You stand outside of your new school and let out a deep breath. Your family had just moved to this area, unfortunately for you, that means starting in the middle of the semester.
It's probable that cliques have already formed and friendships made. Not to mention some may even know each other from middle school. You sigh before placing a smile on your face and walking past the gate into the school property.
You can't think negatively, maybe something good will happen today.
"Look out!" You hear a voice scream suddenly as you turn to the side and see a girl being chased by two guys. Her mouth is stuffed with what appears to be a loaf of bread. Before you could get out of the way the girl crashes into you making you fall to the floor.
"Ow...hey sorry about that. These two idiots were trying to get some of my breakfast," the girl says as she brushes her long brown ponytail away from her face. She helps you to your feet as you dust off your backside.
You look over to see a guy with a buzz cut and one with ash brown hair running toward the two of you. "Sasha, you seriously need to stop running everywhere. We don't have gym until second period," the buzz cut guy says as his eyes fall onto you.
"Hey, sorry about Sasha. I don't think I've seen you here before. Are you new?" The boy asks as you nod making the boy smile brightly at you. His energy and positivity are infectious, you can feel your lips curl into a smile just by being in his presence.
"Nice! I'm Connie, this is Jean and Sasha," Connie says as the other guy, Jean, smirks down at you. His face is long but he has kind eyes and a tender smile. What luck you have to run into a nice group on your first day.
"I'm Y/N, I'm a senior..."
"No way so are we! You must be transferred to our class then. We'll introduce you to the others!" Sasha says excitedly as she links her arm with yours and drags you towards the building.
"Hey Y/N, just some words of advice. Don't mess with professor Levi, the guy's terrifying when he's mad," Jean says as he speed walks trying to keep up with you and Sasha.
"He's right, also there are some kids in our class to be wary of. Just stick with us and you'll be fine!" Connie says as you nod.
Class 404
"Hey everyone! We have a new girl!" Sasha announces excitedly as she slams open the door to your new classroom. Immediately everyone turns to look at you, amongst them are welcoming faces and ones completely uninterested.
Guess it could be worse.
You scan the class briefly, quickly realizing that the majority are of European or Asian descent. Unlike the beautiful melanin tone that makes you stand out. Not to mention your head full of wild curls.
Regardless, you're pleasantly surprised that nobody seems to be judging you any differently as they would someone that looked like them. Your all humans at the end of the day anyway.
"Hi I'm Y/N," you say confidently as your eyes fall upon one specific guy sitting in the back of the class. His long silky brown hair is tied back into a bun, but strands of hair fall onto his face as he stares out the window.
His bluish-green eyes appear distant and uninterested, but you can't help but notice how attractive he is. He sits alone next to an empty seat, but a blonde-haired guy and short black-haired girl turn to him trying to get his attention.
You feel a sudden chill run down your spine as someone clears their throat behind you. You can sense the other three tenses as well.
"Do you four want to explain why your standing in my way?" A low intimidating voice asks making you jump and quickly turn around to see your teacher standing there.
"Sorry professor Levi, Y/N here is new so we were just introducing her," Sasha says quickly coming to your aid as you smile politely down at the slender eyed intimidating man. However, despite being so obviously annoyed with his job, you can't help but acknowledge that your proff is hot.
"I see, welcome Y/N. You can take the seat in the back next to Eren," proff Levi says as you nod and make your way to the back. You notice people shooting you apologetic glances as you make your way there.
All except the two that were trying to get Eren's attention earlier. The blonde guy smiles warmly at you, but the girl's eyes pierce into you. You're not sure why she looks at you with so much malice, but you make your way to the desk and sit down.
You look toward the opposite corner of the classroom where Sasha, Jean, and Connie sit waving sadly over to you. You wave back and place a tiny smile on your face as your professor wastes no time getting to work.
You try your best to keep up but find yourself growing increasingly more discouraged as the class goes on. You sigh deeply but suddenly hear someone tap your desk making you turn to them.
"Hey, you want to borrow my notes?" The guy, Eren, asks in a whisper as you chuckle and try not to melt under his gaze. His voice is smoother and deeper than you expected, you almost forget how to speak as his eyes stay locked on yours.
"Is it that obvious that I'm lost?" You ask as Eren nods and hands you his notebook.
"Yes, but it's cute," Eren says casually before returning to his desk and facing the front of the class. You feel your cheeks burn as you try to focus on what's being taught.
Out of the corner of your eye, you notice the same girl glancing back at you with the same threatening glance as earlier.
Lunch
"Eren!" You hear a voice call out as the girl that's been glaring at you all class suddenly runs up to Eren and grabs his arm. You can't help but silently wonder why she's wearing a red scarf when it's so warm outside.
"Ah, Mikasa can you not be so clingy?" Eren says annoyed as the blonde-haired boy joins the two of them. Judging by how they address each other it's clear that they've known each other for a long time.
"Hey Y/N, how are you finding everything?" The blonde-haired boy, Armin apparently, asks suddenly turning to you as you stand up to leave.
"Oh, pretty decently so far. Though it might take me some time to catch up," you say honestly as Armin smiles at you and nods. His bright blue eyes seem to sparkle gently, it's clear that he's a naturally nice person.
"Yeah, Professor Levi is a bit difficult to learn from. You can borrow my notes if you want, I'm Armin by the way. This is Mikasa and Eren," Armin says introducing the girl who glares at you wordlessly.
"It's nice to meet you, also Eren already let me borrow his notes..."
"Huh?! Eren did that?" Mikasa exclaims as Eren rubs the back of his neck and avoids your eyes.
"Yeah, she looked like she was struggling to keep up. I would want someone to do that for me," Eren says as you smile at him.
"I appreciate it," you say in a soft tone as Eren glances at you before nodding silently and walking towards the front of the class with his hands tucked in his pockets. All the while Mikasa remains attached to his arm.
"Hey Eren, Mikasa, wait up! I'll see you around Y/N," Armin says before rushing after the other two. You feel an arm be thrown over your shoulder and look up to see Connie.
"Hey Y/N, let's go get some lunch," he says as you nod. You notice Jean look at the door with a serious expression on his face.
"Hey, you should be careful around Eren. Mikasa would kill any girl who gets too close to him," Jean warns you as you frown slightly. At least that somewhat explains why she doesn't like you.
"So she's his girlfriend?"
"No, they just grew up together. Those three are inseparable, but it's clear that Mikasa has a thing for Eren," Connie answers as Sasha suddenly appears with an agitated expression on her face.
"Why are you idiots standing around? There's food waiting to be eaten, let's go!" Sasha yells at the three of you as you chuckle as follow her to the cafeteria. However, you find yourself thinking about Eren the entire time.
