At the Azur Lane Base
Hammann: Where's Valkyrie?
Javelin: I don't know... Last I saw her was 13 minutes ago...
Mutsuki: Has anyone seen Uzuki?
Shigure: Wasn't she taking care of enemies over there? *Points to the side of the base where Uzuki was last seen*
Kisaragi: But there aren't any other enemies on this side...
Yuudachi: Maybe Valkyrie's on the other side?
Yukikaze: Should we go take a look?
Mutsuki: What about Uzuki?
Hammann: I can help you girls with finding Uzuki... and the rest search for Valkyrie.
Hammann and everyone in Mutsuki's destroyer squad went to search around the base for Uzuki while Yukikaze, Yuudachi, Shigure, Javelin and Laff-
Javelin: Wait... where's Laffey?
Yukikaze: We have to search for her too?
Shigure: We can do that after we find Valkyrie...
The girls started the search for Valkyrie...
Valkyrie's POV
I got up and finally walked to the building with the screen.
Valkyrie: "I'm tired of this ship..."
I clicked on Kaga.
"Unable to switch ship! Ship <Valkyrie> is in the middle of mission <Base Defence>. Complete the mission and try again." popped up.
Valkyrie: Really? I hate this shit...
Not having another option I proceeded to press the "Battle" button with Valkyrie selected.
* * * 10 seconds later * * *
I was in the bedroom where me and my team were sleeping. I could hear explosions going off.
Ship: An allied destroyer has been sunk!
Valkyrie: And it begins again...
For a quicker way out of the hotel... I opened the window and jumped out of it... Our bedroom was on the 2nd floor and so, I took 30K fall damage on impact...
Valkyrie: Why does fall damage even exist....?
I got up and ran to the noise.
Ship: Enemy destroyer detected! Enemy cruiser sighted! Enemy battleship detected!
Valkyrie: Nice...
There were only these 3 ships left.
Ship: We have been spotted!
I saw all of the ships directing their attention to me.
*BOOM x4*
Shells were flying at me and I just stood there... for some reason...
I got hit by the lots of shells and my health dropped to 14K.
One of the shells hit next to my feet...
*Boom*
Ship: Rudder jammed! Unable to maneuver!
Valkyrie: "Wait.... They can incapacitate my things as well? Not just the ship?? Well... I'm screwed..."
I aimed my guns at the battleship and my they went *Click*... "Oh, right... I don't have ammo!"
The battleship was focused on me while the other two were now focused on Javelin and the other girls.
I started moving towards the battleship and when I got 200 meters away from it, my mortars started firing.
*BOOM*
The shells did 79K damage.
Ship: Enemy severely damaged!
The enemy, somehow didn't get destroyed.
I started accelerating towards the enemy and tried to turn.... having forgotten that my rudder was jammed...
Valkyrie: "Fuck!"
I then tried to slow down, but apparently my brakes weren't as good as I thought they were.... and.... I kind of performed an accedental ram.
I got a "Destroyed" ribbon and my health fell down to 1 HP, but it started healing at a rate of 1,800 HP/s and it lasted for 3 seconds (5,400 HP regenerated).
"I guess that was my skill..... Why didn't it activate earlier?"
Ship: Enemy super heavy battleship sunk!
"Didn't really help that it was a super heavy battleship... it still sank..."
The other girls were taking care of the destroyer.
The cruiser was now focused on me again...
Valkyrie: Really? Why is everything attacking me?
Ship: Rudder repaired!
I started moving towards the cruiser.
It fired and I steered to the side, getting missed by the its shells. I crossed the 200 meter mark and my mortars fired at the enemy. The mortar shells flew in a big arc and fell down on the enemy, dealing 73K DMG.
Ship: Enemy cruiser blown up!
And then the destroyer finally also blew up and I went over to the other girls.
Valkyrie: It took you so long to destroy the destroyer...
Javelin: We aren't as powerful as you, you know... we're just destroyers.
Valkyrie: And somehow, you didn't get destroyed...
Shigure: Destroyers aren't called that because they get destroyed!
Valkyrie: Whatever....
Yukikaze: Where were you the whole time?
Valkyrie: I ran out of ammo, I saw Uziki getting sunk, my mortars then got stuck and I died. Then I was waiting at my docks until the pain disappeared...
Yukikaze: So, that's where you've- *Cuts herself off*
Valkyrie: ... ???
Yukikaze: Did you just say-?
Ship: We've lost an allied cruiser!
Valkyrie: So these weren't the last ones?
Ship: Our team is taking the lead!
Valkyrie: Nice.... I don't think we need to do anything...
Javelin: Let's just relax now... the others can handle it...
Ship: An allied battleship has been sunk...
Javelin: Or... let's help them anyway...
Valkyrie: Yeah... the other shipgirls might die without my epic firepower...
Yukikaze: Yeah, right... you're the one who dies the most.
Valkyrie: But I can afford to die, while you can't.
We got on land and started making our way to where this battle was happening.
When we eventually got there, we saw that there were quite a lot more enemies than we thought were left...
It looked like there were 4 destroyers, 7 cruisers, 5 battleships and 3 aircraft carriers...
Valkyrie: Where did these even come from?!
I jumped in the water and towards the enemies.
My mortars fired at one of the enemies. The shells flew in an arc and fell on the enemy, causing 82K damage.
Ship: Enemy battleship foundered! Enemy cruiser destroyed!
"I got a double kill? Nice..."
There were a lot a girls here and a lot of them were badly damaged and others were burning.
I summoned my ship and it started acting like a turret and firing its mortars at the closest enemies.
Ship: Enemy battleship sunk! Enemy destroyer blown up!
"Another double kill!"
All of the enemies were now firing at my ship because it was such a big target.
Ship: The ship's on fire!
Ship HP: 64K/70K
I was moving towards the enemies to try and get their attention on me.
Ship: Recieving heavy damage!
Ship HP: 37K/70K
My mortars and my ship's mortars were flying at the enemies now.
Ship: Enemy battleship foundered! We've destroyed an enemy cruiser! Enemy destroyer blown up! Enemy aircraft incoming! Our victory is in sight!
Valkyrie: What the hell's happening?
All of the girls were just watching my ship getting annihilated and they didn't even do anything...
There were 2 destroyers, 5 cruisers, 2 battleships and 3 aircraft carriers.
Valkyrie: I thought I was lazy... Look at these bitches...
My ship fired again.
Ship: All enemies destroyed! Victory is ours!
Valkyrie: Wait... what?
Before I knew it, all of the enemies were sunk. (I was literally too lazy to keep this battle going... sorry...)
I looked over at the ribbons and saw that I had gotten 18 citadel hits, 2 penetrations and 12 kills.
Valkyrie: Wow.... this thing just one-shot 12 enemies...
Yukikaze: How is that even possible?
Valkyrie: I don't know...
I went over to the other girls who were now trying to assist the heavily damaged girls.
There were now more explosions to be heard.
Valkyrie: Did we win?
Shigure: Didn't you hear your ship? It said that victory was ours.
Valkyrie: Right... So... are the sirens dead?
As I said that, a gray screen popped up.
Valkyrie: Why did I get an "B-" rank? I sank so many enemies!
Shigure: *Looks at the screen* Maybe because you died so many times?
Valkyrie: I got so much penalty too...
Shigure: Sucks to be you...
Valkyrie: Fuck this! *Closes the window*
Akashi appeared.
Akashi: Is it over?
Shigure: I think so...
Valkyrie: I think I did most of the work...
???: You sure did...
I turned around and saw Sims who looked like she hadn't taken any damage in the battle.
Valkyrie: So... why aren't you damaged?
Sims: Because.... I was watching and not really doing much...
Valkyrie: So, you're lazier than me... impressive...
???: I wouldn't say that you're lazy...
I turned towards the new voice.
Benson: You did all the work...
Valkyrie: I used to be lazy..., but since I have to fight now, I guess I became less lazy... And now that the Sirens are gone, expect me to turn back to being lazy like Laffey...
We then started helping Akashi with bringing the damaged girls to her repair bay and other stuff...
* * * 3 hours, 47 minutes later* * *
It was 23:54 and me and my squad were on our way to the bedroom.
Valkyrie: How did that take so long?
Yukikaze: I don't know... Akashi's just slow.
Javelin: And there were 17 damaged ships...
We reached our room, I faceplanted on my bed and instantly fell asleep.
