condition. Is that true?"

Jimin ducked his head. Of course, now they knew. He should've expected this.

"Yeah," he said.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Jungkook asked. "Do you know how scary it was to see you repeatedly pass out like that?"

"I'm sorry," Jimin said. "I was going to tell you, it's just..." He finished his water and put the glass on the table next to him. "I'm sorry."

"Just tell us these things, okay?" Taehyung asked.

"I will." Jimin nodded. "I'm sorry."

"What's it called again? Vaso... vaso...?" Jungkook asked.

"Vasovagal syncope," Yoongi said.

"Right."

"So it's just that you faint easily?" Taehyung asked.

"Ee... yeah, kinda. I get dizzy easily and stuff," Jimin said. "It's not as scary as it sounds. I just need to be more careful."

"Yeah see, that director was rude as fuck. I purposefully made a weird face so the pictures would suck," Jungkook said.

"What the..." Jimin laughed. "That's so stupid, but..."

Yoongi and Taehyung grinned.

"How hard would it have been to get some more fans in there or let us take more breaks?" Jungkook asked. "Not that hard! It would've taken us longer yeah, but it would've prevented a hospital trip."

"Yeah..." Taehyung sighed. He tucked a strand of Jimin's hair out of his face.

"And after everything, he was like 'ooh, you guys are overreacting'... like what the heck dude," Yoongi said. He shook his head. "So rude, so rude."

"What the heck dude, no need to be so rude," Jungkook said.

Taehyung laughed. Jimin laughed along, starting to feel more at ease. The lecture hadn't been as bad as he thought it was going to be.

--------

After that, Jimin did take things more seriously. The others would get worried if he didn't. If he felt dizzy or too tired, he made sure to sit down and get a drink of water. He didn't want to overexert himself to the point where he needed to head to the hospital again.

The other members looked out for him. They made sure that Jimin was always out of harm's way. Jimin told them more about the things that made him feel sick, such as seeing blood, hot temperatures and certain strong smells.

This way, he could be as safe as possible. Jimin, and all the others, wanted it to be that way.
