Part 3! The Resistance

She/Her

2nd POV
♡︎♡︎♡︎♡︎♡︎

Rex wasn't hard to find, like he told you. You were more confident now that Kanan was happier and more attentive. You always reacted better when your boyfriend had his head in the game. You however didn't know if Kanan was yet ready to take on the impending force that inhibited Kamino.

Rex was waiting for your arrival. Ezra had already found the old Clone Captain and was sharing small talk. Ezra never had trouble making friends. Po was nowhere to be seen, however,

"Evening, Captain," you began, smiling at Ezra, "You two having fun?"

Rex smiled and nodded, "You have a very spontaneous Padawan, Kanan," he began; Ezra walking over and planting himself by your boyfriend's side, "Haven't met anyone half as unpredictable since General Skywalker. Keep him close."

"I always do," Kanan replied and laid his hand on his apprentice's shoulder, "Should we start the briefing, or wait for Po-Po?"

"I'm here," the Kel Dor spoke up, wandering inside the room. He must've been following Kanan and you.

You smiled towards your young apprentice, and watched Rex do an appreciative nod, "Alright. Let's begin then. The Empire has stretched its control all throughout the galaxy, but it's insulting to use Kamino the way they do. Darth Vader has been in and out of the facility lately, and I believe they're planning something. Cloning something."

"Could he be cloning himself?" Ezra questioned, immediately looking uneasy at the sound of Darth Vader, "We can barely handle one. If there are more, we might as well surrender."

Rex shook his head at Ezra's comment, "I don't believe that's the case. I suspect another army, or potentially an apprentice. My intel isn't great, but regardless, nothing good could come out of this."

"I agree," Kanan nodded, rubbing his chin in thought, "What about his Master? Palpatine... Think they could be cloning him?"

None of you could formulate a reply to that suggestion. Honestly, you'd rather fight 100 Darth Vader's than even one Emperor. He overpowered Master Yoda towards the end of the Clone Wars, and not to mention, single-handedly murdered your Master. Vader is bad too, but he is stoppable, unlike his evil Master,

"We have to move fast," you whispered, the feeling of your Master slowly returning to you. You'd blocked out your old feelings to remain strong, but just being reminded of the Dark Lord brought back memories of Mace Windu, "No more discussion needed. We are destroying that cloning facility."

"Whatever they've already made in there will have to be destroyed," Po-Po speaks up, "What if Master Jarrus is right? What if there are more Palpatines?"

"We fight for the freedom of the galaxy," you reply, squeezing your apprentice's shoulder, trying to calm his nerves, "Nothing has changed. Whether it's 100 Emperors, or just one. Nothing changes."

Rex nods and spins around, looking at a holomap that was located on his desk, "I'll ready up a squad. Get ready to head out."

Exiting the room, you nudged Kanan's shoulder and sighed, "Are you ready for this?" you questioned, watching Ezra and Po talking ahead of you, "Do you think our Padawan are ready for this?"

"They have to be," Kanan commented, watching Ezra speak with your apprentice, "If they're not, whatever they're making in that facility could get out in the galaxy. All the efforts we put forth would be for nothing."

You nodded your head in agreement, "Luckily Vader isn't here right now. You can't sense anything, right?"

"I can't," he agreed, watching the rain fall from the Kamino sky, "I have a bad feeling about this though. He isn't stupid. Likely, he's aware of Rex's encampment here. He wouldn't leave his precious merchandise unguarded."

"Worst we will have to deal with is an Inquisitor," you replied back, watching Rex leave his planning room and join the Rebel group, "We've dealt with many of those in our days. This'll be no different."

Kanan wasn't convinced, but you had made yourself less worried with your speech. Likely, Kanan would be right, but you prayed he wasn't. Darth Vader was an untouchable force, and if he does happen to be on Kamino, or arrive here soon, the four of you won't stand a chance,

"Ready to head out?" the old Captain questioned while approaching your group.

You all nodded silently, and the Rebel's got to work. Rex quickly called around 5 of those creatures from before. Comfortably, only 2 people could fit on them, so you'd be taking 10 people for the fight. With 4 Jedi, it was almost like Rex recruited an army for this upcoming combat.

You shuffled onto one of the beasts, and Kanan quickly slipped on behind you. Firmly, he placed his hands on your hips to prevent himself from falling off, "I could get used to this," he smirked, laying a soft kiss on the back of your neck.

Po and Ezra piled on the next beast, and Rex filed in with an unknown Rebel. The others piled on as well; all as unknown to you as they were to Kanan, "Let's fly!" Rex shouted, clicking the reins on his Aiwah, causing it to roar and take off. All the others followed; causing you to squint to keep the swift air out of your eyes. Regardless, it still burned.

Your group's beasts made quick work of the trip. It only took the sky whales around two minutes to fly you all to where the Ghost was docked, and away from prying Imperial eyes. All of your group dismounted and waved away the animals; only adding to your stealth,

"Alright," Rex began, squatting behind a crate, "I want you with me, Kel Dor," he stated, pointing his blaster at your young apprentice, "Kanan, Ezra and (Y/N). You three will go inside the facility, discover why Vader is so interested in it, and destroy whatever is inside. The rest of us will cover you and alert you to any changes in plans."

"I would prefer to have my Padawan by my side, Captain," you answered. Rex didn't know the discussions you and Kanan had had earlier, and if Vader really did have his nose in this, all of you were at risk. You were safer together, but Rex did have a point. With a Jedi by his side, they're more likely to be successful. Just, why did he have to choose Po?

"Captain's orders, Jedi," a female Rodian spoke up, cocking her sniper rifle, "If Rex wants your apprentice, he gets your apprentice. Just do your job and it'll work out, no sweat!"

Kanan frowned, "It'll work out? No sweat? Is this your first battle, friend?"

Po stepped forward and placed his hand on your shoulder. Although the species of the Kel Dor can't show many facial expressions, you could tell he was smiling. A reassuring smile at that, "It's okay, Masters. Just listen to Rex. I'll keep them safe, and if you need me, I'll be there in a heartbeat."

That made you feel better. But, just a little bit. Po was maturing at a rapid rate despite his age. You were very unlike him at his age too, so it was weird seeing a young Padawan act so unlike their Master, "Be careful, young one," you concluded, patting his shoulder, "Remember your training. This could potentially be our hardest battle yet."

"Yes Master," he bowed and turned to Rex, "Lead the way, Captain."

As Po's group began to do their job, it was now your group's turn to do the same. The facility was heavily guarded, and you had a feeling stealth wouldn't be the best call in this scenario. Stealth takes time, and you had a bad feeling. You'd need to move fast,

"Ezra," you began, scanning the area, "How many Stormtroopers do you see?"

He paused a moment, obviously counting and formulating an answer. Finally, the young boy stated, "I see five. What's that got to do with anything?"

You inwardly rolled your eyes at his condescending question, but he's not your apprentice to correct, "Everything is apart of training, Ezra. Now, I want you and Kanan to take out those four; two each. I'll take out the one in the middle with the datapad."

"You're taking the most important one, I see," Kanan smirked, but gathered his lightsaber up in his hand, "Fine with me. C'mon Ezra. Try to do it as quiet as possible. Five now could become 20 in any given moment."

Ezra just nodded, and all of you moved out. Kanan swiftly took out his given Stormtroopers by simply pulling them off the platform and into the dark waters below. Ezra wasn't as quiet, and took them out the old fashioned way, by lightsaber. You followed the apprentice's lead and took out your Stormtrooper that way as well. You all worked so fast, they couldn't call for reinforcements in time, "Got the datapad," you commented, tapping on some buttons which caused the main doors that lead into the factory to slide open, "Let's move fast."

Your group moved swiftly out of the rain and into the factory. There wasn't very good hiding spots for sneaking around considering the beaming white lights and locked doors. Despite Kamino being like this before, it felt even more set up considering the Empire had their fingers in this pie, "Do you guys actually know where you're going?" Ezra questioned.

You and Kanan both just didn't reply. You had only been inside this building a handful of times. When Master Windu's commanding Clone, Ponds, had lost his life, you both came to Kamino seeking out a replacement Commander. You felt terrible doing so, but that is war. Ponds would've wanted you to move on, and unfortunately, you did. With Windu as a Master, mourning was limited.

Pulling your hoods over your heads, you all tried blending in as best as possible, "Rex's distraction would be great right about now," Kanan whispered through closed teeth as you passed some Stormtroopers, "We're gonna get discovered."

"We will if you keep talking," you whispered back, keeping your head low, "Rex will come through, he always does."

Right as those words left your lips, the sound of angry blasters filled the surrounding area, and the warning alarm, familiar to anyone who was interfered with Imperials began to ring, "Speak of the devil," Ezra mumbled, picking up speed as all the surrounding Stormtroopers retreated to the location of the disturbance. You just hoped Po was alright. You knew Rex would take good care of him.

The coast was clear now. At least enough for you to find out what was going on. Kanan lead your group to the Cloning facility, and you frowned. It was so different compared to the beginning of the war. No more young children running around, anxious to start their war training, and no baby capsules, revealing the next line of young Clones. Now, the lights were dimmed, and there was one capsule with fogged glass. That's the only way they could be cloning individuals now, and likely, whatever Vader was working on would be in there.

There were only a couple medical droids near by, and those can be easily manipulated, so you weren't worried, "Maybe whatever is in there isn't ready to fight yet, and we can finish this easily."

Kanan lifted his hand in the air and started focusing, "I do sense a life form." He slowly slid the capsule door open, and you couldn't believe your eyes,

"Why is Vader cloning a child?" you asked, instantly disgusted, "Maybe Rex was right? Vader is taking an apprentice..."

The young boy's eyes snapped open, and honestly, he looked terrified, "W-Where am I?" he questioned, eyeing around the room, "Where's my dad?"

"Dad?" Ezra questioned, crossing his arms across his chest, "Don't tell me this Clone has memories."

Kanan got down on one knee; his face filled with sympathy, "What's your name, kid?" he questioned, holding his hand forward, "My name is Kanan Jarrus. This is my apprentice, Ezra Bridger, and fellow Jedi Knight, (Y/N) (L/N)."

You didn't like how Kanan had exposed all of you to a potential Sith, but he wasn't aggressive, and honestly, his face showed signs of hope at the word 'Jedi.' Perhaps he was too early in his cloning to have malicious intent, "I'm Galen Marek," he whispered, looking around, "Have you all seen my father? His name is Kento Marek. He is a Jedi too."

Your face dropped at that name. You looked to Kanan, and he looked the same. You heard through lots of talk that Master Marek had escaped to Kashyyyk after Order 66 had been put into place. He died to Vader's hand. This must be Vader's plan,

"Kid, we will help you find your father. He was a good friend of mine," you said, hoping to gain his interest, "We don't have time to talk though. We need to get you out of here and to safety amongst other Jedi."

Lots of lies, more than you wanted to admit to, but if this kid is swayed by the Dark Side, it could mean the end to the Rebellion, and you weren't inclined to let that happen,

"Lead the way," the young child whispered, eyeing Kanan. He looked like he had hope, and unfortunately, it was false hope. His father was dead, and regardless to where he ends up, he will be fighting in this war. Either Imperial or Rebel. This boy could be a tipping point. You just hope your lies don't cause him to want to leave...
