It's been several weeks after I've been reincarnated into this world. I have been adjusting pretty well if I need to say. The body which I now control is limited and delicate so I have to be extra cautious while I exercise. And it also seems that most of the people here possess names, when I asked Kuro about this he told me a name carry a significant power in them. It depends on the person who gives the name. If the individual has a lot of power and Magicules then you'll evolve into a superior and greater species. That's the reason Kuro why wants me to grow as soon as possible.
Within the four weeks I've spent there I have obtained some basic stealth skills and magic skills. (I've also learned to use a dagger, I did try to use a sword but it was too heavy for my frail body to handle.) so that brings me to my current situation,
I'm currently running and jumping from tree to tree trying to elude the blue-haired ninja ogre. "Boy! Focus look ahead!" Shrieks my cat demon associate. "I'm trying but that guy is too damn quick!!" I yell while avoiding a Kunai knife. "Good lord how many more knives does he possess!!" I scream "Boy! focus damm it!!" As soon as those words leave his mouth white cobwebs shoot out of the trees and coil around Kuro making him resemble a cocoon. "......I despise this form.." he grumbles frantically trying to get rid of the entanglement. "Boy! get out of here! Don't linger I'll meet you later" he says while struggling to get rid of the webs. I run and jump through trees as fast as my frail body can take me but my efforts are futile as I sense something wet and sticky knot around my limbs successfully throwing me off balance, next thing I know I'm dropping from the tree. I quickly fumble and try to get my legs free. I catch my dagger and rip through the bindings and make a successful landing. just as I think I'm safe the ninja emerges out of nowhere he throws a knife which I'm barely able to avoid and within a split second he is on me, he pins me to the ground while holding a dagger to my neckline.
"You have improved," he says as he reaches out with a hand and I grasp it and get up. "train longer and you might catch up to me or even surpass me." he then instructs me to go over some basic stealth combat drills he proceeds to instructs me on how to correctly clean and hone my knives. After explaining he leaves me to my devices and goes back to the village. "He sure knows how to drain his underlings doesn't he?" I ask Kuro as I sense his familiar presence beside me. "Oh, so you have learned to distinguish different kinds of Magicules already. That's an improvement" Kuro says and climbs a tree and sits on a branch to come face to face to me.
He stares at me for a nervous three minutes.
"Well, I guess your ready" he shrugs and says "ready for what exactly?" I ask. Kuro jumps off the branch and lands in front of me. "I'll unlock some of the skills which you stole from me. "He says then claws at my hand and draws some blood I shiver. he takes that blood and circles it in mid-air and forms a rough symbol "wait they were locked??" I ask "well yes if you unlocked them all in one go then your body probably would be torn to bits."
"Just shut your eyes and focus..." he instructs while closing his. I do as he instructs and shut my eyes. "Now shut down all your body and only keep your mind active." "How do I do that?" I ask
"Think of something calming.. like rainfall or the enchanting midnight sky" I do as he says and imagine myself in a forest with a stunning night sky above with millions of stars glistening over me.
Besides me I feel a sinister air, I turn towards it and examine it. Even with the starlight, this part of the forest is completely obscure. I extended my hand instinctively and grab at the darkness. After some examining the piece of darkness I bring the darkness closer to my face to examine it more closely, it looks like a limb but made out of pure darkness.
After thoroughly examining the limb I have come to a conclusion that this is the same inky black appendage that attacked Kuro and me. (but now it seems sluggish and more latent, it's as if it's expecting someone. out of nowhere it abruptly dives itself into my palm
and merges with my flesh and disappears. I panic for a few moments but after a while, I feel more durable and more flexible. the darkness disappears and I see a shadow towering over me it talks in a low hoarse voice. "Be.....prepared....thou...aren't....worthy!" it roars and fades into nothingness. on the ground where the darkness was standing, I see something glowing. Upon closer examination, it seem like a drop made out of hardened blood. It is shaped like a droplet of water. I pick it up and place it on the palm of my hand to examine it more closely. but as soon as I do it I immediately lament doing it as it melts my skin and diffuses into my palm the pain is tremendous and my day is ruined. But this was the start of something more horrible. Just I started to relax an intense agony, More powerful than before hit me. I yell
Outside world. Kuro POV:
"AGHHHHHHH!!"
I open my eyes immediately and find out that there are black limbs much like the ones which attacked me before are now budding from the boy's back. the terrain beneath the boy is drenched by his own blood which is still oozing from his back. The limbs trash violently and destroy and slaughter everything in their way. the boy continues to scream. The limbs fuse together and transmit a shock wave of utter corruption. I try to evade this wave but come to find out that this is futile and the wave hits me and I suddenly feel sick to my stomach and an overwhelming dread rises in my chest.
As I stand there agitated and afraid all I can think is.....
"What in the stygian is this kid"
Somewhere in a grand cathedral.
3D POV:
A female human is seen walking through the great cathedral. The human female has raven black hair and obsidian black eyes. As she is strolling through the cathedral a dark shock wave knocks her and her whole world turns black and obscure. The human female draws her sword and gets in a combative stance. But it's useless, her hands are trembling, and she is sweating extensively. Not because of the darkness or the haze, the real reason why she is trembling is because of the crimson red eyes which are staring at her the eyes trickle blood and corruption. From the blood, an entity cladded in bright red armour seemingly made out of blood emerges. And from the darkness which is pooling near her feet tendrils made out of pure darkness darts out and seize the female knight in a crushing embrace. Even as this whole ordeal is going on the red crimson eyes just gaze at her. She tries to speak but no sound comes out she tries to move but the black tendrils which are holding her down don't even stir. Then below the eyes, a maw full of razor-sharp teeth comes into existence. Just as she was going to use her most powerful skills the jaw of the monster open and snaps one of her arms off. She screams, she swings but the monstrosity doesn't let go. As she thinks that she is going to die at the hand of this horrifying monstrosity. the eyes of the monster erupt into a brilliant white radiance which blinds her momentarily then she falls down and falls motionless. when she wakes up she first checks her arm to see if it's still there. Surprisingly it's still there, there is a light knock on the door she asks the person the come in, a priest enters the room and asks her how she is feeling. Then the priest checks up on her health after the checkup she asks the priest what occurred. the priest says he and some of the other priests found her unconscious near the art gallery. some of her knights also helped in bringing her here. The priest then asks her permission to leave the room. the woman nods then goes to rest the priest leaves the room. The woman lays down on the bed and tries to relax.....but she can't, she knows that this wasn't just some random occurrence. It was the vision which might turn into a reality. "Just what in the world is going to happen"
A certain cave with a certain dragon and a slime. 3D POV:
A slime accepted to try to free the dragon of the barrier but as soon as the slime moved to strike it a wave made out of pure darkness strikes the barrier. But it does nothing but inflict a small amount of damage to the barrier. But for the slime who is outside the barrier, It wasn't so fortunate for it. He got struck by the full brunt of the darkness and gets thrown away, the slime hits the wall with a "splat".
the dragon who witnessed it all stares at the slime than the direction from where the darkness was released. "Whatever that was can't be good." Says the dragon, the slime who was launched away speaks up "ouch... ouch... that hurt" "well as you can see this Barrier is Indestructible." The dragon says. ".......well if that's the case then I have a suggestion.." the slime responded. "Oh do tell me please." The dragon says ".....want to get in my stomach?" The slime asks
"what?"
Back to Kuro
The boy is trashing violently unable to control the black tendrils which are blending with each other to create more powerful shock waves at this rate the kid will be a prime target for all the demons in the area. Kuro then creates a small barrier around the kid and traps him inside, as the dark energy which is being released gets absorbed by the kid again consequently increasing his Magicules. After 10 agonizing minutes, the kid stops and stands still his eyes lost their usual shine and he is not breathing. On the palm of his hand blood drips from a large wound, but the blood doesn't drop it hovers above the boy's hand and takes a shape of a ball. Thin needle-like strings Pierce the boy's corpse the ball pulses wildly for a few minutes then surges with a power that dissolves the barrier which Kuro had set. then the blood orb converts into a small droplet of blood and drops to the ground. The boy falls to the ground beside the droplet and gasps for breath, I go to check on him but before I can move I get an intense headache and fall to my knees.
Back to the MC of our story.
I wake up expecting to still find myself in the forest but I'm back home and in my bed. I try to stand up but as soon as I move my back to sit an intense pain shoots out from my back and I fall back into my bed and try to soothe the burning pain down. "Why didn't I get pain nullification," I think.
"Hey you, you are finally awake" comes Kuro's voice from my left. "Yes, I'm... what happened in the forest." I ask while biting my lip to divert my attention from my pain "you collapsed after you opened some skills, needless to say, it was unexpected but I acquired more skills than you so I don't have a problem. Kuro says and comes in front of me to look me in the eye "well some are better then zero I reckon" he shrugs "of and I think you acquired some levels" he says with a smirk, I try to ask what he means but before that he starts to glow and I hear Kuro laugh " hahahahaha!! finally, I'll leave this foul feline body and acquire a human one!!" Kuro says while laughing and a few instants later the light wanes and what I see takes my wind away........
"What in the seven fatal sins is this," I ask, Kuro was supposed to look like a monster straight out of your gravest nightmare but what stands in front of me is a smoking hot man (no homo)
"Hmmm.... unexpected but this form will make work for now. And you go rest and recover your energy. We're going to hunt some goblins in the forest be equipped at 12:00 AM sharp" with that he proceeds to leave the room.
"What the... Oi, wait!!" I shout "what do you mean by "goblin hunt" and how are you in a human form!?" I interview him
"tsk You're so annoying... but I feel kind enough now so I'll explain the term evolution." He says "evolution?" I ask "No surprise that you don't know about evolution and stuff your whole village is so primitive that none of your people are evolved above ogre." He says with a dull tone. "And yet I get caught by you... anyway, you evolve when you obtain enough experience from battle or by acquiring an alias from a higher level being." He says "so.... how did you evolve?" I ask clueless and he sighs "Well it seems like while you unlocked some of my powers a small amount of Magicules were also released and hence triggered my evolution."
"And what about me, why didn't I evolve?" I ask
".......beats me," Kuro answers shrugging sitting on the railing of the window ready to jump out. "do prepare for tonight. I'd like to try out my brand-new skills, and you should do the same" with that he jumps off.
As I lay back on my bed all I can think of is...."What a frenetic day this turned out to be......" I draft off to sleep
