SPENCER'S GOT LIKE 742 PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW.
the most important being: she can't remember.
Not like can't remember her glasses or the name of the cellular structure that detoxifies - she can't remember her name. Or fact that she wears glasses. Or the past 5 months. Or her entire life.
It's like it all started, full force, 5 months ago in a HYDRA facility. She works for them, she thinks, but everything feels...out of place. And there's gnawing in the back of her brain telling her she's been here before she snapped to consciousness, but Spencer's not sure.
She's not sure about anything anymore. She's not even sure about the name, Spencer. She'd only heard it from faint whispers and glimpses of paperwork and Soldat.
He says her name is Spencer, and he is James, but she sees the guy go through torture and brainwashing and he's not exactly the most reliable source? But he trains her and he's always there and never really tried to hurt her, and she can't see the point or advantage of lying about her name.
5 months. No memories. Barely even a name. She's spent the time training and she's pretty sure what these people are doing is considered starving and torture but... she's alive. And she's strong - incredibly strong. She has this feeling that she didn't like the strength and the power before - maybe past her couldn't control it? But now?
She can do it. As long as she's conscious and not dying of starvation, Spencer banner can punch through brick walls and beat the shit out of soldiers.
But HYDRA knows her weaknesses. Punishment comes in the form of depriving her of food and sleep until she can't fight back, and then torturing her. The torture goes on until her brain is fuzzy and her body limp.
Naturally, when Spencer finds herself in some random cabin, in the middle of the woods, she assumes she's in some trouble.
For what? Spencer doesn't know. For God's sake - she doesn't even speak Russian!

a/n : hey ya'll! so we are back here again lol. ai have a few quick notes before we start.
1) this will have darker themes than the first book, so plan accordingly. spencer will have trauma, scars, and a lot of other things that will follow her throughout the plot. i will not put trigger warnings on each individual chapter, but these themes are constant, so please be cautious.
2) this will be shorter than silver linings! this book will span over about a month in the MCU, maybe a little less. it will be the final book.
3) we are not bullying spencer. you don't have to relate to everything she does, and that's because a) you're a real person and b) you don't have shared experiences. don't leave comments about how annoying she is or calling her names. it's kinda mean, guys.
