When we got into a limousine and drove for about 30 minutes until we stopped in front of an expensive-looking gate with the letter 'R' engraved on it

I looked at Ares and Atlas they were thinking the same I gave them a reassuring smile and they squeezed my hand gratefully
"We are home "the sperm donor yelled, I slightly flinched at his tone but quickly covered it up and it thankfully goes unnoticed by everyone. Immediately figures came running, they looked at us in disbelief, the woman— who I think is my birth giver was sobbing, the oldest one of the three guys standing had tears in his eyes, his gaze filled with love and adoration, the one next to him was glaring harshly at us—bruh we haven't even introduced ourselves yet, chill—we glared back surprising him, his eyes were filled with hatred but not toward us, self-hatred– a feeling I am familiar to– the youngest, on the other hand, was practically jumping in his place, with a huge, creepy grin on his face

Everyone starts laughing, even sperm donor, Antonio, and the grumpy bird "shit I said that out loud, didn't i" I realized, Atlas nodded his head clearly amused while I mentally facepalmed myself
"bambinos this is your mother, Helena" Vincenzo gestured to the birth giver who was still crying looking at us like we are the greatest gift in the world

"I am Hermes, I am so happy to have my babies back " he squealed, huh I think he is fine, but we definitely aren't fucking babies" I am Valerio and I am so excited that you are finally home, I am not the youngest anymore, we can do so many things together, we can have movie nights and prank the other and—" he rambled but was cut off by Hermes "Val your scaring them"
Ares and I looked at him with pure horror while Atlas looked at him amused with a hint of mischievous, these two will get along just fine
But the one that picked my attention the most is Mr.Grumpy bird, I stared at him wondering he looks familiar then it hit me

He put his hands around my waist and caught me then start tickling me "say I am the best big brother " he told me " never, Romi you are a big tickle monster, stop "I said between my laugh "not until you admit that I am your favorite brother " he smirked
"But you are not her favorite I am, " someone said from behind Romi "TONY" I yelled "Farfalla, your favorite big brother is here to save you from the big mean tickle monster," He said while pushing Romi off of me

The realization was written all over my face, I always used to have flashbacks about being happy with a family, and most of them were about these two boys Romi and Tony but I never knew who they were

"Romi " I muttered under my breath not sure anyone heard, but when his eyes went wides and tears start forming I knew he heard me
I don't think anyone besides him and Antonio heard, as they were the standing closest to me, my twins looked at me confused and I gave them the 'i will tell you later' look they nodded
"you remember us " Antonio muttered his voice holding so many raw emotions, in the few hours that I knew him this was the most emotion and vulnerability he showed
"I have a photographic memory so I always used to have blurry flashbacks most of them were about me playing with two boys Romi and Tony, I never knew who they were though, I just remember that it's not much" I explained casually

Romeo and Antonio were shocked and happy that she remembered them, while the others were slightly jealous of the bond these once had, they knew she was always the closet to Antonio and Romeo
After everyone introduced themselves, Hermes let the triplets to their rooms so they can unpack and get rest before dinner
The triplets loved their room and Astraea was glad that the colors of her room were neutral and not flashy pink
After unpacking, Atlas and Ares made their way to their sister's room "What do you think of the " Atlas asked her, Astraea was always observant and skilled at reading people, she even studied psychology to master her skills
"Antonio is great at hiding his emotions, he shows them around the people he trusts and loves only but even with them he doesn't like to show vulnerability or weakness, we should be careful around him, especially you two he might be able to detect some emotions on our faces, Sperm donor is exactly like Antonio they are pretty similar, as for Birth giver she is emotional and kind but she is also a ruthless Mafia Queen, Hermes is like the second mother of the family he seems genuinely happy that we are here but doesn't let his kindness fool you, he can be the devil if he wants to, Romeo has self-hatred, he will try to push us a way to protect his heart but I still don't know much about him and Valerio is childish and bubbly but the is the way he copes and hides his pain," she told them everything she had analyzed
They should look shocked but they are used to it "so, um– you remember
them " Ares asked hesitantly "we all had flashbacks of the three of us and family but I also had flashbacks of me playing with two boys that I called Romi and Tony and now I know they are our bio brothers " she responded they nodded and before they could question her more, they were called to dinner
They didn't have a problem finding the dining room because Raea (Astraea) has memorized all the exits, rooms, doors...
in case of emergency
They sat next to each other "when you finish dinner we will be discussing some things in my office " Vincenzo informed them and they muttered an 'okay'
While they were eating dinner and making awkward small talks Astraea's phone rang, Ezekiel's name flashed on the screen, she had to answer "I am sorry but I have to answer this call" she said and she got up from her seat just to be stopped by her father "sit down and put your phone on speaker " he demanded sternly
She internally rolled her eyes but nevertheless did as he asked, she wasn't in the mood to argue now "hello" she greeted over the phone "hello? really? we were worried sick, we have been trying to contact you all day we thought something happened to you " the person yelled worried over the phone
"Ezekiel we are fine John died and Aubrey was arrested then our biologicals took our custody and now we are in NYC at their dinner table eating Lasagna " she explained
Their family is still curious as to who she talking to
"WHAT! Finally, they won't be missed... wait hold up why didn't they call us .. biologicals who? huh " he asked her, utterly confused "Zeke I will explain everything later now isn't a good time but I promise we are fine" she assured him
"okay we were just so worried " he muttered "I am sorry we should have called earlier " she apologized "it is fine I am just glad your okay, but Alejandro and Pa have been trying to track your phones so I will explain to them what happen but they will still call and scold you " he informed her she sighed "I will take care of it, I love you "
"I love you too baby sis," he said before they hang up
The family looked at the triplets confused while the brothers we jealous someone was calling their sister 'baby sis' before they could question them, Thea's phone rang again she wanted to take this phone call privately but her sperm donor refused, so she answered in front of them not wanting them to start getting suspicious
"young lady you are in so much trouble, do you know how worried we are, Ezekiel explained what happen and said you will give us more information later " her brother scolded her "Alejandro we are fine I am sorry we worried you," she told him before he could say a thing, his dad took his phone and start talking "my Princessa are you okay, did they hurt you, I will kill them if they dared touch you " he rambled
She smiled softly at his concern "Pa' i am fine, no one wants to hurt us if they do I promise I will tell you even though we can take care of ourselves" she reassured him "MY BABIES" their mom screamed on the other hand of the phone "let me talk to them " she hissed at her husband "I missed you so much, are you eating well " she asked "Ma were eating Lasagna now and we miss you too" Ares answered chuckling at his mom, he loves her to death he was always a momma's boy "where are Matias and Elias" Atlas asked "I am here, I missed my favorite siblings" Elias said over the phone "I didn't miss you at all, I can now eat all the candies without Atlas chasing me wanting to steal them " Matias responds
"shut the fuck up Matias you know you love me "Atlas teased
"Language " their older brother and dad scold them "I hate you I just love my baby sister and we all know I am her favorite " Matias teased back "no you are not her favorite brother I am so shut up before I ground you, " Alejandro said to his brother over the phone. Who would have thought that this was a Mafia Man talking
"ok shut up all of you, Pa, Ma, Hermanos we will take to you later, we love you and miss you," Astraea told them. They said goodbye and the triplets finally looked up from Thea's phone to their biologicals
They on the other hand were watching the interaction with confusion, hurt, jealousy, and ...envy
They were jealous and hurt that they called other people, mom, dad, and brother. They were hurt that they weren't comfortable enough with them to show them emotions as they did with the people over the phone ...they envied their relationship
Nothing can explain how much Helena was hurt hearing another woman is worried about her kids, or how her children called another woman mom, how that woman was there for them when she wasn't
Nothing can explain how much Vincenzo was hurt hearing another man call his daughter 'my princessa '
or seeing how much this man worries about the triplets and protect them, but what hurt him the most was seeing his only daughter call another man dad, she was always a daddy's girl, and seeing how much his Bambina look up to this man, made him jealous
Nothing can explain how much the brothers were hurt hearing the triplets' interaction with these boys, they had a true siblings bond with them, they were jealous that their siblings called other men their brothers, or how they were arguing about who is Astraea's favorite brother
they wondered if they could ever build that kind of relationship with the triplets
Romeo and Antonio were the most jealous out of all the brothers, Astraea used to use the same baby voice when she was little on them and now they think she replaced them, she called other men her brothers and they called her their little sister, they never saw Astraea show emotions since they first saw her again, but with them, she let her walls down, it was inevitable not to notice how strong the bond between these people and the triplets was
But no matter how hurt, betrayed and jealous they were, deep down they were glad that the triplets had someone to care for them, protect them, love them and treat them like their own
After recovering a bit Antonio voiced out everyone's thoughts "who are those people, your adoptive father is dead and your adoptive mother is in jail and they don't have children "
Ares scoffed "We weren't talking to John and Audrey or anyone that is related to them"
"Those were our parents and brothers" Atlas replied
The family still looked at their youngest members with a questioning gaze "Ezekiel and Elias were our adoptive brothers, John and Aubrey adopted them when they did us, but when we were 8 we ran away from our adoptive parents... let's just say there weren't the greatest parents figure, then we met Pa he took us in, we met Ma and our brothers Alejandro and Matias, we lived with them ever since, even if we aren't blood we are family and love and protect each other to death " Astraea elaborated
But she wasn't completely telling the truth
'yeah that is half the truth, in reality when we were 6 the abuse started to get worse and at 8 something happens that pushed Ezekiel to take us and ran away, he was the oldest he was 14 he started to street-fight and provide for us, until we met Carlos (dad ) in the underground fighting ring he and his wife always wanted more children especially a daughter since they had sons but unfortunately she couldn't get pregnant again, Pa always says that when he says us his heart melted, something was drawing him to us and he knew we were gonna change his life so when he knew about our condition he immediately took us in and met the rest of his family, soon enough we all became attached to each other's and we became family who would die for each other ' she thought
Their family still have so many questions but decided to not push them any further, they want them to feel comfortable enough and trust them to open up to them
But there is still one thing that they can't stop thinking and worried about
what did she mean by 'not the greatest parents figure'
why did they really run away?
Romeo was masking his pain with anger "brats" he muttered Ares heard him and he was pissed "what the fuck did you just said " Ares growled angrily at his so-called brother "I said brats, what did your adoptive parents didn't get you the newest phone and toys and your bratty ass got annoyed and ran away, and then you go call some bastard your brothers " he spited
Ares was seeing red before he could punch Romeo or before Atlas reacted, Astraea's fist made contact with the wooden table, the sound echoed in the whole house, she immediately regretted it when she saw Ares and Atlas flinch, she sent them an apologetic look while they nodded their head saying ' it is fine '
Their family, on the other hand, were shocked by Romeo's outburst but more by Astraea's reaction, they were used to Rome's hot-headed actions but they never saw Raea that mad, she always kept her anger in check but the principal did warn them not to provoke her and her brothers was a sensitive subject for her, no one talks about her family no one
"I am gonna say this once Romeo so listen good, you don't know shit about us or our past so don't go judge and throw tantrums at us just so you can feel better about yourself, now you can talk all you want we will simply ignore you, but you crossed the line when you mentioned my family so I suggested you shut your damn mouth before I do it for you, and those 'bastards' that you talked about are MY big brothers, so don't you dare bad mouth them or I swear I will cut your tongue and feed it to you" she threatened him in a dangerous, cold, low tone that sends chills down your spine but you cannot miss the evident hint of anger in it

Today they felt more jealousy than they have ever felt in their entire life, she threatened her own brother to defend them
But they can't blame the triplets, they can't blame her, these people they call 'brothers' were there to scare the boys away went they weren't, they were there to beat every boy that dared hurt her, they saw her grew up into the woman she is right now, they raised her, they thought her how to play sport and how to defend herself
They were her brothers when they weren't there when they couldn't be there
But they promised themselves that now that they have them back they won't let them go again, they will do anything to protect them and be the best Big brothers
Under that jealousy there was pride, they were proud of how she stood up for the people she loved and respected, of how much she values loyalty, and indeed Astraea doesn't she think every relationship should be built on loyalty and trust
she would rather die than betray her own
Vincenzo and Antonio are admiring her, the dominating aura that demands respect, follows her is very similar to theirs, she screams 'don't fuck with me I am the lady boss, I am the danger' vibes. Someday she will make a great leader, after all, it runs in her blood
Vincenzo was really similar to his father as well as Antonio they have the same aura, mindset, morals, attitude: they were the leaders, everyone fear, respect, and worship them
But no one was as similar to Angelo Regio—Vincenzo's father and his children's grandfather— as she was, she was exactly the same, just like Antonio and Vincenzo she also had that aura that screamed leadership and respect. The way she observes, reactes and thinks reminded Vincenzo of his father.
They wish he could meet her, he would be so proud of his picolla donna (little woman)
she really was her brother's sister
her father's daughter
and her grandfather's granddaughter
she was a true Regio
the triplets all of them were true Regio they act, speak, and think like Regios
