today we all couldn't
be gathered in the same place
it was just you and i
but i didn't complain
it seemed that you had
something up your sleeve
something in your mind
i wanna show you something

before you grabbed my hand
thoughtlessly and took me
along to where you wanted
us to be
for me,
a new sensation had been
unlocked you see
i haven't roamed around
the school's premises
holding anyone else's hands before
it was a new feeling
but it didn't feel that foreign
because i had wondered
all this while
how your hands would feel
and i had bet
that they were warm
unlike mine that were mostly cold
but the fact that they
actually were quite warm
brought a proud smile
to my face
and i smiled when you were
looking away
until we reached
the basketball court
let me show you a little trick
you said
and spinned the ball
on your finger
i was amazed when i discovered
how good you were
at this
you seemed happy
as i threw some
genuine compliments
and somehow since that moment
holding hands
was normalized
and i swear
my heart raced
every time we held hands.
