It was way before the BAD DOGS, Vivids or Vivid BAD SQUAD was formed. Back when Touya was still playing classical music with his father. When Touya was in school, he and a person named Y/N played together with Tsukasa and Saki, until she fell sick. They played duets together, comforted each other, and lastly, had fun.
"We did it, Y/N!" Young Touya cheered.
"Yeah, we did."
"What's wrong?"
"It's just that I tend to get nervous and I do-" The bluenette cuts the girl off, holding her hands.
"Don't worry, I'll be there. If you feel lost, look at me and I'll be there to pick you up."
"Touya..." The girl stared at him with surprise written on her face. "Yeah!"
It's finally the day of the talent show, Y/N Touya had prepared for so long. Touya was confident he'll be able to please his father in musical terms. Y/N, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck; she had no idea on how to get rid of that tense feeling she has on her chest before performing.
"Y/N, Touya, you're next!" The teacher calls.
"Okay!"
Y/N was shaking with fear, curling up into a ball. Touya was trying to find the H/C-nette until he noticed how scared she looked.
"Y/N, look up." He commands.
The girl complied as her E/C orbs meet with his gray ones.
"Let's go?" Touya held his hand out for her to reach.
Y/N hesitantly grabs his hand as they enter the stage. There was so many parents waiting to see the performance of Aoyagi Harumichi's son. Harumichi, on the other hand, was hoping Touya won't screw up his performance with Y/N, believing she might be the source of Touya's flaws.
By the time they finished bowing, they sat together on the 33" piano bench. Touya pressed the first key as color begins to fill his surroundings. Y/N's was monochrome; she couldn't see the colors Touya filled the auditorium with. 'Why can't I see all the colors that you see, Touya?'
The duet was doing well, receiving comments, such as, "as expected of Mr Aoyagi's son," "that girl is doing a great job at playing," and much more. Touya's dad is pleased with his playing; that is until something happened.
All of a sudden, Y/N's arms stop moving, her sense of hearing, lost. Lucky for her, the dual-haired boy immediately covers for her. 'Why aren't they moving? Why can't I be colorful and free, like you?' Parents were talking about how the girl stopped playing and the girl just cried. 'Touya, I'm sorry...'
The performance finished, the duet takes bow as the girl with H/C hair and cries in the corner, taking more than the trembling fear against the echo in the mirror. Her waterfall of tears fall down her face, full of disappointment in herself.
"Y/N, look up." The boy strokes her head
"I can't." She responded.
"Why did you stop?" He asks.
"I don't know; it just happened. I'm sorry."
"Touya, that partner of yours is the cause of your flaws." His father calls out.
"But, father, she di-"
"From now on, you're not allowed to see her anymore." Harumichi punishes.
"Father, you can't just do that; she's my friend!" Touya protests.
"He's right, Touya." Y/N agrees. "I'm just the source of your flaws. As if I would know what that means."
"Even she agrees. Let's go home."
Touya had to deal with for four long hours of his father's scolding, in addition to more music lessons. It took him ten tries to get it right. The next day, Touya's dad went out to run a bit of errands. Lucky for him, he had an escape plan. He slid down a rope he, let Y/N climb on, and went to check on her. He was concerned about what happened and how it affected the girl. She was like his best friend, next to Tsukasa and Saki.
"Y/N, are you home?" The bluenette asks, knocking on the door.
"Go away." She replied.
"Y/N, I'm sorry about what my father said about you and I'm sorry for not being able to help you." He tries to apologize.
"I quit classical music!"
Touya began to cry to himself and ran back to his home, climbing on the rope and back into his room. Whenever he feels sad, he plays his sorrows away with the piano. By the time his father came back home, he heard the piano playing and went to the boy's room to teach him.
"Wrong. Do it again." He walked in.
"Sorry, father." The boy played once more.
"The tempo is off." Harumichi comments.
"But, Father, my hands hurt." Touya complains.
"You're not getting a break until you get it right." The graynette adult shot back. "That's what you get for performing with a girl with stage fright."
"Y/N and I practiced so hard for it!" Touya tried to protest again.
"She's sabotaging your performance."
"She would never-"
"Silence. Now, continue doing playing until you get it right."
"Yes, father."
The young boy continued playing with countless attempts to get it right. No matter what negative word or phrase about Y/N his father says, Touya still stuck with his words; Y/N would never sabotage his future. Later, he quit playing classical music and ran away from it, going to Vivid Street and meeting his partner for today.
"Touya, there you are." His partner notices his face. "What happened?"
"My father is at it again; making me think my old friend is sabotaging my music career."
"Your old man is just horrible. Making you think that? That's nuts!" The tangerine-haired boy comments whilst the boy slightly nods.
"So, what will you do?"
It took a while for the bluenette to process what to do in order to get the girl back to her normal self. It's been forever ago since she last saw Touya and locked herself away from the world, only to succumb to fear, her enemy, whom she doesn't know how to conquer.
"I'll get her back."
"Has she done anything music related?" Akito quizzes.
Touya nods, "I sometimes hear her singing this song I haven't heard of. Every time I'd compliment her, she'd say and I quote, 'th-that wasn't me, it was the neighbors, you idiot.' I can she's trying to hold back from music."
"Eh? So what you're saying is, she is trying to quit music, but it still finds its way back to her and that?"
"We worked so hard for that performance."
"Hey, about that song you mentioned her singing, maybe we can use that song and put it in our style."
"I'll have to do it my way; it's my fault she had to deal with stage fright. The downside is it requires me to conquer the piano."
"So you're saying you'll face the piano? But you just quit."
"It'll take time for me to get back to it."
A few months have passed and Touya has managed to show his father his resolve, who understood him, it replied: "I just don't understand the merits of that kind of music." He was really happy that his father managed to understand him and how he managed to tell him everything he wanted everyone to say.
"So, you want to get that girl, Y/N, back?" His teammate, An questions.
"Yes. Shiraishi, I want you to go to her house. Then, bring her to the WEEKEND GARAGE."
"Reason?"
"I'm going to ask Ken-san if he has a piano or-"
"We could try the Sekai."
"Are you sure?"
"That is if it's possible to bring her there and if they have a piano, we'd be lucky."
The grown adult, who is An's father couldn't help but eavesdrop at their conversation and decided to butt in by the time he head his name.
"I hear you kids are planning something."
"Yes. And Ken-san, do you have a piano out for tomorrow?" Touya inquires.
"I'll check."
"So, what's the plan?" Akito asks.
"I'll tell you."
He signals everyone to move close to him to huddle as he whispers the plan to his teammates.
"I see. Well then, let's do it."
An arrives at Y/N's house, knocking on her door and hoping she'll respond.
"Who are you?" Y/N quizzes.
"A friend of a friend." The ombré haired girl answers casually. "They want me to take you to the WEEKEND GARAGE."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure."
"Sure I'm sure. Let's go!" She yanks the girl's arm and runs to the designated place they promise to meet.
They arrive at a cafe with a piano on the stage and surprise, surprise, Touya was sitting on the adjustable 36" piano bench in his 4* Period of NOCTURNE card. Phase 1 of Operation: Get Y/N Back to Music is complete as they are now beginning Phase 2.
"Touya?"
"I believe you've got some explaining to do." He scolds.
"I know, it's ju-"
"Explain it to me through the piano." Touya commands.
"P-Piano?" Y/N stammered, "I-I stopped playing the-"
"Play it."
"What?"
"That song you were playing and singing to yourself."
"I wasn't singing or playing, I was..."
Touya sighs and before he starts playing, he pats the empty side of the piano bench, for Y/N to sit on. He took a deep breathe and starts playing the song she was composing and singing. He gave a small nod to the girl, meaning "she can do it."
She gulps and hesitantly presses a key and the colors Touya was seeing filled her vision. It's almost as if the colors of her monochrome world were filled like a coloring book. Once that happened, she continues to play and pours out her feelings to the piano, making Touya understanding how she felt.

They both poured their feelings out to the piano whilst singing. Touya's friends were quite surprised about his piano playing skills, Akito commenting he and Y/N are mad men. The song ends as the customers cheer for them, surprising the H/C-nette.
"There were people watching the entire time?" She questions.
"Yes, you idiot." Touya answers with a giggle, "I think I understand now. You're still being tormented by that time back when we were in middle school."
Y/N bobs her head in response. "We worked so hard for it, yet, I messed it up."
"Y/N you should've told me you had stage fright."
"I'm sorry." She hung her head low.
"It's going to be fine;" the bluenette pulls Y/N's chin close to him, "a team member of mine even had the same problem as you."
"Did they get through it?"
"Yeah," the girl with blonde pigtails replies, "and I'm sure you can too."
"And you are?"
"Azusawa Kohane. Nice to meet you, Y/N-chan." She bowed.
"How'd you-"
"Touya talks about you a lot." Akito cuts the H/C-nette off.
"A lot? Touya, I hope you didn't tell them that thing."
About that thing, she's talking about, it's the time they played dress up in Y/N's house. She and Touya decided it'd be funny if they were dancing to "Study Equal Magic" by S.E.M in their outfits. Touya being Michio and Y/N being (insert S.E.M member that isn't Michio) from IdolM@sters Side M.
Next, they dressed up as members of Dokonjo Finger with Touya as Yasu and Y/N as (Hachin/Sojun/Joe). It did not go so well since Y/N nor Touya know how to play the guitar but sung to OBENTO MAGNUM.
"I didn't."
'Snap!' An takes a picture of Touya smiling without him knowing. "Perfect!"
"Eh?" The two turn to the ombré-haired girl.
"Looks like whenever Y/N's around, you smile a lot." She states.
"I do?" She shoves the picture of smiling Touya on his face.
"I think that's the smile Tsukasa-senpai was talking about."
"I suppose that isn't the case here."
"Right. Y/N, the truth is, I actually left classical music and am now pursuing street music with my new teammates." He explains.
"'Friends' is a better term." Akito reminds.
"Aside from that, I wanted to play the piano with you, just like the old times. I understand if you no longer wanted to and I'm so-" Touya gets cut off by a kiss, for it takes a while for the boy to reciprocate his feelings for her.
"Don't be. I've been wanting to play the piano with you; I just haven't gotten the right, um..."
"Rely on me to be the one guiding you. I'll be there to help you up when you're down." A short kiss from Touya comes. "I love you, Idiot Y/N."
"You too, Idiot Touya."
An sniffles from the love birds. "Ah, the amount of cheese in this oneshot."
"It's gotten real cheesy." The gingernette agrees.

An: She did. Right, Andrea?
Andrea: Yes. And Akito, as punishment, I'm cursing your mind with images of Touya as a pancake.
Touya: What?

Finally, I've finished the Touya version of this. I just had to add Show By Rock and Imas here for fun. And yes, Dokonjo Finger is my favorite group. I'm supposed to be finishing Show By Rock and Imas but I started watching Wotakoi because of Itou Kent. Next is the one with Lihito from Anthos, Merc Storia and HypMic. Man I think I'm watching a lot of anime with Itou Kent involved.
