There he was...Klaus. He held me as tight as he possibly could and I snuggled into his chest. I burst into tears and just cried in his arms.
"It's okay, let it out Safire. I got you." He said holding me and rubbing my back.
"You can't give up. We won't survive without you. We would all die inside without your light shining." Said Klaus
Klaus has been there for it all, his my best friend but he will always be a bit more special than just a friend. He keeps a sacred place in my heart.
I opened my eyes to see him looking at me with fear, but not fear because he was afraid of me no, he was afraid I would jump...it terrified him to think about.
"I'm sorry." I said
"Promise me." He said
"I promise I won't give up." I said
He kissed my forehead and we just laid on the floor in each other's arms.
The next morning I woke up in bed ready for the ball, I got up and quickly put on a boss ass outfit to make sure everything was in order before getting ready.
I walked into the foyer and my team was lined up.
"Food?" I asked
"Check boss." Said The head chef
"Venue?" I asked
"Check, tables and any extra furniture was also arranged as requested. The hall is being decorated as requested and will be done in time for you to check." Stated Frankie
"Guests?" I asked
"Only who is needed, no extra irrelevant families." Said Cohen
"Good. Now all of you go get down for the ball and have a great time." I said
They all smiled and celebrated. What can I say I'm not a horrible boss to those I care about. After I checked the decor I decided to go work for a bit in my office since I still had time.
"Boss, come on I need to get you ready for the ball." Said Gina as she walked into my office.
"Okay, okay I'm coming. You're such a drama queen." I joked
"Yeah and you're the damn angel." She said sarcastically
"Wow. Ouch." I said while holding my hand to my chest pretending to be hurt by her words.
She just rolled her eyes at me and dragged me out of the office. We got to my closet and she had 3 options, all in red.

I decided to wear the 1st outfit, it but with black heels instead. I walked out of the wardrobe and Gina's jaw dropped.
"Damn I'm good at what I do." She said
"Girl I'm good at making it look good." I said
We both just laughed. After she added a few finishing touches to my make-up we walked towards the stairs. I started walking down the stairs and saw Kodiak standing at the bottom of the stairs, he looked insanely hot. He had a black suit with red details on it, damn you Klaus.
I looked at his eyes as I continued down the stairs, they were so bright it was almost like he was seeing an angel...he amazes me.
He took my hand and spun me around to look at me from all angles and then he walked around me inspecting me...what a dork. He started jumping around like a little kid.
"How did I get so lucky?" He asked while checking me out.
"I have no idea." I said while laughing
"You look breathtaking mi amor." He said
"You don't look to bad yourself handsome." I said
We stood there looking at each other and it was as if me were the only two people there...until Klaus coughed and broke our moment.
"Let's go guys." Said Cohen
We all got into the limo and just spoke about the plans for the night, I hope all goes well after all the last time I threw a ball someone tried to kill me. So let's just change that memory.
We arrived at the ball and Kodiak opened the limo door for me, taking my hand as I stepped out. We walked up the stairs and into the foyer. We all took our coats off and started making our way into the hall, of course I went first.
"Blue Eyes." Said the announcer
"Kodiak Sanchez." Said the announcer
We walked down the stairs arm in arm as everyone watched our movements, like we had all the control in the world. I looked towards the bottom of the stairs and saw Julius, his eyes were glossy, he almost looked sad but I could be wrong, his emotions are always there and then gone.
I walked to Scar and Ciara, they were standing near the bar talking, laughing and I was glad to see him smiling but I still wasn't to sure about her,
"Would you like to dance?" I asked
"I'd be honoured." Said Scar
"Babe I'll be back for you." I said to Kodiak who just smiled and nodded
We got to the dance floor and started to dance.
"So mama, did you see papa?" Asked Scar
"Yes mi amor, I know you want us to be together but I don't think I love him in that way anymore." I said
"I know mama, I do wish you did but I'm glad that Kodiak is making you happy, that's all that matters right?" He asked with a puzzled look on his face.
It was adorable to watch him try to understand.
"Yes love. Just promise me that one day when you find the right girl who loves you because of all of your insecurities and sees through all your walls that you will dance with me like this at your wedding." I said
"Always mama, after all I did miss you most my life." He joked
"I love you mi amor." I said
"I love you too mama." Said Scar
The song ended and we returned to our dates, Scar and Ciara were dancing...she better not break my baby's heart.
Kodiak and I went to the bar to get a drink or two.
"Baby what's on your mind?" Asked Kodiak
"Business. I need to speak to a few people in the back room." I said as I took a swig of my whisky
"Do you want me to keep an eye out while you guys are in the back?" He asked
"That's what I love about you, you never ask if I need you to do something...you see me as being strong enough and I appreciate that. You really do see me." I said with a smile
"You have no idea." He whispered into my ear
"Maybe I'll let you stay the night." I whispered in his ear
His face was in shock and I was fully enjoying it, his such a goofball. I signalled to Klaus and Cohen to get the meeting started. We walked to the back room and met with the Italians.
"You're trying to steal out shipments again. Did you not learn your lesson?" I questioned
"I will have my revenge!" He shouted
"Say hi to your family for me, I'll see you in hell." I said
"Wha-"
I threw my dagger right in between his eyes and then left the room, Cohen and Klaus sent the new recruits in to clean up. After that we just socialised with some people about alliances.
"I'm sorry Francisco but I don't need any favours." I said with an irritated tone.
Why do men think I need them, like I'm the boss of the biggest fucking mafia in the world! Geez. I decided to leave early because I got sick of the old men who felt their masculinity were being threatened.
We left and everything was good, Kiara was sleeping on Nathan's lap, Scar was sleeping while Cauara slept on his shoulder. Klaus, Cohen and Gina were drinking to seeing me happy again and Kodiak and I were just talking.
We arrived home but something was wrong, it seemed to quiet for my liking. I called Hunter before getting out of the car, my house is extremely secured so I was confused.
"Your uncle is here." Said Hunter through the phone, he knew I would know.
"Driver, take them to the bunker, Klaus, Cohen his here. Kodiak stay here and keep the kids safe. Gina make sure they stay quiet and calm. Don't open Heyy at bunker unless you hear 7 knocks." I said
"Yes boss." They all said except for Kodiak
"No I won't leave you." Said Kodiak
"Baby I'll be fine. I'll see you soon. I love you." I whispered as I kissed him and left.
The car drove away and Klaus, Cohen and I walked into the house. It was pitch black, I heard something approaching us and I dived then threw my knife.
"Ahhhhh, blue eyes!" Shouted Klaus
