Prologue:
"She's a human?" The lady from across the way exclaimed, her voice coated in disbelief and horror. "She can't.... It isn't possible... Oh! how devastated her parents must have been!"
The girl, barely at the age of fourteen, paid the woman no mind. She fought with her instinct, which at this moment was encouraging her to lash out and cause a scene. However, this treatment was neither new nor uncommon. The girl, with grey eyes aged, stared unseeing at her book as she sat on the bench in front of Rosewood's Library.
Just three more years. She thought to herself. Three more years until her eighteenth birthday, until she was long gone from this forsaken town.
With that heartlifting thought, she rose to her feet and made her way into the library, after losing all interest in the novel in her hands. Romance was for people who had the luxury of not having to fight for their name, their pride everyday.
Just three more years.
