The princess and her protector put on a halt on their run when they saw that they are already far away from the monstrous creatures,
"Princess, are you okay? You didn't get hurt, didn't you?" The knight said as he search for some wounds on the royal girl's body,
He sighed in relief as they both sit down, due to exhaustion.
"Are they... Are they... Dead?" The gloomy princess asked the knight, eyes downcast and staring into the unknown.
The Knight can only put his head down in despair,
He then take off his helmet and look at the miserable state of the princess,
"I'm sorry your Highness..." He said then look down again
"It's okay..."
Then looks at her again and saw lifeless stare on her eyes,
"You won't leave me... right?"
He sighed and hug the princess,
"Don't worry... I promise... I promise, I won't leave you. I promise that I will protect you. Just like what I promised to his Highness, The King... I'll protect you... Even if it cause my life, I would still protect you"
The girl started to cry until she lost her energy and sleep on his arms.
"I'll protect you" said, he.

*Blag!*
The two woke up from their slumber and saw that it was night time already,
And they know that it wouldn't be safe to stay outside.
"What was that?" The princess asked while whispering,
"I don't know, stay here while I check it out" He said then was about to go, but the princess stopped her,
"No! Stay here, with me. I-I'm scared... Please don't leave... Please don't leave me alone..." She begged,
"Don't worry, I'll be back shortly" he smiled, reassuring the girl.
The girl look at him with pleading eyes but eventually nodded.
She watch his back as he disappeared behind the trees.
She sighed as she looks around, trying to secure herself.
Not long after, she heard some noises behind.
But when she looks around, the creature with horns is already sprinting towards her,
She jumped and run as fast as she can, yet the creature seemed to be catching up with her.
"HELP!" She shouted, "XIN! WHERE ARE YOU!" However, there was no response.
She cried while running because of fear, fear of end just like what happened to her dear parents.
While she was running, she stumbled on a fallen body of a tree that was on the way.
She tried to get up but the creature was already on its way to pounce on her,
Good thing Xin came just in time before the creature could do it.
It screeched as the sword went up to its arm, making a big slash on it,
The creature then growl at Xin then jumps on him,
"Your Highness! RUN!" Xin shouted, while he was struggling on keeping the sword above him, preventing the creature to attack him.
"NO! YOU SAID YOU WON'T LEAVE ME, YOU SAID YOU WILL PROTECT ME!" She shouted back, "I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOU TOO!" She cried,
"THAT'S WHY I'M TELLING YOU TO RUN! YOU MUST LIVE! I'M PROTECTING YOU NOW!"
The girl can't find any words to yell back, so she listened to the boy and turn around then run,
But when she runs away, the other creature suddenly appeared and runs after her.
She run and run as fast as she can, but the creatures are more faster than her,
They cornered her in a circle then started to drool,
"She looks all mighty" one said,
"She looks exactly like her mother" the other one speak,
"Indeed" one replied,
"I bet she taste the same as her" the dark eyed creature said then licks it lips then growled,
The others nodded, while looking at each other, agreeing to one another.
"Your Highnesssssss~" one hissed
"Perhaps you would like to give us a taste of your royalty blood"
"Please no" she begged "I'll do anything... Anything! Just- spare me, please" she kneeled down and hold her hands together and cried,
"Oh no no no~ you don't have to worry about anything~ we'll take it from here~" one smiled so wickedly,
It spooked her when the creatures started to come closer,
"NO! NO! PLEASE NO! STOP, GET AWAY FROM ME!"
"Aww, feisty I see... I like it~"
They laughed at the poor girl's situation and come closer, circling her and trapping her.
"You wouldn't mind if we take just a bite right? Just one?"
"Yessss~ Yessss~ Just one~"
"NO! STAY AWAY!"
They laugh again, but then suddenly... A bright white light started to appear below her.
They were shocked at the sudden brightness and it blinds them up,
"Run" a voice whispered to the girl,
Y/N didn't hesitate to listen to the voice and runs immediately.
"Urghhh" the creatures groaned and rub their eyes.
"Wha--- Where is she?!"
"She was right here!"
"How did she disappeared?!"
"We need to find her!"
The creatures the looks around and saw her running East,
"There!" One said,
"Let's go!"
They run and run as fast as they can so they can get the girl.
However, another light suddenly appeared infront of them, stopping them on their tracks.
The girl runs away from them, not knowing that there is another one waiting behind those trees infront of her.
She heard shuffling on the trees.
Then suddenly, there pops a Knight with bloody armor,
"AHHHH!!!" The girl shouted in fright,
"No, your Highness! It's me! Xin!" He said holding her by the shoulders,
She then looks at the guy and widened her eyes,
"Xin!" She hugged him in happiness,
"You were alive!" She said in relief,
"Told you, I will stay" he said smiling,
Then suddenly, a growl was heard behind Xin,
They both look behind him and saw the horned creature, but it was badly wounded.
"Still alive I see..." Xin said as he put the girl behind him,
"You can't kill me that easily" It said,
"I'm surprised that you guys know how to talk, I thought you only knew how to growl like a dog" Xin said,
The creature scoff and said "Well you underestimated this dogs, we are more than you think, you mere human" then he attacked them,
They both run around it then sprinted.
The creature howl then suddenly a reply can be heard,
Not long after, the others joined and run after them.

The two run and run until they have reach the end of the forest... The cliff...
Xin holds her shoulders and said, "No matter what happened, you must live. You must take the Kingdom back, You must take the Island back, okay?"
In which the girl nodded,
"But what will happen now? We are at the dead end, there's no escape-"
"There's always an escape" he quickly cuts the girl's sentence, "Trust me, we WILL escape" he continues while emphasizing the word 'will'.
He smiled at the worried girl while the girl just frown because of uneasiness.
"Ahh there you are..."
They both turned around and saw that the creatures have already arrived at the spot.
"Promise me" Xin suddenly said,
"Huh?"
"Promise me, that you'll escape... Promise me that you'll live" he then looks at her, "Promise me, Princess Y/N"
Y/N widened her eyes, all this time she didn't heard him speak her name, besides from the time that he mistaken her as a monster.
He then smile so sweet and warm, then turns to the gruesome monsters that is behind them,
"You want her? Then you must face me first! You can never have her! Over my dead body!" He shouted.
The creatures grinned wickedly to the Knight,
He looks at the girl over his shoulders and mouthed...
"Go"
The girl shakes her head as tears formed in her eyes,
"No..." She whispered weakly.
The Knight smiled and push her to the side,
The girl keeps on coming back even though he already said that she must go.
With one last gentle push, he smiled again... But now his eyes have tears, because he knows... He knows that he is outnumbered and he knows that he doesn't have a chance of winning against them.
"Please..." He whispered softly,
This hurt the princess's heart...
And with one last hug, she ran away while looking at him one last time,
It happened again...
It happened three times already...
She lost three important people on her life...
And it hurts her so much...
She thought she would too...
But then she remembered...
She promised...
She promised to live...
She promised that she will take the Kingdom back...
She promised that she will take the Island back...
And she will be back...
