I slept through the night, waking up about six. Juice was sitting up, staring out the window.
"Good morning," I said softly as I looked at my phone. Tig had texted me once about one am that Ava had woken up and asked for a snack in English. He got a nurse to find her some applesauce and she fell back asleep.
"Morning," Juice said.
"Thank you Juan," I said after a second. He just moved his eyes to me, his intensity never faltering.
"For?"
"You've been amazing the last few days," I said. "Seriously amazing."
"No I haven't," he said.
"I'd patch ya in," I said. "Your dedication to me and my daughter, it's what this club is looking for in its members."
"Seriously?" He asked, looking at me hopefully. I nodded.
"Yeah seriously," I said.
"Thanks Sam," he said. "Wait, were you-."
"Yeah I was named after the club," I said. "Dad really liked the name Samantha too but Mom agreed because of the club."
He just shook his head as his eyes moved back out the window to the hospital.
"I'm going to get some coffee," I said, standing up from the bed. "Want any?"
"Black," he said. I nodded and headed down to the lobby, getting some coffee. Piney was sitting watching the television in the lobby. Ava's image we'd given for the amber alert was plastered on the screen as the broadcaster asked for information on who had taken her.
"Really is something," Piney said. I nodded as I took a sip of my coffee.
"Something I pray no one else goes through," I said softly.
"You know that girl?" The hotel manager asked. He was still standing behind the desk about fifteen feet to my left.
"Yeah," I said. "She's my daughter."
"How's she doing?" He asked.
"Why?" Piney cut me off from answering.
"I have a little girl about her age. Breaks my heart someone would hurt her," he said.
"She's in the hospital," I said. "But she's back with her father and I."
"That's good," he said. I nodded and got a second and third cup of coffee for the boys up in the room. I headed back to our rooms as Juice walked out of his. He was talking to someone on my phone.
"Bobby," he said. I nodded and gave him the coffee for him and Jax as I took the phone.
"Hello," I said.
"Jax asked Kozik and Hap to bring your car up today. There's no duffels in it or Tig's room," he said.
"Then they're in the closet at my house still," I said. "If they're not there send Donna or a croweater to pack some bags. Do not let the guys pack bags for me and my daughter because Tig will have your head."
"I know," Bobby said. "I'm glad to hear she's okay."
"Thanks Bobby," I said.
"Of course Sam. We love you," he said.
"Love you too," I said and we ended the call. I walked into the room again and Jax was up drinking his coffee as Juice still watched out the window.
"Anything?" I asked.
"Nope," they both said.
"Been real quiet," Juice said. I just nodded and sat down on the bed, waiting for the last few minutes before visitation hours started again. I wasn't about to piss off the people helping my daughter heal.
